The X-ray Integral Field Unit (X-IFU) is one of the two instruments of the Athena astrophysics space mission approved by ESA in the Cosmic Vision Science Program. The X-IFU consists of a large array of TES microcalorimeters that will operate at?~?50 mK inside a sophisticated cryostat. A set of thin filters, highly transparent to X-rays, will be mounted on the cryostat thermal shields in order to attenuate the IR radiative load, to attenuate RF electromagnetic interferences, and to protect the detector from contamination. In this paper, we present the current thermal filters design, describe the filter samples developed/procured so far, and present preliminary results from the ongoing characterization tests.  相似文献

The different inflow performance relationships (IPRs) that have been proposed in geothermal and petroleum reservoir engineering are reviewed. The applicability of these relationships to well production tests is analyzed, and the geothermal IPRs for pure water, for the binary H2O–CO2 and ternary H2O–CO2–NaCl mixtures (with different salinities) are presented. The method to determine the maximum flow rate for a well is described. Two representative IPRs for petroleum systems and two for geothermal systems that consider the fluid as a ternary mixture H2O–CO2–NaCl (for salinities less than 5%, and between 5% and 20%) are compared. It is concluded that IPRs may be used to determine the maximum flowrate of a well at any time during its productive life.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

As the 2003 European heatwave demonstrated, overheating in homes can cause wide-scale fatalities. With temperatures and heatwave frequency predicted to increase due to climate change, such events can be expected to become more common. Thus, investigating the risk of overheating in buildings is key to understanding the scale of the problem and in designing solutions. Most work on this topic has been theoretical and based on lightweight dwellings that might be expected to overheat. By contrast, this study collects temperature and air quality data over two years for vulnerable and non-vulnerable UK homes where overheating would not be expected to be common. Overheating was found to occur, particularly and disproportionately in households with vulnerable occupants. As the summers in question were not extreme and contained no prolonged heatwaves, this is a significant and worrying finding. The vulnerable homes were also found to have worse indoor air quality. This suggests that some of the problem might be solved by enhancing indoor ventilation. The collected thermal comfort survey data were also validated against the European adaptive model. Results suggest that the model underestimates discomfort in warm conditions, having implications for both vulnerable and non-vulnerable homes.  相似文献

Bacterial biofilm development is a serious problem in many fields, and the existing biofilm monitoring sensors often turn out to be inadequate. In this perspective, a new sensor (ALVIM) has been developed, exploiting the natural marine and freshwater biofilms electrochemical activity, proportional to surface covering. The results presented in this work, obtained testing the ALVIM system both in laboratory and in an industrial environment, show that the sensor gives a fast and accurate response to biofilm growth, and that this response can be used to optimize cleaning treatments inside pipelines. Compared to the existing biofilm sensors, the proposed system show significant technological innovations, higher sensitivity and precision.  相似文献

Power production from renewable energy resources is increasing day by day. In the case of Spain, in 2009 it represented 26.9% of installed power and 20.1% of energy production. Wind energy makes the most important contribution to this production. Wind generators are greatly affected by the restrictive operating rules of electricity markets because, as wind is naturally variable, wind generators may have serious difficulties in submitting accurate generation schedules on a day-ahead basis, and in complying with scheduled obligations. Weather forecast systems have errors in their predictions depending on wind speed. Therefore, if wind energy becomes an important actor in the energy production system, these fluctuations could compromise grid stability. In the previous paper in this brief series [1], the authors showed technical results of the proposed solution, which consists of combining wind energy production with a biomass gasification system and a hydrogen generation system based on these two sources. In the present paper it is shown the economic results of the study, considering the most profitable technical configurations and three possible economic scenarios.  相似文献
