The carbon source and growth conditions for single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) growth in hot-wall chemical vapor deposition affect the chirality of the SWCNT ensemble produced. Raman spectroscopy elucidates the trends of the SWCNT semiconducting percentage grown under different conditions. Field-effect transistors using few SWCNTs per transistor were fabricated to allow for a semiconducting SWCNT enumeration and to confirm these trends. The semiconducting SWCNT percent in isopropanol-based devices peaked at 800 °C with 85% semiconducting. 2-Butanol-based and methane-based devices were 70% and 32% semiconducting, respectively.  相似文献

The present investigation aims to examine if waste from the essential oil industry (Laurus nobilis and Eucalyptus cinnerea) can modify the sensory attributes of dried Pleurotus ostreatus and Polyporus tenuiculus. Moreover, the conversion percentage from dry substrate weight to fresh mushroom weight (biological efficiency) and fresh fruiting body characterisation were evaluated. It was possible to obtain fruiting bodies in both aromatic substrates. This study demonstrated that the substrate composition had effects on the sensory and quality characteristics of the mushrooms. The use of aromatic plant wastes increased the intensities of the brown colour, sour, ‘mushroom’ flavour and springiness, and decreased the intensities of the bitterness and hardness. In addition, significant differences between species were observed. Pleurotus ostreatus had the highest ‘mushroom’ flavour, pungency and sour intensities, and P. tenuiculus was recognised for its cereal flavour, hardness, fibrous texture and springiness.  相似文献

This article reviews recent literature on current methodologies based on chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry to analyze phenolic compounds with endocrine‐disrupting capabilities. For this review we chose alkylphenol ethoxylates, bisphenol A, bisphenol F, and their degradation products and halogenated derivatives, which are considered important environmental contaminants. Additionally, some related compounds such as bisphenol diglycidylethers were included. Growing attention has been paid to the mass spectrometric characterization of these compounds and the instrumentation and strategies used for their quantification and confirmation. The current use of gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) and liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC–MS) methodologies with different mass spectrometers and ionization and monitoring modes is discussed. The medical analysis of human brain tumours commonly relies on indirect measurements. Among these, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) predominate in clinical settings as tools for diagnostic assistance. Pattern recognition (PR) methods have successfully been used in this task, usually interpreting diagnosis as a supervised classification problem. In MRS, the acquired spectral signal can be analyzed in an unsupervised manner to extract its constituent sources. Recently, this has been successfully accomplished using Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) methods. In this paper, we present a method to introduce the available class information into the unsupervised source extraction process of a convex variant of NMF. Novel techniques to generate diagnostic predictions for new, unseen spectra using the proposed Discriminant Convex-NMF are also described and experimentally assessed.  相似文献

Novel flexible polyurethane foams were successfully prepared from a renewable source, hydroxytelechelic natural rubber (HTNR) having different molecular weights (1000–3400 g mol?1) and variation of epoxide contents (EHTNR, 0–35% epoxidation) by a one‐shot technique. The chemical and cell structures as well as physico‐mechanical, thermal, and acoustic properties were characterized and compared with commercial polyol analogs. The obtained HTNR based foams are open cell structures with cell dimensions between 0.38 and 0.47 mm. The HTNR1000 based foam exhibits better mechanical properties but lower elongation at break than those of commercial polyol analog. However, the HTNR3400 based foam shows the best elastic properties. In a series of EHTNR based foams, the tensile and compressive strengths show a tendency to increase with increasing epoxide content and amount of 1,4‐butanediol (BD). The HTNR based foams demonstrate better low temperature flexibility than that of the foam based on commercial polyol. Moreover, the HTNR based polyurethane foams was found to be an excellent absorber of acoustics. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2010  相似文献
