A complex optimization of the arc melting synthetic approach was performed to enhance the phase purity of Cr2AlC MAX-phase in the bulk form. Optimization steps included the initial ratio of 2Cr: xAl: 1C, variation through a change in Al content (i.e. x ranging from 1 to 1.5), tuning duration of the post-annealing thermal treatment and adjustment of the melting chamber pressure. The use of Cr3C2 as a precursor in place of Cr and C mixture has also been tried. It was found that Cr2AlC MAX-phase forms as the predominant phase when a stoichiometric ratio 2Cr: 1.3Al: 1C is used. By keeping this stoichiometry constant, the melting chamber pressure was then adjusted to further improve the phase purity of the samples. It has been established that the use of Cr3C2 is not an appropriate way to improve sample purity and promote homogeneity in the carbon distribution. The establishment of an optimized arc fusion protocol for parental Cr2AlC is a necessity for further successful mass synthesis of the substituted (Cr1-xMnx)2AlC MAX-phase.  相似文献

We report four cases of blood cultures testing positive for yeast strains belonging to the species Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Using molecular techniques, RFLP of mtDNA and δ-PCR amplification, we show the association of two of the isolates with non-clinical strains. Specifically, with two commercial bread-making strains and the therapeutic S. boulardii strain. The association of S. boulardii with cases of fungemia has been reported previously. Nevertheless, this is the first time that a baker's yeast has been isolated from blood.  相似文献

Grape seed extract has been proven to exert anticancer effects on different tumors. These effects are mainly ascribed to catechin and procyanidin content. Analytical studies demonstrated that grape seed extract composition is complex and it is likely other components could exert biological activities. Using cell count and flow cytometry assays, we evaluated the cytostatic and apoptotic effects produced by three different grape seed extracts from Italia, Palieri and Red Globe cultivars, on Caco2 and HCT-8 colon cancer cells. These effects were compared to those induced by epigallocatechin and procyanidins, alone or in association, on the same cell lines. All the extracts induced growth inhibition and apoptosis in Caco2 and HCT-8 cells, along the intrinsic apoptotic pathway. On both cell lines, growth inhibition induced by Italia and Palieri grape seed extracts was significantly higher than that it has been recorded with epigallocatechin, procyanidins and their association. In Caco2 cells, the extract from Red Globe cultivar was less effective in inducing growth inhibition than procyanidins alone and in association with epigallocatechin, whereas, in HCT-8 cells, only the association of epigallocatechin and procyanidins triggers a significant proliferation decrease. On both cell lines, apoptosis induced by Italia, Palieri and Red Globe grape seed extracts was considerably higher than has been recorded with epigallocatechin, procyanidins and their association. These data support the hypothesis by which other compounds, present in the grape seed extracts, are likely to enhance the anticancer effects.  相似文献

Vibrios are a group of major foodborne pathogens widely distributed in marine environment. Vibrio cholerae, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, and Vibrio vulnificus are the pathogenic species of Vibrio that pose the greatest threat to human health. However, other vibrios, e.g. Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio mimicus and Grimontia hollisae, apparently less relevant in the group of foodborne pathogens, have been sporadically found in outbreaks. For seafood safety and economic purposes, a rapid and powerful method for the specific identification of harmful Vibrio strains is needed. We developed a PCR-Ligase Detection Reaction-Universal Array (PCR-LDR-UA) assay for the simultaneous identification of pathogenic vibrios and detection of virulence coding genes. The entire procedure was validated on a total of 31 reference strains and isolates from clinical and environmental samples, as well as on bivalve tissue homogenates infected with different strains of target Vibrio species. Twenty-three shellfish samples directed to human consumption were successfully screened, thus demonstrating that the developed microarray-based platform could be a reliable and sensitive detection tool for the identification of harmful Vibrio strains in seafood.  相似文献

In this study, six enological tannins (T1–T6) from different source were analysed by selected analytical techniques, including UV–Vis, FTIR, NMR, SEC, LC-MS/MS and electronic nose. Moreover, the samples were tested for their antioxidant activity. Spectra and chromatograms are considered as a fingerprint with a pattern that is distinctive for a given type of sample. In particular, tannins showed the maximum UV–Vis absorbance (λmax) at 273–280 nm, the inflection point (λmin) at 247–264 nm, and the ratio λmax/λmin was 1.03, 1.35, 1.67, 1.36, 2.15, 2.02 for tannin T1–T6, respectively. The FTIR analysis of tannins showed the presence of most important absorption bands at 1522, 1453, 1380, 1350, 1328, 1286, 1210, 1148 and 1044 cm−1. Besides, SEC and NMR analysis allowed to sort the tannins according to their average DP as follows: T1 > T2 = T4 > T3 > T6 = T5. Based on this multiple techniques approach three condensed tannins (sample T3, T5 and T6) were clearly identified, together with two mixtures of hydrolysable tannins (sample T1 and T2), whereas one sample (T4) showed a peculiar pattern different from the commercial tannin commonly used in enology.  相似文献

A series of chiral 2,3‐dichlorophenoxy and 1‐naphthyloxy alkylamines were synthesized, and their binding affinities towards 5‐HT1D and h5‐HT1B receptors were evaluated. In the naphthyloxy series, the (R)‐prolinol derivative was the most selective 5‐HT1D ligand, while (S)‐N‐methyl‐2‐(1‐naphthyloxy)propan‐1‐amine showed the highest selectivity for h5‐HT1B. Both compounds performed as 5‐HT1D agonists in the isolated guinea pig assay and showed higher analgesic activity than both sumatriptan and the achiral analogue 20 b in the mouse hot‐plate test. Neither ligand displayed any affinity for nicotinic ACh receptors present in mouse brain membranes, thus indicating that their analgesic activity does not arise through interaction with these receptors.  相似文献

Oxide incorporation into thermoelectric Mg2Si-based materials was performed starting from commercial Mg2Si and commercial metal oxides by applying ball milling and spark plasma sintering (SPS) processing. The SPS conditions, such as sintering temperature, pressure, and holding time, were optimized with the aim of obtaining both full densification and oxide incorporation. Thermoelectric characterizations, such as Seebeck coefficient and electrical and thermal conductivity, were carried out and related to the pellet compositions. The morphology, composition, and crystallographic structure of the samples were characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometry, and x-ray diffraction analyses, respectively.  相似文献
