The notion of environment is receiving an increasing attention in the development of multiagent applications. This is witnessed by the emergence of a number of infrastructures providing agent designers with useful means to develop the agent environment, and thus to structure an effective multiagent application. In this paper we analyse the role and features of such infrastructures, and survey some relevant examples. We endorse a general viewpoint where the environment of a multiagent system is seen as a set of basic bricks we call environment abstractions, which (i) provide agents with services useful for achieving individual and social goals, and (ii) are supported by some underlying software infrastructure managing their creation and exploitation. Accordingly, we focus the survey on the opportunities that environment infrastructures provide to system designers when developing multiagent applications.  相似文献

This article studies the exponential stabilization problem for discrete-time switched linear systems based on a control-Lyapunov function approach. It is proved that a switched linear system is exponentially stabilizable if and only if there exists a piecewise quadratic control-Lyapunov function. Such a converse control-Lyapunov function theorem justifies many of the earlier synthesis methods that have adopted piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions for convenience or heuristic reasons. In addition, it is also proved that if a switched linear system is exponentially stabilizable, then it must be stabilizable by a stationary suboptimal policy of a related switched linear-quadratic regulator (LQR) problem. Motivated by some recent results of the switched LQR problem, an efficient algorithm is proposed, which is guaranteed to yield a control-Lyapunov function and a stabilizing policy whenever the system is exponentially stabilizable.  相似文献

The production of Mozzarella di Bufala Campana (MBC) is relevant for the agro-food economy of the Campania Region of Italy and the mark of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) has been assigned to MBC in relation to its geographical origin. Advanced analytical methods must be then employed to assess authenticity, traceability, and quality of MBC. 1H HRMAS-NMR (High Resolution Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopy was applied here to directly identify specific metabolites in MBC intact samples without time-consuming sample pre-treatments. Overcrowded conventional 1H HRMAS-NMR spectra were selectively simplified with two NMR pulse sequences: eCPMG and eDiff, by modulating spin-spin relaxation times and diffusion of MBC molecular components, respectively. Signal elaboration of edited spectra was combined with multivariate analyses to enable significant metabolic differentiation between MBC samples from two different production sites in Campania. Principal Components Analysis (PCA) for eCPMG spectra explained 97.54% of total variance between the two MBC groups for four metabolites (β-galactose, β-lactose, acetic acid, and glycerol). Less efficient was groups distinction by PCA for eDiff spectra, although differences in polyunsaturated acids, such as linoleic and linolenic acids, were highlighted. Similarly, Discriminant Analysis (DA) provided MBC group classification with 100% success in validation tests for eCPMG spectra, while DA prediction ability was reduced to 94.12% for eDiff spectra. Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) gave a totally correct classification between the two MBC groups only for eCPMG spectra. eCPMG spectra were also used to identify metabolites during MBC aging. As compared to fresh samples, 2 days old MBC samples showed increasing signals for isobutylic alcohol, lactic acid, and acetic acid. This work shows that 1H HRMAS-NMR spectroscopy can rapidly characterise the metabolic profile of intact MBC samples and statistically distinguish the geographical origin of buffalo milk mozzarella and its freshness.  相似文献

This paper studies the problem of congestion control on wireless networks. A dynamical model for the end‐to‐end network flow control that exploits the differentiation between congestion loss and physical channel error loss is proposed. The introduction of a specific wireless model is motivated by the distinctive presence of channel errors, which are often not known exactly. We assume that each wireless link is associated with an additional error function that depends on the current flow along the link and that accounts for the packet loss rate caused by the physical channel. This leads to a new dynamic flow control scheme that naturally extends a known mathematical model for the fluid‐flow approximation of the Transmission Control Protocol for wireline networks. The main objective of this work is to study the dynamical properties of the new model: we analyze its nonlinear dynamics, derive its stability properties, and study its robustness to delays. We also present and discuss some ns‐2 simulations of its dynamics. This work additionally looks at the actual implementation of the proposed scheme: by requiring only modifications to the application layer rather than the transport one, no alterations to the network infrastructure or transport protocols are needed. The article argues that the new scheme appears to be not only theoretically meaningful but also practically relevant for an application layer implementation. Several application domains involve detecting complex situations and reacting to them. This asks for a Complex Event Processing (CEP) middleware specifically designed to timely process large amounts of event notifications as they flow from the peripheral to the center of the system, to identify the composite events relevant for the application. To answer this need we designed T-Rex, a new CEP middleware that combines expressiveness and efficiency. On the one hand, it adopts a language (TESLA) explicitly conceived to easily and naturally describe composite events. On the other hand, it provides an efficient event detection algorithm based on automata to interpret TESLA rules. Our evaluation shows that the T-Rex engine can process a large number of complex rules with a reduced overhead, even in the presence of challenging workloads.  相似文献

The food industry has a direct interest into bitter-tasting substances either for the identification of negative off-flavors or for the monitoring of a desired organoleptic quality. A rapid technique, based on Fourier transform-near infrared (FT-NIR) spectroscopy and able to detect taste molecular markers in bakery commodities, was developed, focusing the attention on biscuits category. Xanthines (caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline) and polyphenols (catechins and epicathechins), considered as mainly responsible for the bitter-taste of coffee\cocoa\chocolate based products, were firstly checked using a confirmatory liquid chromatography (LC)-ESI\mass spectrometry (MS)-MS procedure after hot methanol–water extraction. Correspondent data were used for the calibration of the FT-NIR through PLS regression. Values of the standard errors of prediction (lower than 10 %) were comparable to the values of the standard errors of cross-validation. Coefficients of determination indicated a good predictive power in the calibration model (R 2 xanthines?=?0.97, R 2 polyphenols?=?0.96) and a satisfying discriminating power among different contents in the validation models (R 2 xanthines?=?0.96, R 2 polyphenols?=?0.96). A testing phase on the generated model was executed by a comparison of LC-MS and sensory panel data with FT-NIR responses recorded on unknown biscuits: differences between found and predicted levels were generally below 5 % and the best predictability was achievable in chocolate-based biscuits. This methodology is able to work directly on solid products, has the potential to be expanded on other categories of gustative molecular markers (like sugars) and can be conceived as applicable for a routine control of a standardized bitter taste quality in a real industrial production.  相似文献

In order to elucidate the role of this element in superalloy metallurgy, the binding energy of Re–Re pairs and the stability of small Re clusters in the nickel face-centred cubic (fcc) lattice is investigated using ab initio density functional theory. It is shown that the formation of Re–Re nearest neighbour pairs is energetically unfavourable, and that this repulsive energy is dramatically reduced as soon as the solute atoms move further apart from one another. Furthermore, small nearest neighbour and second neighbour Re clusters are found to be unstable. The calculations are repeated for W and Ta, which lie beside Re in the periodic table; the results are essentially the same, except that some Ta–Ta higher order pairs have a positive binding energy, consistent with the Ni–Ta binary phase diagram exhibiting several ordered intermetallics. The predictions show that Re clusters are unstable in fcc Ni and it is unlikely that clustering has a role in improving creep and fatigue properties (the rhenium-effect) in Ni-based superalloys.  相似文献

The AS-level topology of the Internet has been quite a hot research topic in the last few years. However, only a small number of studies have been developed that give a structural interpretation of this graph. Such an interpretation is crucially important in order to test protocols and optimal routing algorithms, to design efficient networks, and for failure detection purposes. Moreover, most research does not highlight the role that IXPs have on the AS-level structure of the Internet, although their role is recognized as fundamental.The initial contribution of this study is an analysis of the most important AS-level topologies that are publicly found on the web and an analysis of the topology obtained when they are merged. We compiled structural information from this topology making considerable use of the k-core decomposition technique to delineate various particular classes of nodes. Next, we associated node properties with a reasonable modus operandi of the ASs on the Internet. The second contribution is a study of the impact that ASs connected to IXPs and BGP connections crossing IXPs have on the AS-level topology. To achieve this, we developed a procedure to gather reliable information related to IXPs and their participants.  相似文献
