This approach proposes the creation and management of adaptive learning systems by combining component technology, semantic metadata, and adaptation rules. A component model allows interaction among components that share consistent assumptions about what each provides and each requires of the other. It allows indexing, using, reusing, and coupling of components in different contexts powering adaptation. Our claim is that semantic metadata are required to allow a real reusing and assembling of educational component. Finally, a rule language is used to define strategies to rewrite user query and user model. The former allows searching components developing concepts not appearing in the user query but related with user goals, whereas the last allow inferring user knowledge that is not explicit in user model.John Freddy Duitama received his M.Sc. degree in system engineering from the University of Antioquia -Colombia (South America). In 1997, she joined the Computer Sciences Department at GET-INT (Institut National des Télécommunications) of Evry, France, as an associate professor. Surface functionalization and modification including the grafting process are effective approaches to improve and enhance the reverse osmosis (RO) membrane performance. This work is aimed to synthesize grafted/crosslinked cellulose acetate (CA)/cellulose triacetate (CTA) blend RO membranes using N-isopropylacrylamide (N-IPAAm) as a monomer and N,N-methylene bisacrylamide (MBAAm) as a crosslinker. The morphology of these membranes was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and their surface roughness was characterized by atomic force microscopy. The performance of these membranes was evaluated through measuring two major parameters of salt rejection and water flux using RO unit at variable operating pressures. It was noted that the surface average roughness obviously decreased from 148 nm for the pure CA/CTA blend membrane with 2.5% CTA to 110 nm and 87 nm for the grafted N-IPAAm and grafted/crosslinked N-IPAAM/MBAAm/CA/CTA-RO membranes, respectively. Moreover, the contact angle decreased from 51.98° to 47.6° and 43.8° after the grafting and crosslinking process. The salt rejection of the grafted CA/CTA-RO membrane by 0.1% N-IPAAm produced the highest value of 98.12% and the water flux was 3.29 L/m2h at 10 bar.  相似文献

The compatibility of a memristor with CMOS technology has attracted the attention of many researchers to explore its application further. In this work, an ultra low-power and low-complexity ultra wideband (UWB) chirp transmitter based on memristive ring oscillator (RO) is designed in 0.18 µm TSMC CMOS technology. The Chirp waveform was chosen because of its low side-lobes and large time-bandwidth product, which allows for more spectrum use. OOK and FSK modulation are supported by the proposed UWB chirp transmitter. The chirp frequency is controlled linearly with time across the pulse duration using memristors. The binary data "1" and "0" are encoded using distinct chirp frequencies in FSK TX. The simulation results show a maximum TX output pulse of 457 mV Vpp with a pulse width of 21 ns. The overall DC power consumption for a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 20 MHz is 0.328 mW, equivalent to an energy consumption of 16.4 pJ/pulse. The simulated output amplitude for OOK TX is 453 mV Vpp with a pulse width of 48 ns and a PSD of ? 10 dB over a frequency range of 3.2 to 4.8 GHz. The overall power consumption at 10 MHz PRF is 0.136 mW, which corresponds to an energy consumption of 13.6 pJ/pulse.

The search of compounds emitting in the near-infrared (NIR) has been accelerated owing to their use in biomedical and telecommunications applications. In this regard, nanographenes (NGs) are attractive materials adequate for integration with other technologies, which have recently demonstrated amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) and lasing across the visible spectrum. Here, the optical and ASE properties of four-zigzag edged NGs of the [m,n]peri-acenoacene family are reported, whose size is increased through conjugation extension by varying n (from 3 to 5) while keeping m = 2. Results show that such 1D conjugation extension method is more efficient in terms of shifting the photoluminescence (PL) to the infrared (PL at 710 nm in the larger compound, PP-Ar) than through 2D conjugation extension as in previously reported NGs (PL at 676 nm with the largest compound FZ3, with n = 3 and m = 4). Additionally, PP-Ar shows dual-ASE (at 726 and 787 nm), whose origin is elucidated through Raman and transient absorption spectroscopies. These compounds’ potential for red and NIR lasing is demonstrated through the fabrication of distributed feedback lasers with top-layer resonators. This study paves the way towards the development of stable low-cost all-plastic NIR lasers.  相似文献

In this study, we developed an original approach for preparing cellulose-coated magnetite nanoparticles (NPs). Two novel Schiff bases (PDA-g-DAC) and [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)] were synthesized via condensation reactions of periodate oxidized micro-crystalline cellulose (DAC) with o-phenylene diamine (PDA) to obtain its azomethine derivative with 85% yield. Subsequently, the functionalization of (PDA-g-DAC) with benzil (Bz) yields the tetraaza macrocycle [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)]. The physicochemical characterization of the condensation products was performed using 13CNMR, FTIR, ATG, DSC, and X-ray diffraction techniques. Magnetic nanomaterial-based Schiff base cellulose was successfully prepared using in situ chemical co-precipitation of coordinated ferric and ferrous ions in cellulose Schiff base matrix under optimized conditions, and then, its magnetic properties were characterized. The results demonstrated that the Fe3O4 NPs coated with [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)] were homogeneously coated in the matrix under ultrasonic irradiation with the saturation magnetization of 69.50 emu g?1. In addition, XRD line broadening analysis showed that the average particle size of the NPs was 37.3 nm. Furthermore, FTIR spectra demonstrated that [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)] concavity was anchored to magnetite Fe3O4 NPs through azomethine groups. Vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) of [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)@Fe3O4] magnetic nanocomposite samples showed the typical behavior of ferromagnetism. This study provided a green and facile method to inhibit magnetic nanoparticle aggregation. Activity results revealed that the prepared [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)@Fe3O4] catalyst shows the maximum activity for degradation of Acid Yellow 17 (AY17) compared to other prepared catalysts. After degradation reaction, the [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)@Fe3O4] catalyst was recovered from the reaction mixture via an external magnet and used for further five consecutive cycles with excellent catalytic activity, successively, which was comparable to the fresh catalyst. The catalyst degradation efficiency and its easy separation exhibited that [Bz-(PDA-g-DAC)@Fe3O4] catalyst is a promising material for the removal of AY17 from aqueous solutions in green chemistry perspectives.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a novel approach for face depth estimation in a passive stereo vision system. Our approach is based on rapid generation of facial disparity maps, requiring neither expensive devices nor generic face models. It consists in incorporating face properties into the disparity estimation process to enhance the 3D face reconstruction. We propose a model-based method that is independent from the specific stereo algorithm used. Our method is a two-step process. First, an algorithm based on the Active Shape Model (ASM) is proposed to acquire a disparity model specific to the face concerned. Second, using this model as a guidance, the dense disparity is calculated and the depth map is estimated. Besides, an original post-processing algorithm is proposed in order to detect holes and spikes in the generated depth maps caused by wrong matches and uncertainties. It is based on the smoothness property of the face and a local and global analysis of the image. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the reconstruction accuracy and the speed of the proposed method.  相似文献

Efforts are made to eliminate the self-heating and self-ignition of medium-temperature coke produced from Kansk-Achinsk brown coal (lignite) in a fluidized bed via “Termokoks-KS” technology. The optimal conditions of accelerated coke deactivation are found. The deactivation process is based on the low-temperature oxidation of coke by the surrounding air. Deactivation may be greatly accelerated at temperatures close to the critical temperature at which ignition occurs for samples of the given material.  相似文献

An investigation of the selective ring-opening of methylcyclopentane (MCP) was conducted for the first time on Pt/TiO2, Ir/TiO2 and Pt?CIr/TiO2 catalysts with low amounts of noble metals (0.5?wt%) over a temperature range of 180?C400?°C under hydrogen at atmospheric pressure. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation or co-impregnation and characterized by different physico-chemical techniques, including SEM, XRD, H2-TPR, N2-sorption, TEM and elemental analysis. The metallic particles were highly dispersed on the TiO2 support at isodispersion of ~1?nm. The particles exhibited icosahedral Mackay structures limited by (111) planes. The catalytic results show that the activity in the MCP was strongly influenced by the intrinsic nature of the metal and by the temperature. The most active catalyst was Ir/TiO2. The order of the reactivity as a function of the temperature and total conversion was Ir/TiO2 180?°C (???=?2?%)?>?Pt?CIr/TiO2 220?°C (???=?27.8?%)?>?Pt/TiO2 260?°C (???=?9.9?%). Under these conditions, all of the catalysts exhibited the ability to open the ring of MCP with an atom economy, without unwanted products of cracking and ring-enlargement reactions. The synergy between Pt?CIr bimetallic particles was assessed by the total conversion of MCP, whereas the ring-opening results indicated that the reaction took place on Ir sites. These results suggest that the bimetallic catalyst contained separate entities of two metals. Increased reaction temperatures led to reduced reaction selectivity with respect to ring-opening of MCP versus the cracking side reaction.  相似文献

Influence of Optimized Tire Shreds on Shear Strength Parameters of Sand   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper presents the usefulness of optimizing the size of waste tire shreds on shear strength parameters of sand reinforced with shredded waste tires. A relatively, uniform sand has been mixed with randomly distributed waste tire shreds with rectangular shape and compacted at 2° of compaction. Waste tire shreds were prepared with a special cutter in three widths of 2, 3, and 4?cm and various lengths for each shred width. Three shred contents of 15, 30, and 50% by volume were chosen and mixed with the sand to obtain a uniformly distributed mixture. In order to compare the shear strength of different sand–tire shred samples, two compaction efforts in terms of sand matrix unit weights of 15.5 and 16.8?kN/m3 were considered. The results show that the influencing parameters on shear strength characteristics of sand–shred mixtures are normal stress, sand matrix unit weight, shred content, shred width, and aspect ratio of tire shreds. With the selected widths of shreds, compaction efforts, shred contents, and the variations of aspect ratios, it is possible to increase the initial friction angle ?1 up to 113.5%, that is ?1 = 67°. The average value for the influence of aspect ratio variations on increase in friction angle of the mixtures for all tests has been found to be about 25%. These average values for lower and higher compacted samples containing different widths and aspect rations were 37.6 and 17.2%, respectively. It has been investigated that for a given width of tire rectangular shreds, there is solely a certain length, which gives the greatest initial friction angle for sand–tire shred mixtures.
