Polyesters were synthesized by direct polycondensation of thiophene‐2,5‐dicarboxylic acid and five different silarylene‐containing diphenols using a tosyl chloride/pyridine/N,N‐dimethylformamide system as a condensing agent. Polymers were obtained in good yields and were characterized using Fourier transform infrared and NMR (1H, 13C, 135‐DEPT and 29Si) spectroscopy and elemental analysis. All polymers were completely soluble in aprotic organic polar solvents such as dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide and N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone. The range of effective mass of the polymers (m/z) was 1 × 105–2 × 105, determined using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. Asymmetry and steric hindrance prevented dense packing of the polymeric chains, showing glass transition temperatures between ? 78 and ? 51 °C and loss of thermal stability at 177–199 °C (10% weight loss). Additionally, the melting points of the polyesters were found to be in the range 62–67 °C. Because of this, the samples were semi‐solid at room temperature. The optical band gaps of the polymers were observed between 4.54 and 4.48 eV, corresponding in all cases to insulator behavior. The molecular structure of the samples was studied using X‐ray diffraction, showing a degree of order that was associated with two monoclinic lattices. Additionally, the conductivity was studied using a two‐point method with contacts on top of polymer films. Prior to the electrical measurement, the samples were polarized in an external electric field of 0.8 to 6.4 V cm?1, and the alignment of the dipoles increased the electrical conductivity. Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) has been applied to separation and characterisation of enzymatic (tryptic) hydrolysates of water-soluble proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt)-transgenic (Aristis-Bt) and two native non-transgenic (Aristis and Coventry) maize varieties. Water-soluble proteins were extracted from the flour of these maize species and digested by bovine pancreatic trypsin immobilised on agarose gel in 100 mM ammonium hydrocarbonate buffer, pH 7.9. The yielded tryptic digests of proteins were analysed by CZE in four acidic background electrolytes (BGEs) (100 mM H3PO4, 50 mM Tris, pH 2.25; 500 mM acetic acid, pH 2.54; 200 mM formic acid, 200 mM acetic acid, pH 2.05; and 200 mM iminodiacetic acid, pH 2.26) using a lab-made CZE apparatus equipped with bare fused silica capillary and UV-absorption detector operating at 206 nm. Among the tested BGEs, the best resolution of the tryptic peptides of extracted proteins of the above three maize species was obtained in isoelectric BGE, 200 mM iminodiacetic acid, pH 2.26. Selected resolved tryptic peptides of proteins were characterised by effective electrophoretic mobilities and corrected (migration times normalised) peak areas. Some significant relative qualitative and quantitative differences in CZE-UV profiling of tryptic protein digests were found, which can be potentially used to differentiate transgenic Aristis Bt and non-transgenic Aristis varieties or two native non-transgenic varieties, Aristis and Coventry. 相似文献

The evaluated spectroscopic data are presented for 11 known nuclides of mass 211 (Hg, Tl, Pb, Bi, Po, At, Rn, Fr, Ra, Ac, Th). The 211Pa nuclide is included here but its identification remains uncertain. For 211Hg, 211Tl, 211Ac and 211Th nuclei, only the ground–state information is available. Their decay characteristics are mostly unknown. 211Fr is suggested to decay partially through ε decay mode, but its decay scheme remains poorly known. While high–spin excitations, including several isomers, are well studied in 211Pb, 211Bi, 211Po, 211At, 211Rn and 211Fr, the particle–transfer data are available for only 211Po and 211Bi.This evaluation was carried out as part of joint IAEA–ICTP workshop for Nuclear Structure and Decay Data, organized and hosted by the IAEA, Vienna and ICTP, Trieste, August 6–17, 2012. Matrices with distances between pairs of locations are essential for solving vehicle routing problems like the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP), Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) and others. This work deals with the complex reality of transportation networks and asymmetry. Through a series of comprehensive and thorough computational and statistical experiments we study the effect that many factors like asymmetry, geographical location of the depot and clients, demand, territory and maximum vehicle capacity have in the solution of CVRP instances. We examine both classical heuristics as well as current state-of-the-art metaheuristics and show that these methods are seriously affected by the studied factors from a solution time and quality of solutions perspective. We systematically compare the solutions obtained in the symmetric scenario with those obtained in the real asymmetric case at a quantitative as well as a qualitative level, with the objective of carefully measuring and understanding the differences between both cases. 相似文献

Chlorella vulgaris has been referred as a potential source of bioactive compounds (carotenoids and fatty acids). In this work, the ability of an environmentally friendly extraction technique such as Pressurized Liquid Extraction (PLE) and a traditional extraction technique such as Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction (UAE) to obtain functional compounds from C. vulgaris, at analytical scale, has been demonstrated. Seeked bioactivities were antioxidant and antimicrobial, for their interest in the food industry. Therefore, a methodology including analytical extraction, in-vitro assays and chemical characterization via HPLC-DAD and GC–MS has been used to determine the interest of Chlorella as a source of functional food ingredients. Results demonstrated that PLE provide higher yields than UAE while similar bioactivities were obtained. Important concentration of carotenoids (lutein, neoxanthin, β-carotene, etc.), chlorophylls, sterols, phytols, and fatty acids (among others) have been found in Chlorella extracts that could be correlated to the observed biological activity. 相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to present the structural design procedure of a low‐speed, horizontal axis, bio‐inspired wind turbine blade made of carbon/epoxy. The methodology initiates with the mechanical characterization of the carbon fiber composite material. An aerodynamic simulation using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method is performed in order to obtain the pressure distribution profile of the blade. This result is coupled with a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to carry out an iterative design process through a Fluid‐Structure Interaction (FSI) simulation. Different stacking sequences of laminates are evaluated to find a configuration which allows balance between aerodynamic and dynamic inertial loads, ensuring an almost undeformed geometry during wind turbine's operation. The final structural design of the blade consists in six regions with different laminates. These are balanced and symmetric with distinct thickness characteristics and stacking sequences, which vary in three different orientations: 0°, ± 45° and 90°, achieving a minimum deflection at the tip close to 3.11 cm, and a total weight of 3.6 kg of a 1.8 m radius blade, even with the restrictions imposed by the non‐conventional geometry. We consider the problem of managing a bounded size First-In-First-Out (FIFO) queue buffer, where each incoming unit-sized packet requires several rounds of processing before it can be transmitted out. Our objective is to maximize the total number of successfully transmitted packets. We consider both push-out (when a policy is permitted to drop already admitted packets) and non-push-out cases. We provide worst-case guarantees for the throughput performance of our algorithms, proving both lower and upper bounds on their competitive ratio against the optimal algorithm, and conduct a comprehensive simulation study that experimentally validates predicted theoretical behavior. 相似文献

The Maxim's Electron Scatter Chamber (Maxim Chamber) was developed to obtain uniform dose distribution when applying electron beam (e-beam) irradiation to materials of irregular surface. This was achieved by placing a stainless steel mesh surrounding a cylindrical area where the target sample was placed. Upon contact with the mesh, electrons scatter and are directed onto the target from multiple angles, eliminating the e-beam linearity and resulting in a uniform dose distribution over the target surface. The effect of irradiation in the Maxim Chamber on dose distribution and pathogen reduction was tested on rabbit carcasses to simulate other larger carcasses. The dose uniformity ratio (DUR) on the rabbit carcasses was 1.8, indicating an acceptable dose distribution. On inoculated carcasses, this treatment reduced Escherichia coli O157:H7 by > 5 log cycles. These results indicate that carcass irradiation using e-beam is feasible using the Maxim's electron scattering chamber. Appropriate adjustments will be further needed for commercial application on beef and other animal carcasses. 相似文献

The Finite Difference Thermal Contrast (FDTC) is a new technique based on the approximation to the discretization of the Fourier heat propagation model in 3D, in order to be applied on a sequence of infrared images to enhance contrast for automatic detection and characterization of flaws in composite slabs. This contrast enhancement is performed by the calculus of relative error between predicted and real temperature over the heated surface only and for each pixel, in such a way that defective regions will exhibit greater errors than sound ones. Thermal sequences from a simulated Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) slab with air-filled defects, and from a real CFRP slab sample with Teflon squared defects, are used to evaluate and compare the enhancement obtained from FDTC, Normalized Contrast (NC) and Modified Differential Absolute Contrast (m-DAC). In spite of the need of executing an additional background compensation in case of real slabs, results show that the proposed technique offers a better contrast between defects and background than the other techniques (about 33 % less residuary thermal non-uniformity with the adjusted version—FDTCa), mainly because of the more energy of the resulting thermal profiles. Also, as this technique does not estimate the temperature distribution along depth axis, but approximates temperature after a spatial step only, it can run faster than other thermal reconstruction methods like the classic 3D thermal filtering. 相似文献
