Heteroatom doped carbon structures received a great attention owing to its applications in catalysis, energy and optics. In this work, a simple hydrothermal approach for the synthesis of nitrogen doped graphitic carbon sheets (N-GCSs) is reported. Rubus parvifolius (R. parvifolius) fruit juice and aqueous ammonia are used as carbon precursor and nitrogen dopant, respectively. The synthesized N-GCSs are characterized using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM) and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectrum (EDS). The presence of hydroxyl and carbonyl functionalities in the synthesized N-GCSs are confirmed by the FT-IR analysis. The doping of nitrogen in N-GCSs is revealed through the XPS spectrum. The XRD and Raman studies imply that the synthesized N-GCSs are moderate graphitic nature. The FE-SEM and HR-TEM images of N-GCSs exposed its sheet like porous morphology. The electrocatalytic activity of N-GCSs coated carbon cloth (N-GCSs/CC) are examined towards hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in 0.50 M H2SO4 using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), Tafel and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) studies. The onset potential of synthesized N-GCSs/CC is about ?0.25 VRHE, which is lower than that of bare carbon cloth (CC) ?0.75 VRHE. The Tafel slope of N-GCSs/CC is smaller (198 mV dec?1) than that of bare CC (253 mV dec?1), suggested fast kinetics of N-GCSs. Moreover, the N-GCSs/CC is attained ?10 mA cm?2 of current density at very low over potential of ?0.320 VRHE. The EIS studies also proved the excellent catalytic activity of N-GCSs/CC towards HER. Thus, the R. parvifolius derived N-GCSs is a better candidate for HER in acidic medium.  相似文献

Effects of spinal cord transection on the synaptology of zebrafish spinal motoneurons were studied. The transection was made at the level of the 14th vertebra and the synaptology of motoneuron somata and dendrites was analysed at the level of the 21st to the 23rd vertebrae at one month and three months after transection. Horseradish peroxidase, applied to the myotomal muscle, was used to label motoneuron somata and dendritic branches in central and in lateral areas of the neuropil (referred to as central and lateral dendritic profiles). Boutons impinging on motoneurons were classified according to the morphology of the vesicles. We discerned R-boutons with spherical vesicles, F-boutons with flat vesicles and DC-boutons with at least one dense core vesicle. The apposition lengths of R-, F- and DC-boutons and the circumference of labelled profiles were determined to assess the proportional covering of boutons on somata and dendrites. Ratio's of covering with R- and F-boutons (R/F ratio) for somata, central and lateral dendritic profiles were 1.1, 2.1, and 2.1 in control fish and 0.5, 0.5 and 0.9 in lesioned fish at one month after transection, respectively. The total covering of motoneurons in lesioned fish was decreased by 20% on somata and by 30% on lateral dendritic profiles, whereas central dendritic profiles did not change significantly. At three months after transection the R/F ratio's for somata, central and lateral dendritic profiles were 0.5, 0.7 and 0.6, respectively. The total covering on somata and central and lateral dendritic profiles was at control levels. The anatomical aspects of the changes in synaptology indicate that in control fish 50 to 60% of the R-boutons on the motoneuron surface originate from descending axons. In contrast, almost all F-boutons seem to be from local origin.  相似文献

A new adsorbent containing a carboxylate group has been prepared by the surface modification of a polyacrylamide grafted hydrous tin (IV) oxide gel. The product exhibits a very high adsorption potential for Pb(II), Hg(II) and Cd(II). The effect of initial metal ion concentration, adsorbent dose, pH, concentration of light metal ions, and temperature on metal removal has been studied. The process follows a first-order rate kinetics. The intraparticle diffusion of metal ions through pores in the adsorbent was shown to be the main rate limiting step. The equilibrium data fit well with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The selectivity order of the adsorbent is Pb(II) > Hg(II) > Cd(II). Adsorption rate constants and thermodynamic parameters were also presented to predict the nature of adsorption. The method was applied on synthetic wastewaters. Acid regeneration has been tried for several cycles with a view to recover the adsorbed metal ions and also to restore the sorbent to its original state.  相似文献

As cyber security is a major challenge in the widespread deployment of the latest technologies, the importance of selecting the open ports for a given web filter cannot be overemphasized. A network administrator would want to select a combination of ports that would be most beneficial to the users and these ports would be treated as least vulnerable. However, this is not a trivial task and can be very time-consuming, O(n!), if brute force or other naïve approaches are used to select a given number of ports from 65,536 ports available. As genetic algorithms (GAs) are commonly used to obtain near-optimal solution for complex and time-consuming tasks, this paper proposes a GA for the selection of open ports for a web filter. The gene value for each port is based on the malicious issues associated with the port and the importance of the port to the client using the web filter. The proposed algorithm is implemented in Java, and the simulation results show that GA is very accurate in identifying open ports for a given web filter.  相似文献

The moisture and solute diffusivities, texture and colour of sweet potato pretreated in distilled water with ultrasound (UD), osmotic dehydration without ultrasound (OD) and osmotic dehydration with ultrasound (UOD) were investigated to determine the effects of ultrasound on osmodehydrated sweet potato. The moisture and solute diffusivities of all the pretreatments ranged from 2.89 to 4.95 × 10?10 and 1.17 to 1.67 × 10?10 m2 s?1, respectively. The moisture diffusivity of samples treated in UOD was significantly (P < 0.05) higher than that of OD and UD by 30.82% and 41.62%, respectively. Compared to the fresh sample, the firmness of samples treated in OD and UOD was reduced by 83.53% and 92.47%, respectively. UD increased the brightness (L*) and reduced the redness (a*) of sweet potato, while UOD enhanced the yellowness (b*) and chroma (C*) of sweet potato. The sweet potato samples treated in UOD had the highest total colour difference (ΔE).  相似文献

Chipless radio frequency identification (RFID) is an emerging research area nowadays. The recent development in this area proves its efficiency to compete with low cost identification systems like barcodes in the upcoming years. Chipless RFID encodes data using different kinds of spectral signature produced from some planar images as in the case of barcodes, the difference here is those images are made with conductive materials. Among the different ways of information encoding, a powerful way of encoding is time domain approach. This paper incorporates a tag using group delay encoding. The proposed chipless tag is composed of commensurate cascaded transmission line sections coupled at alternative ends (also known as C-sections). It consists of single group of C-sections. However, in order to increase the coding capacity, the proposed tag can allow multi-frequencies also. In addition to this, the tag is also compatible with commercial ultra wide band radar. The proposed tag is validated experimentally. It exhibits a good reading range of 1.2 m.  相似文献

Thermal properties of melt processable polyaniline (PANI) synthesized by doping with functionalised novel sulfonic acid dopants have been investigated. Doping of PANI was carried out by using the dopants derived from an inexpensive naturally existing biomonomer, cardanol: sulfonic acid of 3‐pentadecylphenol, sulfonic acid of 3‐pentadecylanisole and sulfonic acid of 3‐pentadecylphenoxyacetic acid. These dopants act as very good plasticizing cum protonating agents for PANI. Doping was carried out either by mechanical mixing of emeraldine base and the dopant or by an in situ doping emulsion polymerization of aniline. Highly conducting free‐standing flexible films of protonated PANI could be prepared by a hot pressing method at different temperatures. The thermal stability and thermal reactions of these protonated PANI were followed by conductivity measurements at different temperatures, wide angle X‐ray diffraction measurements, thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning colorimetry analysis. © 2001 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

Canada's vision for the agri-food industry in the 21st century is the establishment of a national food safety system employing hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) principles and microbiological verification tools, with traceability throughout the gate-to-plate continuum. Voluntary on-farm food safety (OFFS) programs, based in part on HACCP principles, provide producers with guidelines for good production practices focused on general hygiene and biosecurity. OFFS programs in beef cattle, swine, and poultry are currently being evaluated through a national recognition program of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Mandatory HACCP programs in federal meat facilities include microbial testing for generic Escherichia coli to verify effectiveness of the processor's dressing procedure, specific testing of ground meat for E. coli O157:H7, with zero tolerance for this organism in the tested lot, and Salmonella testing of raw products. Health Canada's policy on Listeria monocytogenes divides ready-to-eat products into three risk categories, with products previously implicated as the source of an outbreak receiving the highest priority for inspection and compliance. A national mandatory identification program to track livestock from the herd of origin to carcass inspection has been established. Can-Trace, a data standard for all food commodities, has been designed to facilitate tracking foods from the point of origin to the consumer. Although much work has already been done, a coherent national food safety strategy and concerted efforts by all stakeholders are needed to realize this vision. Cooperation of many government agencies with shared responsibility for food safety and public health will be essential.  相似文献

A polydisilahydrocarbon, namely, poly(tetramethyldisilylene‐co‐styrene), synthesized from dimethyldichlorosilane and styrene in 1 : 0.5 mol ratio under dechlorination conditions was evaluated as an atomic oxygen (AO) resistant coating for polyimide film and C‐polyimide composite. Exposure of the polymer coating on a quartz plate to an AO fluence of 2.1 × 1021 atoms/cm2 resulted in practically no mass loss, indicating the AO resistance of the polymer. Ten percent solution of the polymer in toluene was applied on aluminized Kapton® polyimide film (125 μm thick) to obtain a coating thickness of ~ 5 μm on the unaluminized surface. In a similar way, the coating was applied on a C‐polyimide composite. The coated and uncoated samples of Kapton® film and C‐polyimide composite were exposed to AO in a plasma barrel system. The uncoated aluminized Kapton® film (125 μm) lost 6.35 mg/cm2 when exposed to AO fluence of 1.6 × 1021 atoms/cm2 whereas the corresponding coated film lost only 0.14 mg/cm2 even after exposure to AO fluence of 2.1 × 1021 atoms/cm2. In the case of the C‐polyimide composite, the uncoated sample lost 63.64 mg/cm2 on exposure to AO fluence of 1.8 × 1021 atoms/cm2 whereas the coated one lost only 0.21 mg/cm2 even after exposure to AO fluence of 2.1 × 1021 atoms/cm2. SEM studies suggest that the coating offers good protection to the substrates. Formation of cracks on some portions of the coating was noticed. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
