Modifications in proximate composition, fatty acids, amino acids and –SH groups content, as well as changes in solubility and nutritional quality of protein, were studied in fillets of sardine (Clupea pilchardus) that had been successively pan-fried, frozen stored and reheated by two different means, namely conventional oven and microwave oven. Upon pan-frying in olive oil the sardine absorbed C18: 1(n-9) and C18: 2(n-6) and lost saturated (SFA) and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA); this loss continued upon reheating, and as a consequence the percentage of MUFA increased compared to the just-fried sardine. A loss of water was observed during all processes. Upon frying there was a decrease of cyst(e)ine. Upon reheating by both microwave and conventional oven, methionine decreased; however, cyst(e)ine only decreased with the use of a conventional oven. A loss of –SH groups was recorded during frying and this phenomenon continued upon reheating. A compact, four-quadrant analog CMOS multiplier featuring wide dynamic range is presented. The capacitive voltage division obtained by the use of Floating-Gate MOS (FGMOS) transistors, and an accurate wide-swing current mirror based on active bootstrapping, allow a wide input range, low harmonic distortion, and high linearity. This article describes a novel approach to model the quality of experience (QoE) of users in mobile environments. The context-aware and ratings interaction model (CARIM) addresses the open questions of how to quantify user experiences from the analysis of interaction in mobile scenarios, and how to compare different QoE records to each other. A set of parameters are used to dynamically describe the interaction between the user and the system, the context in which it is performed and the perceived quality of users. CARIM structures these parameters into a uniform representation, supporting the dynamic analysis of interaction to determine QoE of users and enabling the comparison between different interaction records. Its run-time nature allows applications to make context- and QoE-based decisions in real time to adapt themselves, and thus provide a better experience to users. As a result, CARIM provides unified criteria for the inference and analysis of QoE in mobile scenarios. Its design and implementation can be integrated (and easily extended if needed) into many different development environments. An experiment with real users comparing two different interaction designs and validating user behavior hypotheses proved the effectiveness of applying CARIM for the assessment of QoE in mobile applications. 相似文献

This paper describes the architecture, the development and the implementation of Janus II, a new generation application-driven number cruncher optimized for Monte Carlo simulations of spin systems (mainly spin glasses). This domain of computational physics is a recognized grand challenge of high-performance computing: the resources necessary to study in detail theoretical models that can make contact with experimental data are by far beyond those available using commodity computer systems. On the other hand, several specific features of the associated algorithms suggest that unconventional computer architectures–that can be implemented with available electronics technologies–may lead to order of magnitude increases in performance, reducing to acceptable values on human scales the time needed to carry out simulation campaigns that would take centuries on commercially available machines. Janus II is one such machine, recently developed and commissioned, that builds upon and improves on the successful JANUS machine, which has been used for physics since 2008 and is still in operation today. This paper describes in detail the motivations behind the project, the computational requirements, the architecture and the implementation of this new machine and compares its expected performances with those of currently available commercial systems. 相似文献

This paper presents a new method that can be applied by a parallelizing compiler to find, without user intervention, the iteration and data decompositions that minimize communication and load imbalance overheads in parallel programs targeted at NUMA architectures. One of the key ingredients in our approach is the representation of locality as a locality-communication graph (ICG) and the formulation of the compiler technique as a mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) optimization problem on this graph. The objective function and constraints of the optimization problem model communication costs and load imbalance. The solution to this optimization problem is a decomposition that minimizes the parallel execution overhead. This paper summarizes the process of how the compiler extracts the locality information from a nonannotated code and focuses on how this compiler can derive the optimization problem, solve it, and generate the parallel code with the automatically selected iteration and data distributions. In addition, we include a discussion about our model and the solutions - the decompositions - that it provides. The approach presented in the paper is evaluated using several benchmarks. The experimental results demonstrate that the MINLP formulation does not increase compilation time significantly and that our framework generates very efficient iteration/data distributions for a variety of NUMA machines. 相似文献

This paper describes the development of a robot prototype for intervention, sampling, and situation awareness in CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear) missions. It outlines the mission requirements, design specifications, the solutions that were developed and integrated, and the final tests done. The solution addresses one of the most important mission requirements in CBRN scenarios: the capability to decontaminate the robot once it has been used in real missions. As microdoses of CBRN contaminants are sufficient to cause significant damage to human beings, prevention of robot contamination is always of top priority. If there is a potential danger of real contamination, it can only be removed by effective decontamination. The way to deal with this problem imposes significant design conditions; the proposed design allows an easy and fast decontamination of the robot. The work presents a new way to approach this kind of robot, based on modular component architecture over a robot operating system that permits the attachment and detachment of robot components via unique electromechanical interfaces. The resulting modular robot introduces an innovative kinematic solution that can be dynamically configured for the different mission requirements. 相似文献
