This paper presents and analyzes a new near-optimum medium access control (MAC) protocol. The proposed access scheme is suitable for a CDMA mobile communication environment, and keeps under control and upper bounded the number of simultaneous transmissions. It has a delay performance approaching that of an ideal optimum M/M/K system, where K is the number of spreading codes being used (maximum number of simultaneous transmissions). The protocol is a free random access protocol when the traffic load is light, and switches smoothly and automatically to a reservation protocol when traffic load becomes heavier. It is based on distributed queues and a collision resolution algorithm. Moreover, a physical receiver structure is proposed and analyzed in order to preserve the robustness of the protocol in a wireless link. The results obtained show that the protocol outperforms other well known medium access protocols in terms of stability and delay, even when taking into account the loss caused by channel propagation conditions 相似文献

BACKGROUND: In Citrus, root temperature regulates rind colouration. However, few studies have investigated the range of temperatures and timing which determine rind colour break. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between range of soil temperature (ST) and rind colour development in the precocious ‘Clemenpons’ Clementine mandarin. Reflective white plastic mulch was used to modify root temperature. RESULTS: Mulching increased reflected light and reduced daily maximum ST and temperature range, major differences being established 70–30 days before harvest. Rind colour‐break correlated positively with 20 °C < ST < 23 °C; thus, 20–23 °C appears to be the ST threshold interval for fruit colouration. The sooner the soil reached it, the sooner the fruit changed rind colour. In our experiments, control trees accumulated 565 h at this ST interval before fruit changed colour, whereas in treated trees it occurred 2 weeks earlier. Hence, in treated trees the colour break was advanced by 2 weeks and this increased the percentage of fruit harvested at the first picking date by up to 2.5‐fold. Conclusions: Fruit colour‐break does not take place at a certain ST, but after several hours at a ST of 20–23 °C. Nanocrystalline WO3 samples are synthesized by different procedures. The first series of samples are obtained by sol-gel reaction, starting from WCI6, followed by thermal treatments in the range 300-750 degrees C. To improve the oxide microstructure, a second series of samples is obtained by submitting the xerogels, obtained from the sol-gel reaction, to prolonged (170 h) hydrothermal (HT) growth steps in the presence of a surfactant, either non-ionic (Lutensol ON70) or ionic (cetylpyridinium chloride), and to a final firing. The HT treatment, in the presence of cetylpyridinium chloride is also combined with Ag promotion (1% Ag). The phase composition of all samples is characterized jointly by XRD Rietveld refinement and Raman spectroscopy. The observed different temperature domains of the nanocrystalline WO3 polymorphs with respect to bulk systems are attributed to the occurrence of surface relaxation phenomena. TEM and SEM images show that the samples submitted to the surfactant HT treatment present a generally improved microstructure while the presence of Ag induces crystallite growth and sintering between the particles. The NO2 sensing measurements show for all samples that the film response decreases with the operating temperatures and is promoted by the presence of humidity. The samples obtained by the surfactant HT treatment show a much better sensor performance with respect to the other samples, the more so in the case of the cationic molecules. The role played by the HT treatment in promoting the features of the WO3 samples is discussed also on grounds of Raman analyses in the water-OH stretching region. 相似文献

The authors propose a new advanced spectrum management (ASM) methodology for wideband code division multiple access systems based on the concept of coupling matrix, which is able to capture inter-cell interactions. The proposed methodology takes into account the fact that each cell can be associated to more than one carrier and aims at liberating some carriers in large geographical zones, so that they could eventually be used by, for example, secondary cognitive radio users that exploit the flexible frequency allocation and opportunistic spectrum access. Simulation results show that the proposed methodology increases spectrum efficiency while guaranteeing the requested QoS levels. Moreover, a new metric has been introduced to reflect the capability of the ASM methodology to liberate some carriers in large geographic zones.
