Monitoring the hydrolysis or disappearance of starch by the starch iodine test is a simple procedure for determining the maturity of cider apples, but it does not indicate the exact amount of starch present. So far, studies of starch in apples have dealt exclusively with dessert apples. In this paper the relationship between the visual starch index, the dark‐coloured surface area and the real starch content was studied in two varieties of cider apple commonly used in Normandy (France). Starch determination in cider apples required adapting the protocol provided by the Boehringer enzymatic kit. The work led to proposing a simplified index with five scales instead of 10. This index gives the correspondences between the new and old scales as well as the probable starch contents for each new scale. © 2002 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

The ring-opening polymerization of hexamethylcyclodisilazane (D2NMe), initiated by methyl triflate in 1,2-dichloroethane, forms in the first, fast kinetic step both linear polymer and cyclic dimer (D4NMe). Subsequently a slow depolymerization process occurs leading to exclusively cyclotrisilazane (D3NMe). On the basis of kinetic measurements carried out using an adiabatic calorimetric technique and complementary experiments, mechanisms of both propagation, cyclization and back-biting reactions are proposed. The influence of the reaction temperature was also studied; it is demonstrated that, at low temperature, polymerization does not lead to cyclic oligomer formation. In such conditions, the polymerization presents a ‘living’ character.  相似文献

A model for building integrated photovoltaic systems has been developed and implemented in a dynamic simulation tool. This tool takes into account the thermal interactions between the PV collector and the building. The influence of the type of integration upon the PV collector efficiency has been evaluated and hybrid PV/air collectors have been studied. An overall efficiency is defined, including the production of electricity and heat. A case study has been performed on two different typical buildings. In the case of a multi-crystalline silicon PV collector integrated on the roof of a single family house located in Paris, the efficiency of unventilated PV modules fixed on the roof is 14%. If the PV collector is used to preheat the ventilation air, the efficiency reaches 20%. A proper building integration also improves the environmental balance of PV technologies over their life cycle.  相似文献

CdS thin films and bulk precipitates were obtained by chemical bath deposition (CBD) in a well-closed reactor. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis, elemental analysis and leaching have been used to characterize solids and thin films. It has been shown that the proportion of cadmium cyanamide in solids may vary from about 50% to 2% according to physicochemical conditions in solution (time after CBD, ammonia concentration) and that CdO results from CdCN2 after air annealing of thin films. This last step also increases the crystallinity of the films.  相似文献

Thermoforming (free blowing) of poly(ethylene terephthalate) preforms was successfully and quickly performed in a rotating system designed for dielectric hysteresis heating. Temperature profile modeling was carried out with the amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) permittivity at different temperatures. The Maxwell and heat equations were used to determine the best profile and power tuning. The determination of the theoretical boundary conditions was accomplished by the adjustment of the numerical transient external surface wall temperature with experimental infrared pyrometry results. In comparison with infrared, microwaves allowed high power density absorption inside the perform wall without a dramatic temperature gradient. Consequently, the heat blowing stage could be accelerated, and the process took at least 5 times less energy than infrared heating. The electrochemical promotion of catalysis (EPOC) of propene combustion was investigated using Pt sputtered thin film on an O2− conductor, 8 mol% Y2O3-stabilized-ZrO2 (YSZ). In order to separate the influence of the thermal migration of the O2− oxide ions from the electrolyte to the catalyst surface and the impact of an electrical polarization on the catalytic activity, several light-off experiments (cool down and heat up procedures) were successively performed under different polarizations, i.e. OCV, +2 and −2 V. These experiments have clearly shown that the presence of O2− (thermally or electrochemically induced) inhibits the catalytic activity of the platinum for the propene deep oxidation. These results demonstrate the importance to define a normalized rate enhancement ratio, ρ n , from a reference value of the catalytic rate corresponding to a Pt surface state free of O2− ions.  相似文献

Upgrading the bottom of the barrel for clean fuel production, developing new engines with optimized catalytic posttreatments, implementing clean catalytic combustion technologies, improving the overall CO2 balance via catalytic processes and, lastly, developing new water purification techniques represent major upheavals in catalysis linked to refining and environmental protection. This paper, thus, will focus on the determining contribution of catalysis to the most recent achievements in these domains. A technico-economic approach will follow, underlining their main incentives and drawbacks within the framework of future environmental constraints.  相似文献

The direct electrooxidation of methanol in acid medium was studied on electrodes made of a perfluorinated membrane with small amounts of metal catalysts incorporated by chemical reduction. Platinum is a good electrocatalyst for this reaction, but needs to be modified by other metals in order to obtain oxidation potentials much more compatible with a working anode in a direct methanol fuel cell. Ruthenium and tin appear to give encouraging results, leading to a negative shift of more than 250 mV as compared to the potential obtained with pure platinum. Other parameters were investigated in this work, such as the working temperature, and the manner of introduction of the methanol into the cell. By gaseous supply, it was possible to carry out measurements at higher temperatures than with methanol in solution, and consequently to greatly improve the performance of the catalytic electrode.  相似文献

We present a technique for approximating isotropic BRDFs and precomputed self-occlusion that enables accurate and efficient prefiltered environment map rendering. Our approach uses a nonlinear approximation of the BRDF as a weighted sum of isotropic Gaussian functions. Our representation requires a minimal amount of storage, can accurately represent BRDFs of arbitrary sharpness, and is above all, efficient to render. We precompute visibility due to self-occlusion and store a low-frequency approximation suitable for glossy reflections. We demonstrate our method by fitting our representation to measured BRDF data, yielding high visual quality at real-time frame rates.  相似文献

Because activated T cells were previously shown to induce proliferation of human normal B-cell precursors (BCP) via the CD40 pathway, we investigated the effects of T cells on leukemic blasts isolated from patients with B-lineage acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL). An anti-CD3 activated human CD4+ T-cell clone was found to induce significant call proliferation in four of nine BCP-ALL samples analyzed. In one of these cases, the T-cell effect was clearly dependent on interaction between CD40 and its ligand. Accordingly, a more thorough analysis was performed on this particular leukemia (case 461, adult early pre-B-ALL, mBCR+, Philadelphia+, i(9q)+). Thus, autologous CD4+ T cells isolated from the patient were also able to induce CD40-dependent proliferation of the leukemic blasts. Analysis of the phenotype after coculture showed that, among the CD19+ cells, a proportion gradually lost expression of CD10 and CD34, whereas some cells acquired CD23. In addition, and in contrast with normal BCP, activated T cells promoted maturation of a subset of the case 461 leukemic cells into surface IgM+ cells. The leukemic origin of the cycling and the maturing cells was assessed by the presence of i(9q), a chromosomal abnormality associated with this leukemia and evidenced by fluorescence in situ hybridization. Taken together, these results show that leukemic BCP can be activated via CD40 but that not all cases display detectable stimulation in response to T cells despite their expression of CD40. In addition, the present data suggest that CD4+ T cells could potentially play a role in the physiology of BCP-ALL.  相似文献
