Some of the interim results of the Bench Mark Project by the Subcommittee on the Inelastic Analysis and Life Prediction of High Temperature Materials, JSMS, is presented. The purpose of the present bench mark study is to review and evaluate the inelastic constitutive models relevant to material response under the plasticity-creep interaction.By specifying normalized and tempered steel at 600°C, sixteen bench mark problems of four categories are first established: (I) tensile stress-strain relations and creep curves, (II) material response under mixed modes of plastic and creep loading, (III) ratcheting and deformation under program loads, and (IV) cyclic deformation behaviour under the combination of different strain rates. Then, the outline of seventeen inelastic constitutive models of nine types discussed in this project is presented. Finally, the interim results of these bench mark tests are compared with the corresponding predictions of the constitutive models to evaluate their accuracy in simulating the actual behaviour of the material.  相似文献

The mean stress effect on the fatigue properties of two kinds of welded pipes was investigated in cantilever bending. The fatigue strength changed with the mean stress on fillet welded pipes, but did not change on butt welded pipes. The fatigue crack initiated from the toe of weld on the outer surface of fillet welded pipes and from the undercut on the inner surface of butt welded pipes. The measurement of the fatigue crack propagation rate and the residual stress distribution through the thickness of pipe revealed that the difference in the fatigue properties between fillet and butt welded pipes arose from the weld-induced residual stress, tension on the inner surface and compression on the outer surface. It is suggested that the production of compressive residual stress along the inner surface would be an effective means for improving the fatigue strength of butt welded pipes.  相似文献

A direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is highly anticipated as a new, high‐density energy source for mobile usage; however, its poor power density presents a problem. As a result, the size of portable electronic equipment using DMFCs is far larger than that of equipment using another type of battery. In addition, steady power supply control is difficult, because the output power of the DMFC is affected by the environment. First, this paper presents a pulse charge control system that is a new control system applied to a mobile device, which uses the DMFC and an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC), then describes the new passive heat control and presents experimental results. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The assessment of carotenoid bioavailability has long been hampered by the limited knowledge of their absorption mechanisms. However, recent reports have elucidated important aspects of carotenoid digestion and absorption. Disruption of food matrix and increasing amounts of fat seem to enhance the absorption of carotenes to a larger extent than that of xanthophylls. Comparing different carotenoid species, xanthophylls seem to be more easily released from the food matrix and more efficiently micellized than the carotenes. On the other hand, carotenes are more efficiently taken up by the enterocytes. However, carotenoid emulsification and micellization steps are largely affected by the food matrix and dietary components, being the main determinant of carotenoid bioavailability from foodstuffs. Although the intestinal uptake of carotenoids has been thought to occur by simple diffusion, recent studies reported the existence of receptor-mediated transport of carotenoids in enterocytes. Comparisons between the intestinal absorption of a wide array of carotenoids would be useful to elucidate the absorption mechanism of each carotenoid species, in view of the recent indications that intestinal carotenoid uptake may involve the scavenger receptor class B type I and possibly other epithelial transporters. The unraveling of the whole mechanism underlying the absorption of carotenoids will be the challenge for future studies.  相似文献

The effects of difructose anhydride III (di-D-fructofuranose-1,2':2,3'-dianhydride; DFA III) administration (3% DFA III for 4 weeks) on rat intestinal microbiota were examined using denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE). According to DGGE profiles, the number of bacteria related to Bacteroides acidofaciens and uncultured bacteria within the Clostridium lituseburense group decreased, while that of bacteria related to Bacteroides vulgatus, Bacteroides uniformis and Ruminococcus productus increased in DFA III-fed rat cecum. In the cecal contents of DFA III-fed rats, a lowering of pH and an increase in short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), especially acetic acid, were observed. The DFA III-assimilating bacterium, Ruminococcus sp. M-1, was isolated from the cecal contents of DFA III-fed rats. The strain had 98% similarity with R. productus ATCC 27340T (L76595), and mainly produced acetic acid. These results confirmed that the bacteria harmful to host health were not increased by DFA III administration. Moreover, DFA III stimulated the growth of Ruminococcus sp. M-1 producing acetic acid, which may alter the intestinal microbiota towards a healthier composition. It is expected that DFA III would be a new candidate as a prebiotic.  相似文献

A rapid and simple DNA extraction method is needed to detect genetically modified recombinant DNA in soybean kernels and processed foods. However, since various kernels and processed foods differ greatly in form, a uniform DNA extraction method has proved elusive. The silica-base resin DNA extraction method does not use any organic solvent, and the operation is simple and the cost per extraction is low, although the frequency of its use is very low and few domestic reports exist. We therefore studied suitable conditions for a silica-base resin method. We also developed the method to get more pure DNA from soybean kernels. The silica-base resin method was found to be adequate for extracting DNA from various processed foods for PCR amplification with endogenous gene primers. In the case of DNA extraction from soybean kernels, pure DNA could be efficiently extracted after pre-heating the soybean suspension in TNE buffer. The extracted DNA showed higher ratios of absorption at 260 nm/280 nm and 260 nm/230 nm than those for samples obtained with previous methods. Moreover, our observations suggested that the extraction time could be reduced to within 30 min for processed foods such as tofu.  相似文献

The thermal diffusivity of AlN ceramics was significantly decreased by the addition of SiO2. The AlN ceramics with 4 wt% SiO2 could not be densified by pressureless sintering in the temperature range 1400° to 1800°C. The thermal diffusivity of these samples was very low because of their porous structure. The AlN ceramics containing 2, 4, and 8 wt% SiO2 were densified by hot-pressing and also had low thermal diffusivity. In these samples, the grains of the 27R polytype that resulted from the reaction between AlN and SiO2 were dispersed, obstructing the conduction of heat. The relation between the amount of 27R polytype and the thermal diffusivity of the AlN ceramics was determined.  相似文献

Optical confinement effect of thin-film polycrystalline-Si (poly-Si) solar cell on glass substrate fabricated at low-temperature has been investigated as a function of cell thickness of less than 5 μm. We found that it is possible to fabricate the textured Si thin film in situ on a glass substrate and that the reflectance at long-wavelength light is reduced by surface texturing. Thin-film poly-Si solar cell and a-Si:H/(0.45 μm)/poly-Si (5 μm) tandem solar cell exhibit the efficiency of 8.6% and 12.8%, respectively. The numerical study in terms of the light trapping explains the excellent high short-circuit current density (sc above 27 mA/cm2 at the 4.7 μm thin-film poly-Si solar cell.  相似文献
