A 3.3-V 16-Mb nonvolatile memory having operation virtually identical to DRAM with package pin compatibility has been developed. Read and write operations are fully DRAM compatible except for a longer RAS precharge time after write. Fast random access time of 63 ns with the NAND flash memory cell is achieved by using a hierarchical row decoder scheme and a unique folded bit-line architecture which also allows bit-by-bit program verify and inhibit operation. Fast page mode with a column address access time of 21 ns is achieved by sensing and latching 4 k cells simultaneously. To allow byte alterability, nonvolatile restore operation with self-contained erase is developed. Self-contained erase is word-line based, and increased cell disturb due to the word-line based erase is relaxed by adding a boosted bit-line scheme to a conventional self-boosting technique. The device is fabricated in a 0.5-μm triple-well, p-substrate CMOS process using two-metal and three-poly interconnect layers. A resulting die size is 86.6 mm2, and the effective cell size including the overhead of string select transistors is 2.0 μm2  相似文献

To increase the output efficiency of a photovoltaic (PV) system, it is important to apply an efficient maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique. This paper describes the analysis, the design and the experimental implementation of the tracking methods for a stand-alone PV system, using two approaches. The first one is the constant voltage (CV) MPPT method based on the optimum voltage, which was deduced experimentally, and considered as a reference value to extract the optimum power. The second one is the increment conductance (Inc-Cond) MPPT method based on the calculation of the power derivative extracted by the installation. The output controller can adjust the duty ratio to the optimum value. This optimum duty ratio is the input of a DC/DC boost converter which feeds a set of Moto-pump via a DC/AC inverter. This paper presents the details of the two approaches implemented, based on the system performance characteristics. Contributions are made in several aspects of the system, including converter design, system simulation, controller programming, and experimental setup. The MPPT control algorithms implemented extract the maximum power point (MPP), with satisfactory performance and without steady-state oscillation. MATLAB/Simulink and dSpace DS1104 are used to conduct studies and implement algorithms. The two proposed methods have been validated by implementing the performance of the PV pumping systems installed on the roof of the research laboratory in INSAT Tunisia. Experimental results verify the feasibility and the improved functionality of the system.  相似文献

The effect of the heat loss from the piping system of a solar collector field of a large size is measured and the effect of this loss on the effective collector efficiency is evaluated. The data are used to develop a model that can be used to evaluate the effect of piping loss on collector efficiency for solar field of different areas. The collector field used in this study consists of 1064 evacuated tube collectors; each one has an absorber area of 1.75 m2. They are connected in a series–parallel arrangement and designed in a U-shape. Measurements of the heat loss in the piping system indicate that a drop in the collector efficiency occurs due to this heat loss. The effect of the heat loss on the collector efficiency was found to depend on the collector x-parameter with higher x corresponding to larger efficiency drop. The standard Hottel–Whillier–Bliss (HWB) equation for the collector efficiency was modified so that the form of the equation is maintained while the parameters change due to the inclusion of piping loss in the equation. The modified parameters were estimated for the collector field based on measurement and the data were used in the model to generalize the results for field with different piping to collector area ratios.  相似文献

This laminar fluid study investigates the effects of a magnetic field on the entropy generation during fluid flow and heat transfer due to an exponentially stretching sheet. Using the suitable transformations we have obtained the analytical solutions for momentum and energy equation in terms of Kummer's function. The velocity and temperature profiles are obtained for various physical parameters which are utilized to find the entropy generation number Ns and the Bejan number Be. Dynamic bandwidth allocation for quality-of-service over Ethernet PONs   总被引:24,自引:0,他引:24  
Ethernet-based passive optical network (EPON) technology is being considered as a promising solution for next-generation broadband access networks due to the convergence of low-cost Ethernet equipment and low-cost fiber infrastructures. A major feature for this new architecture is the use of a shared transmission media between all users; hence, medium access control arbitration mechanisms are essential for the successful implementation of EPON: i.e., to ensure a contention-free transmission and provide end users with equal access to the shared media. We propose to use the multipoint control protocol defined by the IEEE 802.3ah task force to arbitrate the transmission of different users, and we present different dynamic bandwidth allocation (DBA) algorithms to allocate bandwidths effectively and fairly between end users. These DBA algorithms are also augmented to support differentiated services, a crucial requirement for a converged broadband access network with heterogeneous traffic. We show that queueing delays under strict bandwidth allocation algorithms result in an unexpected behavior for certain traffic classes, and we suggest the use of DBA with appropriate local queue management to alleviate this inappropriate behavior. We conduct detailed simulation experiments to study the performance and validate the effectiveness of the proposed protocols.  相似文献
