The hydrothermal formation of tobermorite during the processing of autoclaved aerated concrete was investigated by in situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. High-energy X-rays from a synchrotron radiation source in combination with a newly developed autoclave cell and a photon-counting pixel array detector were used.To investigate the effects of the silica source, reactive quartz from chert and less-reactive quartz from quartz sand were used as starting materials. The effect of Al addition on tobermorite formation was also studied. In all cases, C-S-H, hydroxylellestadite and katoite were clearly observed as intermediates.Acceleration of tobermorite formation by Al addition was clearly observed. However, Al addition did not affect the dissolution rate of quartz. Two pathways, via C-S-H and katoite, were also observed in the Al-containing system. These results suggest that the structure of initially formed C-S-H is important for the subsequent tobermorite formation reactions.  相似文献

Boron nitride (BN) thin films were deposited on silicon and sapphire substrates by an inductively coupled plasma chemical vapor deposition technique with time-dependent control of the substrate dc bias (Vdc). Turbostratic BN films were deposited on sapphire when the bias reduction rate, ·Vdc, was optimized specifically for cBN growth on silicon. This difference depending on the substrates was explained by a potential drop in the dielectric substrate. By reducing ·Vdc at the early stage of deposition, the cBN phase was successfully deposited on both substrates. We also found that the chemical composition of BN varied from B/(B + N) = 0.48 to 0.57 upon changing the gas ratio of diborane to nitrogen. The gas ratio for film nonstoichiometry resulted in a thicker initial layer, i.e., the delayed nucleation of cBN.  相似文献

We demonstrate a method for successfully controlling carbon incorporation in AlAs layers grown by atomic layer epitaxy (ALE) using various GaAs substrates with different orientations. The number of alkyl radicals attached to an Al atom at the surface, which is a main factor in carbon incorporation, can be intentionally controlled by changing substrate orientation. We found that the carbon incorporation in ALE-AlAs using the (3 1 1)B surface is 2 x 1017,cm-3, which is the lowest value ever reported for ALE-AlAs that satisfies one-monolayer self-limiting growth conditions.  相似文献

Primary accelerometer calibration is carried out under the assumption that a vibration exciter gives a rectilinear motion to an accelerometer to be calibrated. However practical vibration given by the vibration exciter includes parasitic motion such as transverse, rocking, and bending motion. Such parasitic motion would give two serious effects on primary calibration results, transverse motion effect and vibration distribution effect. Transverse motion effect is caused by an inner product of the vectors of both transverse motion and transverse sensitivity. On the other hand, the vibration distribution effect is caused by relative motion between a sensing point of accelerometer and a spot sensed by the interferometer. As these effects have close interaction between parasitic motion and measuring instruments, it would be very difficult to evaluate them by measuring independently each component.  相似文献

Electric power systems in Japan are composed of remote and distributed location of generators and loads mainly concentrated in large‐demand areas. The structures having long‐distance transmission tend to produce heavy power flow with increasing electric power demand. In addition, some independent power producers (IPP) and power producer and suppliers (PPS) are participating in the power generation business, which makes power system dynamics more complex. However, there was little observation as a whole power system. In this paper the authors present a global monitoring system of power system dynamics by using the synchronized phasor measurement of demand‐side outlets. Phasor Measurement Units (PMU) are synchronized based on the global positioning system (GPS). The purpose of this paper is to show oscillation characteristics and methods for processing original data obtained from PMU after certain power system disturbances triggered by accidents. This analysis resulted in the observation of the lowest and the second lowest frequency mode. The derivation of eigenvalue with the two‐degree‐of‐freedom model brings a monitoring of two oscillation modes. Signal processing based on wavelet analysis and simulation studies to illustrate the obtained phenomena are presented in detail. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. To investigate whether monkeys perceive relative pitch, the author trained 3 Japanese monkeys (Macaca fuscata) to detect changes from rising to falling contours of 3-tone sequences. Tone sequences were presented serially with transposition, so monkeys were urged to attend to cues other than the absolute frequency of a component tone. Results from probe tests with novel sequences showed that monkeys discriminated by the relative pitch when the frequency ranges of sequences were within the training range, showing a similar tendency as birds in previous studies (e.g., S. To study a role of syncytium structure of sensory receptor systems in the detection of weak signals through stochastic resonance, we present a model of a receptor system with syncytium structure in which receptor cells are interconnected by gap junctions. The apical membrane of each cell includes two kinds of ion channels whose gating processes are described by the deterministic model. The membrane potential of each cell fluctuates chaotically or periodically, depending on the dynamical state of collective channel gating. The chaotic fluctuation of membrane potential acts as internal noise for the stochastic resonance. The detection ability of the system increases as the electric conductance between adjacent cells generated by the gap junction increases. This effect of gap junctions arises mainly from the fact that the synchronization of chaotic fluctuation of membrane potential between the receptor cells is strengthened as the density of gap junctions is increased.  相似文献

We studied the effects of ventilation and pleural effusion on measurements of airway thermal volume (ATV) and pulmonary blood flow (PBF) by using the airway gas thermometry method of V. B. Serikov, M. S. Rumm, K. Kambara, M. I. Bootomo, A. R. Osmack, and N. C. Staub (J. Appl. Physiol. 72: 944-953, 1992) in 39 anesthetized dogs with or without lung edema or pleural effusion. To examine the differential effects of increased-pressure and increased-permeability lung edema on accuracy and sensitivity of ATV and PBF, two models of lung edema were induced by intravenous infusion of a Dextran 70 solution and alloxan monohydrate, respectively. Dogs were hyperventilated for 3 min by using a wide range of minute ventilation (VE) to produce two steady-state conditions of airway temperature. Higher levels of VE increased an estimated amount of ATV. The ATV produced by hyperventilation at VE values of 559, 158, and 72 ml.min-1.kg-1 was consistent with the gravimetric total lung mass, the blood-free wet lung weight, and the extravascular lung water volume, respectively. The coefficient of lung thermal conductivity, a practical index of the rate of heat conduction through tissue from lung vessels, was related to the ratio of the decrease in expired air temperature to VE, and estimated PBF was consistent with the thermodilution cardiac output. Pleural effusion had little effect on measurements of ATV and PBF. However, ATV and PBF showed increased variation in dogs with dextran-induced lung edema.  相似文献
