Isotactic polypropylene (iPP) and syndiotactic polypropylene (sPP) nanocomposites containing 0.1–3.5 wt.% multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) have been synthesized via in situ polymerization method with the use of C2- and Cs- symmetry zirconocenes activated by methylaluminoxane (MAO) in liquid propylene medium. Fracture morphology studies by SEM reveal different MWCNT dispersion efficiency in various polymer matrices, which arises from the catalytic peculiarities of the composite synthesis. Considerable Young’s modulus enhancement of iPP and sPP (25–66%) takes place even at low MWCNT loadings (below 0.5 wt.%). The obtained nanocomposites can find use as efficient electromagnetic shielding materials and microwave absorbing filters due to relatively low permittivity values and considerable dielectric losses in microwave range. Calorimetry data demonstrate that MWCNTs exert evident influence as nucleating agents causing the rise of iPP and sPP crystallization temperature. Considerable retardation effect on iPP thermal oxidative degradation has been observed: the temperature of maximal weight loss rate rises by ~52 °C upon incorporating only 1.4 wt.% MWCNTs.  相似文献

A series of low‐molecular‐weight poly(butylene succinate‐co‐glutarate‐co−2‐trimethylammonium chloride glutarate) terpolyester ionomers containing 35% mol of total glutarate units but varying in the content of charged units were synthesized by polycondensation at mild temperatures using a scandium catalyst. The terpolyester ionomers started to decompose at the temperatures of >175°C and all of them were semicrystalline and have glass transition temperature similar to poly(butylene succinate) (PBS). These terpolyesters were used to compatibilize the nanocomposites made of PBS‐cloisite (CL) prepared by melt extrusion. X‐ray diffraction revealed that an intercalated structure was present in these nanocomposites. The thermal properties of the three‐component mixtures did not differ substantially from those of PBS–CL but the mechanical properties were significantly improved by the addition of the ionomer, in particular tenacity. The beneficial effect afforded by the terpolyester ionomer was attributed to its ability for strengthening the binding between the PBS and the nanoclay. POLYM. Avian influenza viruses (AIV) of wild ducks are known to be able to sporadically infect domestic birds and spread along poultry. Regular surveillance of AIV in the wild is needed to prepare for potential outbreaks. During long-year monitoring, 46 strains of AIV were isolated from gulls and mallards in Moscow ponds and completely sequenced. Amino acid positions that affect the pathogenicity of influenza viruses in different hosts were tested. The binding affinity of the virus for receptors analogs typical for different hosts and the pathogenicity of viruses for mice and chickens were investigated. Moscow isolates did not contain well-known markers of pathogenicity and/or adaptation to mammals, so as a polybasic cleavage site in HA, substitutions of 226Q and 228G amino acids in the receptor-binding region of HA, and substitutions of 627E and 701D amino acids in the PB2. The PDZ-domain ligand in the NS protein of all studied viruses contains the ESEV or ESEI sequence. Although several viruses had the N66S substitution in the PB1-F2 protein, all Moscow isolates were apathogenic for both mice and chickens. This demonstrates that the phenotypic manifestation of pathogenicity factors is not absolute but depends on the genome context.  相似文献

There is growing evidence that the remodeling of cerebral microvessels plays an important role in plastic changes in the brain associated with development, experience, learning, and memory consolidation. At the same time, abnormal neoangiogenesis, and deregulated regulation of microvascular regression, or pruning, could contribute to the pathogenesis of neurodevelopmental diseases, stroke, and neurodegeneration. Aberrant remodeling of microvesselsis associated with blood–brain barrier breakdown, development of neuroinflammation, inadequate microcirculation in active brain regions, and leads to the dysfunction of the neurovascular unit and progressive neurological deficits. In this review, we summarize current data on the mechanisms of blood vessel regression and pruning in brain plasticity and in Alzheimer’s-type neurodegeneration. We discuss some novel approaches to modulating cerebral remodeling and preventing degeneration-coupled aberrant microvascular activity in chronic neurodegeneration.  相似文献

Conclusion Type 04Kh11Yu chromium-aluminum steels are promising high-damping materials. They contain readily available alloy elements and are more corrosion- and scale-resistant than such high-damping alloys as magnesium and manganese-copper alloys and cast irons. In addition, they are more easily melted and hot worked by pressure than magnesium and manganese-copper alloys. Heat treatment of chromium-aluminum steels for high damping is simple.Broader use in industry of increased damping capacity type 120S2YuD graphitic steels is desirable. They are hardened significantly by heat treatment, are relatively inexpensive, and have recommended themselves positively during experimental production tests on reduction of the noise of mechanisms with gear drives. The use of them in place of 40Kh and 30KhGSA steels causes a reduction in noise of mechanisms with gear drives of 6 db. Homopolymerization of disubstituted styrenes (2,4‐ and 2,5‐dimethylstyrene) and trisubstituted styrene (2,4,6‐trimethylstyrene) and their copolymerization with styrene were carried out using diphenylzinc–metallocene–methylaluminoxane initiator systems for metallocene (n‐BuCp)2TiCl2 and for half‐metallocene CpTiCl3. The studied comonomers were found to be less reactive than p‐tertbutylstyrene, p‐methylstyrene and styrene. The results indicate that, even though the methyl group has I+ inductive effect, di‐ and tri‐methylstyrenes are reluctant to undergo either homopolymerization or copolymerization. This behavior suggests that the reactivity is regulated not only by the inductive effect of the alkyl group but also by the steric impediment caused by the crowding of the substituents on the benzene ring.
