Self compacting concrete (SCC) is a development of conventional concrete, in which the use of vibrator for compaction is no more required. This property of self compacting concrete has made its use more attractive all over the world. But its initial higher supply cost over conventional concrete, has hindered its application to general construction. Therefore, for producing low cost SCC, it is prudent to look at the alternates to help reducing the SSC cost. This research is aimed at evaluating the usage of bagasse ash as viscosity modifying agent in SCC, and to study the relative costs of the materials used in SCC.In this research, the main variables are the proportion of bagasse ash, dosage of superplasticizer for flowability and water/binder ratio. The parameters kept constant are the amount of cement and water content.Test results substantiate the feasibility to develop low cost self compacting concrete using bagasse ash. In the fresh state of concrete, the different mixes of concrete have slump flow in the range of 333 mm to 815 mm, L-box ratio ranging from 0 to 1 and flow time ranging from 1.8 s to no flow (stucked). Out of twenty five different mixes, five mixes were found to satisfy the requirements suggested by European federation of national trade associations representing producers and applicators of specialist building products (EFNARC) guide for making self compacting concrete. The compressive strengths developed by the self compacting concrete mixes with bagasse ash at 28 days were comparable to the control concrete. Cost analysis showed that the cost of ingredients of specific self compacting concrete mix is 35.63% less than that of control concrete, both having compressive strength above 34 MPa.  相似文献

In this study, usability of wastes produced in phosphoric acid plants in structural brick manufacture has been investigated. There are several parameters involved in using these wastes in brick production namely the rate of added waste, firing speed and firing temperature. The performance of these parameters can be measured by several criteria such as natural drying shortening, water absorption and weight loss. Therefore, so many experiments are needed to investigate the effects of these parameters on the bricks produced with these wastes. The result of a series of experiments were utilized to achieve this end. The results have shown that the industrial wastes considered improve the performance of the bricks in terms of the criteria mentioned above. However, the results have also shown that further investigations are needed to explore the effects of interim values on the performance of the bricks. To achieve that end, a neural experimental study is adopted. For this purpose, the results of the experiments conducted were used to construct an artificial neural network. The trained and tested network was then used to check the effects of 280 different combinations for each type of material mixtures mentioned. The outcome of these artificial tests have provided the optimal values for the waste addition rate, firing speed and firing temperature based on the four criteria mentioned previously.  相似文献

The research was aimed to evaluate the physico-chemical, morphological and thermal analysis of combined pozzolanic activities of minerals additives. Fly ash and ground granulated blast furnace slag were added, separately and collectively, as mineral replacement in ordinary Portland cement. Tests carried out on specimens cured at different ages were: compressive strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, scanning electron microscopic (SEM) studies, differential thermal analysis (DTA) and thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), etc. The results indicated that the compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity development rate of concrete specimens were significantly influenced by the addition of mineral additives. SEM data showed that the fly ash particles were more embedded and surrounded by slag. XRD analysis and DTA/TGA investigation have revealed different reaction kinetics of paste. The peak intensity of calcium hydroxide was significantly retarded by the addition of fly ash and slag, especially in combination, attributed to the dilution effect and calcium hydroxide consumption by pozzolanic reaction.  相似文献

This paper presents a reliability assessment algorithm for distribution systems using a Static Series Voltage Regulator (SSVR). Furthermore, this algorithm considers the effects of Distributed Generation (DG) units, alternative sources, system reconfiguration, load shedding and load adding on distribution system reliability indices. In this algorithm, load points are classified into 8 types and separated restoration times are considered for each class. Comparative studies are conducted to investigate the impacts of DG and alternative source unavailability on the distribution system reliability. For reliability assessment, the customer-oriented reliability indices such as SAIFI, SAIDI, CAIDI ASUI and also load- and energy-oriented indices such as ENS and AENS are evaluated. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is examined on the two standard distribution systems consisting of 33 and 69 nodes. The best location of the SSVR in distribution systems is determined based on different reliability indices, separately. Results show that the proposed algorithm is efficient for large-scale radial distribution systems and can accommodate the effects of fault isolation and load restoration.  相似文献

We compare the behavior of bond lengths, cross sectional shape and bulk modulus at ambient conditions and under hydrostatic pressure of all the three kinds of long uncapped single-walled carbon nanotubes. Results show that two bond lengths completely describe the structure of armchair and zigzag tubes (non-chiral), whereas only one bond length is required to define structure of chiral tubes. In armchair tubes, one bond length is found to be larger and the other smaller than the value for graphene, while in zigzag tubes one of the bond lengths remains equal to and the other larger than graphene bond length. In chiral tubes, three bond lengths are found to be equal to each other and their value depends on the chirality. At some critical pressure values depending on radius, both bond lengths become equal to each other in non-chiral tubes. Above these critical pressure values, the cross section shape changes from circular to oval and the pattern of bond lengths becomes different and dependent on the chirality of the tubes.  相似文献

In this paper a procedure on how to estimate the oxide scale growth in superheater and reheater tube utilizing the empirical formulae and the finite element modeling is proposed. An iterative procedure consisting of empirical formulae and numerical simulation is used to determine scale thickness as both temperature and time increase. Results of the scale thickness over period of time for two different design temperatures of the steam and different heat transfer parameters are presented. The procedures may provide better estimation on the oxide scale growth, provided that all the heat transfer parameters are well specified.  相似文献

Fruits and leafy vegetables are believed to occupy a modest place as a source of trace elements due to their high water content. Most of nutrient requirements can be met by increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables to 5–13 servings/day. In addition to meeting nutrient intake levels, greater consumption of fruits and vegetables is associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancers of the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, lungs, stomach, and colon. Therefore, vegetable and fruit consumption prevents sickness in population. Results in this research showed that Portulaca oleracia Linn. contains high value of macro-elements such as sodium (7.17 mg/g), potassium (14.71 mg/g), and calcium (18.71 mg/g), and high ash value in comparison with other plants. Also, Eulophia ochreata Lindl. has maximum micro-elements such as iron (5.04 mg/g) and zinc (3.83 mg/g) in comparison with other plants in this study. Therefore, we can conclude that P. oleracia Linn. has high nutritional values from the viewpoint of macro-elements such as sodium, potassium, and calcium; and because E. ochreata Lindl. has micro-elements in maximum amounts such as iron and zinc in comparison with other edible plants, it has high nutritional value from the viewpoint of the above trace (micro) elements. Momordica dioicia Roxb. or Cordia myxa Roxb have the lowest nutritional values because they have ash minimum values. M. dioicia Roxb. contains minimum values of sodium and calcium, but C. myxa Roxb. has zinc minimum value. Alocacia indica Sch., Asparagus officinalis DC., Chlorophytum comosum Linn., C. myxa Roxb., E. ochreata Lindl. have medium nutritional values.  相似文献

Human beings evolved on a diet that was balanced in the omega-6 and omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), and was high in antioxidants. Edible wild plants provide alpha-linolenic acid and PUFA. Today, we know that omega-3 fatty acids are essential for normal growth and development and may play an important role in the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease, hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, other inflammatory and autoimmune disorders, and cancer. Comparison of obtained results from analysis of fatty acids of edible plant oils showed that Solanum oil has the highest nutritional value because it contains high contents of linoleic acid (62.29%) and oleic acid (8.6%) and Asparagus oil has high nutritional value because it contains 66.12% oleic acid and 9.6% linoleic acid. Comparison of results of this study with reported results by Artemis (2004) showed that palmetic acid (34.48%) and estearic acid (21.71%) contents of portulaca in this study were greater than the results reported by Artemis. Therefore, we can conclude that Solanum and Asparagus oil are edible and have good nutritive values.  相似文献

This paper presents a comprehensive modelling methodology for the electromagnetic immunity of integrated circuits (ICs) to direct power injection (DPI). The aim of this study is to predict the susceptibility of ICs by the means of simulations performed on an appropriate electrical model of different integrated logic cores located in the same die. These cores are identical from a functional point of view, but differ by their design strategies. The simulation model includes the whole measurement setup as well as the integrated circuit under test, its environment (PCB, power supply) and the substrate model of each logic core. Simulation results and comparisons with measurement results demonstrate the validity of the suggested model. Moreover, they highlight the interest of the aforementioned protection strategies against electromagnetic disturbances.  相似文献

Gamma irradiation, alone and in combination with sulphitation, was tested for preventing the browning and maintaining the quality attributes of the white button mushrooms. Mushrooms were subjected to treatment of gamma irradiation in the dose range of 0.5–2.0 kGy and to combination treatments of sulphitation at a concentration of 0.1% potassium metabisulphite (KMS) and gamma irradiation (dose range 0.5–2.0 kGy) followed by storage at 10 ± 2 °C (RH 85%). A dose of 2.0 kGy significantly reduced the weight loss, prevented browning and mould growth. Cap and veil opening of mushrooms was delayed by 9 days and shelf life was extended by 12 days at a dose level of 2.0 kGy. Sulphitation alone at a concentration of 0.1% KMS was effective in controlling browning only upto 3 days, beyond which both browning and cap opening increased significantly ( P  ≤ 0.05) and the samples were unacceptable after 6 days of storage. No synergistic effect of sulphitation and irradiation was observed with respect to the shelf-life extension of mushroom.  相似文献
