A total of 50 samples of poultry feed mixtures of Slovakian origin were analyzed for eight toxicologically significant Fusarium mycotoxins, namely zearalenone (ZON), A-trichothecenes: diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS), T-2 toxin (T-2) and HT-2 toxin (HT-2) and B-trichothecenes: deoxynivalenol (DON), 3-acetyl-deoxynivalenol (3-ADON), 15-acetyl-deoxynivalenol (15-ADON) and nivalenol (NIV). The A-trichothecenes and the B-trichothecenes were detected by means of high pressure liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry detection (HPLC-MS/MS) and gas chromatography electron capture detection (GC-ECD), respectively. Reversed phase-high performance liquid chromatography with a fluorescence detector (RP-HPLC-FLD) was used for ZON detection. The most frequent mycotoxin detected was T-2, which was found in 45 samples (90%) in relatively low concentrations ranging from 1 to 130 microg kg(-1) (average 13 microg kg(-1)), followed by ZON that was found in 44 samples (88%) in concentrations ranging from 3 to 86 microg kg(-1) (average 21 microg kg(-1)). HT-2 and DON were detected in 38 (76%) and 28 (56%) samples, respectively, in concentrations of 2 to 173 (average 18 microg kg(-1)) for HT-2 and 64 to 1230 microg kg(-1) sample (average 303 microg kg(-1)) for DON. The acetyl-derivatives of DON were in just four samples, while NIV was not detected in any of the samples investigated. In as many as 22 samples (44%), a combination of four simultaneously co-occurring mycotoxins, i.e. T-2, HT-2, ZON and DON, was revealed. Despite the limited number of samples investigated during this study poultry feed mixtures may represent a risk from a toxicological point of view and should be regarded as a potential source of the Fusarium mycotoxins in Central Europe. Copper-based bactericides have appeared as a new tool in crop protection and offer an effective solution to combat bacterial resistance. In this work, two copper nanoparticle products that were previously synthesized and evaluated against major bacterial and fungal pathogens were tested on their ability to control the bacterial spot disease of tomato. Growth of Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria, the causal agent of the disease, was significantly suppressed by both nanoparticles, which had superior function compared to conventional commercial formulations of copper. X-ray fluorescence spectrometry measurements in tomato leaves revealed that bioavailability of copper is superior in the case of nanoparticles compared to conventional formulations and is dependent on synthesis rather than size. Dielectric elastomers are promising materials for actuators resembling human muscle. Among elastomers, acrylic rubbers (ACM) have shown good actuation performance but its use is limited by the high operating voltages required. The present work demonstrates that simultaneous incorporation of nanostructured carbon black and dielectric fillers offers an increase in a dielectric permittivity and a suitable modulus of the elastomers matrix, enabling an improved electro‐mechanical actuation performance at low voltages. By the use of reinforcing carbon black and barium titanate in an acrylic elastomer matrix a sixfold increase in the dielectric permittivity was realized. A fine tuning of the actuation stress and, consequently, actuation strain can be done by a judicial selection of the different filler concentrations in the soft rubber matrix. Finally, a synergistic effect of the fillers was observed in the improved actuation performance of the developed materials. The distribution of mixing in a split-cylinder gas-lift bioreactor has been investigated for suspensions of immobilized Yarrowia lipolytica cells with particles diameter varying between 3 and 4.2 mm. The results indicated important variation of mixing time on the height of riser or downcomer, as well as different behavior of suspensions flows in these two regions. Therefore, for the riser, the mixing efficiency increases from its bottom to the top, allowing the biocatalyst particles with intermediate size (3.6-mm diameter) reaching the most intense circulation of suspension. The analysis of the suspension flow in the downcomer region revealed that the intermediate positions are associated with the highest mixing mainly for the largest immobilized yeast particles (4.2-mm diameter). In both cases, the influence of aeration on turbulence extent is positive only for air superficial velocity up to 1.05–1.35 × 10?3 m/s, the magnitude of this effect being correlated with the biocatalyst size and position on the riser or downcomer. By means of the experimental data, mathematical correlations for mixing time have been proposed for each circulation region, taking into consideration both the operational parameters and the distance from the bioreactor bottom. Thermodynamics of the Na1−x Li x NbO3 system is investigated by high-temperature drop-solution calorimetry in molten 3Na2 O–4MoO3 solvent at 973 K. Standard molar enthalpies of formation are derived. The estimated heats of transition between hypothetical and stable structures, lithium niobate and perovskite for NaNbO3 and vice versa for LiNbO3 are −6 kJ/mol and −10 kJ/mol, respectively. X-ray diffraction studies at room temperature showed for 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.14 there are three phases based on different ordering of the perovskite type lattice: orthorhombic with a quadrupled reduced perovskite cell at 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.02, orthorhombic with a doubled reduced perovskite cell at 0.015 ≤ x ≤ 0.14, and rhombohedral at 0.08 ≤ x ≤ 0.13. There are two two-phase (morphotropic) regions with coexistence of the two orthorhombic phases at 0.015 ≤ x ≤ 0.02 and with the second orthorhombic phase coexisting with the rhombohedral phase at 0.08 ≤ x ≤ 0.13. A reproducible anomaly in specific heat at ∼600 K, not reported previously, has been observed in pure NaNbO3 . Heat-capacity measurements confirm a phase transition at 553 K for 0.07 ≤ x ≤ 0.09. With increasing lithium concentration, a gradual disappearance of high-temperature phase transitions associated with tilting of oxygen octahedra has been observed. 相似文献

Oil migration in filled pralines is a phenomenon that is highly correlated with the occurrence of chocolate bloom. In this study the potential to suppress or prevent oil migration by incorporation of sterol/sterolster-structured organogels was evaluated. Different quantities, 2.5 or 14% (w/w), of gel with structurant levels of either 10 or 25% (w/w) were studied in a layered model system. The gel was either a part of the nougat or of the chocolate phase, or as a separate layer. Samples were monitored regularly for a period of 24 weeks at storage temperatures of 10, 18 and 28 °C. The amount of migrated oil was determined via DSC analysis of a surface sample. The results indicate that, despite the additional oil brought into the system via the oleogel, the level of oil found in the chocolate layer is reduced through the presence of the gel. In particular, the three-layer system and gelled chocolate appear to be promising routes to either suppress oil migration or improve nutritional profiles by incorporation of liquid oils. 相似文献

This paper presents the results of an extensive analytical investigation on the mechanisms involved in filtration of biological sludges by studying the changes in the “bound water” content of activated and mixed digested sludges when they were subjected to several physical, and chemical processes. A new method for determining bound water in sludges, based on differential thermal analysis (DTA), was developed which proved reliable and fast. Water in sludges exist in two states, as “free” or bulk water and as “bound” water which is held by the solid state either by sorption on specific sites, i.e. functional groups of the proteins and other macromolecules and/or restricted within pores and capillaries. Water binding by sludge displayed similar behaviour to the absorption of ions.All chemical coagulants (FeCl3, AlCl3, FeSO4) and cationic polyelectrolytes resulted in a reduction of the specific resistance and the bound water content of the sludge which was due to the replacement of water molecules by the adsorbed coagulant. Heat treatment of activated and digested sludge at 130°C resulted in a reduction of bound water by 30% whereas freezing and thawing reduced bound water by 70%. 相似文献

Eight years of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) concentration measurements from Alert, Nunavut, Canada (between 1995 and 2002) is presented. The annual time series shows a distinct repeating seasonal pattern with an overall annual median concentration for this time period of 1.58 (S.D.=0.04 ng m(-3)). Strong seasonal variation was observed throughout the years with springtime displaying strong variability in the GEM and overall lower median concentrations due to the so-called mercury depletion events (MDEs). Summer concentrations are higher than the annual average and show a decrease in variability. Fall and winter concentrations are distributed around the annual median concentrations and show little variability. The relationship between the springtime depression and the summer increase shows a change in the behaviour of mercury between 1995 and 2002. Preliminary results suggest that during this period an increasing amount of the mercury lost from the atmosphere in the spring is not returned to atmosphere in summer. A comparison of GEM concentration data from three sites--Alert (Canada), Amderma (Russia) and Kuujjuarapik (Canada)--demonstrated similar monthly distribution of GEM between Alert and Amderma, with the latter not showing as high summer concentrations. Monthly distribution of GEM at Kuujjuarapik varied considerably from the other two sites. MDEs were found to occur at each site in the spring yet displayed different characteristics. MDEs appear to start at Alert shortly after polar sunrise but in Amderma their initiation is delayed approximately 2 months following polar sunrise. MDEs occur in Kuujjuarapik in the springtime despite an incomplete development of the polar day-night cycle. In spring, as soon as air temperature attained temperatures consistently above 0 degrees C, MDEs ended immediately at all three sites. Continued studies into MDEs are warranted, but clearly an important component of future studies must focus on the origins of the variation of GEM behaviour at different sites. 相似文献

Small scale miners use mercury to extract gold from ore in many countries. An environmental and health assessment was performed in Indonesia in two regions, Galangan in Central Kalimantan and Talawaan in Northern Sulawesi. The environmental assessment showed severe mercury contamination of the sediments, and increased mercury levels in local fish. For the health investigation 281 volunteers were recruited and examined by a standardized questionnaire, a neurological examination and neuro-psychological tests. A medical score was used consisting of significant factors of mercury intoxication. Mercury exposed workers showed typical symptoms of mercury intoxication, such as movement disorders (ataxia, tremor, dysdiadochokinesia, etc.). Blood, urine and hair samples were taken from any participant and analyzed for mercury. The mercury concentration in the biomonitors was high, partly extreme high in the working population, increased in the population living in the same habitat and low in the control group. By a standard protocol which includes a combination of threshold values of mercury in the biomonitors and a medical sum score the diagnosis of chronic mercury intoxication was made for highly burdened workers (amalgam smelters) in 55% in Sulawesi and in 62% in Kalimantan. Less exposed mineral processors and the general population in the mining areas were also intoxicated to a high percentage. 相似文献

Conventional thermal barrier coating (TBC) systems consist of a duplex structure with a metallic bondcoat and a ceramic, heat-isolative
topcoat. Several recent research activities are concentrating on developing improved bondcoat or topcoat materials; for the
topcoat especially, those with reduced thermal conductivity are investigated. Using advanced topcoat materials, the ceramic
coating can be further divided into layers with different functions. One example is the double-layer system in which conventional
yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) is used as bottom and new materials such as pyrochlores or perovskites are used as topcoat
layers. These systems demonstrated an improved temperature capability compared to standard YSZ. In addition, new functions
are introduced within the TBCs. These can be sensorial properties that can be used for an improved temperature control or
even for monitoring remaining lifetime. Further increased application temperatures will also lead to efforts for a further
improvement of the reflectivity of the coatings to reduce the radiative heat transfer through the TBC. 相似文献
