A transmission queuing scheme is described that increases downlink throughput on wireless local area networks (WLANs) while also increasing the total throughput. When the amount of uplink traffic increases on a WLAN, the carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol, which is the prescribed scheme for IEEE 802.11 WLAN channel access, may substantially reduce the rate of downlink data frame transmission. This results in severe throughput degradation for mobile stations with downlink traffic. The proposed scheme comprises a transmission control function based on consecutive transmission, as described in the IEEE 802.11e standard, and a dynamic queue prioritization algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme increases the maximum total throughput for uplink and downlink traffic by 17% compared with the conventional distributed coordination function (DCF) scheme and that it reduces the difference between uplink and downlink throughput. In an environment where transmission errors occur, the difference in throughput is reduced by about 50% compared with the conventional schemes. 相似文献

A CMOS pipelined floating-point processing unit (FPU) for superscalar processors is described. It is fabricated using a 0.5 μm CMOS triple-metal-layer technology on a 61 mm2 die. The FPU has two execution modes to meet precise scientific computations and real-time applications. It can start two FPU operations in each cycle, and this achieves a peak performance of 160 MFLOPS double or single precision with an 80 MHz clock. Furthermore, the original computation mode, twin single-precision computation, double the peak performance and delivers 320 MFLOPS single precision. Its full bypass reduces the latency of operations, including load and store, and achieves an effective throughput even in nonvectorizable computations. A multifrequency holographic microwave imaging method with high resolving capability in both azimuth and range directions, is described. The method incorporates a synthetic aperture approach in pulse radar systems, originally designed for the pulse-echo imaging, in order to improve azimuth resolution. The imaging technique places no constraint on the waveform of a transmitted signal in use and allows the three-dimensional imaging. This paper develops 1) the general formula, which describes the relation between the transmitted and received signals, based on Kirchhoff diffraction theory, 2) a test function, which is the kernel of a linear operation for producing object images from received signals, and 3) a filter design technique for compressing the durations and suppressing the sidelobe levels of received signals. The micellar properties of aqueous binary mixed solutions for two systems consisting of sodium cholate (NaC)-octaoxyethylene
glycol mono n-decyl ether (C10E8) and sodium glycocholate (NaGC)-C10E8 have been studied on the basis of surface tensions, polarity of the micelle interior and the mean aggregation number. Application
of two theoretical treatments, based on regular solution and excess thermodynamic quantities for critical micellar concentration
(CMC) data from surface tension curves of two mixed systems showed that the mole fraction of each bile salt in the mixed micelles
near the CMC is lower than that of the corresponding prepared mole fraction in the mixed solution. The polarity of the interior
suggested that the hydrophobicity of intramicelles increased with the increase of the mole fraction of bile salt in the mixed
solution and that the mixed micelles become dramatically more hydrophobic at a mole fraction of 0.68 for NaGC−C10E8 system and 0.75 for NaC−C10E8 system, respectively. This implies that the micelles become richer in the bile salt molecules and the tendency appears strongly
for NaGC−C10E8 system due to the strong cohesion between the conjugated glycines in the NaGC molecules. The decrease of aggregation number
with the increase of the mole fraction of bile salts shows that the micelles approach those of the single system of each bile

We investigated the effect of tofogliflozin, a sodium-dependent glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i), on retinal blood flow dysregulation, neural retinal dysfunction, and the impaired neurovascular coupling in type 2 diabetic mice. Tofogliflozin was added to mouse chow to deliver 5 mg/kg/day and 6-week-old mice were fed for 8 weeks. The longitudinal changes in the retinal neuronal function and blood flow responses to systemic hyperoxia and flicker stimulation were evaluated every 2 weeks in diabetic db/db mice that received tofogliflozin (n =6) or placebo (n = 6) from 8 to 14 weeks of age. We also evaluated glial activation and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression by immunofluorescence. Tofogliflozin treatment caused a sustained decrease in blood glucose in db/db mice from 8 weeks of the treatment. In tofogliflozin-treated db/db mice, both responses improved from 8 to 14 weeks of age, compared with vehicle-treated diabetic mice. Subsequently, the electroretinography implicit time for the oscillatory potential was significantly improved in SGLT2i-treated db/db mice. The systemic tofogliflozin treatment prevented the activation of glial fibrillary acidic protein and VEGF protein expression, as detected by immunofluorescence. Our results suggest that glycemic control with tofogliflozin significantly improved the impaired retinal neurovascular coupling in type 2 diabetic mice with the inhibition of retinal glial activation. 相似文献

In this study, the Fe–Co alloy is combined with cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) and nickel (Ni) to form Fe–Co/CoFe2O4 and Fe–Co/Ni clad sheets and their energy-harvesting performance is evaluated. The Fe–Co/CoFe2O4 clad sheet exhibits an output voltage of 4.229 mV and an output power of 6.89 nW at a wind speed of 10 m s−1. The energy-harvesting performance of both these clad sheets cannot be quantitatively compared owing to their different thicknesses, which result in varying volume and distance from the neutral plane. Nevertheless, the values of output voltage and power for Fe–Co/CoFe2O4 are higher than those for Fe–Co/Ni (2.107 mV and 0.294 nW). 相似文献
