For the Ti-rich, Ti-AI system, the- and-2 phase boundaries have been obtained through differential thermal analysis for alloy compositions ranging from 10.2 to 25.2 at% Al (6 to 16 wt% Al). It has been shown that in the above mentioned composition range, a metastable disordered-phase can be quenched in. This metastable then transforms to the ordered

The stress-strain curves for pineapple leaf fibre have been analysed. Ultimate tensile strength (UTS), initial modulus (YM), average modulus (AM) and elongation of fibres have been calculated as functions of fibre diameter test length and test speed. UTS, YM, and elongation lie in the range of 362 to 748 MN m–2, 25 to 36 GN m–2, and 2.0 to 2.8%, respectively for fibres of diameters ranging from 45 to 205m. UTS Was found to decrease with increasing test lengths in the range 15 to 65 mm. Various mechanical parameters show marginal changes with change in speed of testing in the range of 1 to 50 mm min–1. The above results are explained on the basis of structural variables of the fibre. Scanning electron microscope studies of the fibres reveal that the failure of the fibres is mainly due to large defect content of the fibre bo1h along the fibre and through the cross-section, The crack is always initiated by the defective cells and further aggravated by the weak bonding material between the cells. 相似文献
The quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) is considered to be one of the ground-breaking nanotechnologies developed over the last two decades. A layered T (LT) logic cell library is constructed herein, and the methodology is extended to generic adder and subtractor module designs. The two proposed algorithms lead to more efficient QCA layout designs for an n-bit ripple carry adder (RCA) and subtractor based on an effective clock zone assignment approach. The suggested one-, four-, and eight-bit RCAs and subtractors surpass most of their existing counterparts by offering lower effective area and cell complexity. A comparative analysis is presented regarding the complexity, irreversible power dissipation, and Costα of the proposed n-bit layouts from a cost estimation purview.
Fatigue growth data has been obtained for part-through thickness cracks in sheet specimens of polymethylmethacrylate subjected to cyclic tension. Statistical techniques are used to examine the usefulness of linear elastic fracture mechanics for correlating this part-through thickness crack growth data with throughthickness data published previously. 相似文献
Epoxy resin is chosen for our present study owing to its exceptional combination of properties such as easy processing, high safety, excellent solvent and chemical resistance, toughness, low shrinkage on cure, good electrical, mechanical and corrosion resistance with excellent adhesion to many substrates. This versatility in formulation made epoxy resins widely applied for surface coatings, adhesives, laminates, composites, potting, painting materials, encapsulant for semiconductor and insulating material for electric devices. There are numerous paint/coating systems based on epoxy resin available for corrosion and fouling prevention. They however are not completely satisfactory in field applications, where high corrosion, fouling and flame resistance are required. The demand for epoxy resin as corrosion/fouling resistant coatings is restricted mainly due to its inferior characteristics like poor impact strength, high rigidity, and moisture absorbing nature besides inadequate flame retardant properties. It is for this reason that silicones and phosphorus-based compounds are used as modifier in this work by intercrosslinking network mechanism (ICN) to obtain epoxy resin with desired properties ideally suitable for field applications for preventing corrosion and fouling with flame retardantancy. The present work involves the development of solvent free silicone/phosphorus modified epoxy coating systems, since solvent free coating systems are widely used for numerous applications due to their lower cost per unit film thickness, freedom from fire and pollution hazard and ability to provide better performance. For the development of coating systems, epoxy resin (X) serves as base material, hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane (HTPDMS) as modifier, γ-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (γ-APS) as crosslinking agent and dibutyltindilaurate (DBTDL) as catalyst. Polyamidoamine (A), aromatic amine adducts (B) and phosphorus-containing diamine (C) were used as curing agents. The study also describes the evaluation of corrosion resistant behaviour of unmodified epoxy and siliconized epoxy coatings by potentiodynamic polarization method, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), salt-spray and antifouling tests. Glycidyl methacrylate and N-vinyl pyrrolidone have been grafted onto natural rubber at 32°C using the simultaneous cobalt-60 irradiation technique. The natural rubber samples were swollen in the monomers for 24 h and thereafter subjected to gamma irradiation. The homopolymers formed in the graft copolymerization reactions and unreacted monomer were removed by solvent extraction using acetone and methanol for glycidyl methacrylate and N-vinyl pyrrolidone monomer, respectively. The influence of total dose and monomer concentration on the graft parameters was investigated. The dependence of the rate of grafting on the monomer concentration was found to be 0.93 and 0.80 for glycidyl methacrylate and N-vinyl pyrrolidone, respectively. DSC and TGA studies of the polymers were undertaken. Grafted copolymers based on glycidyl methacrylate were relatively less thermally stable compared with ungrafted natural rubber. 相似文献
An attempt is made to develop a novel series of cable sheathing compounds with variation in chlorine content and sufficient fire retardance and unique low-smoke characteristics. These are prepared by blending PVC and functionalized polyolefins in different compositions. PE and EPDM have been functionalized by grafting dibutyl maleate (DBM) using DCP as initiator. FRLS compounds made from PVC-functionalized polyolefin blends possess the special characteristics of low-smoke, low-acid-gas generation, increased fire retardance, and improved volume resistivity, which are much better in comparison with a typical PVC sheathing compound. Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) based nonhalogen FRLS compounds are also reported. The mechanisms for grafting, polymer-polymer and polymer-filler interactions have been presented. 相似文献
Anisotropy of X-ray structural parameters of the three phase model proposed by Mitra and Mukherjee (ref.2), has been investigated in the case of cellulose fibres of ramie, hemp and jute. The structural parameters have been determined separately from each of the observable equatorial reflections. It has been found that the parameter degree of crystallinity as defined in the model is in fact anisotropic at least in the samples studied. The parameter degree of paracrystallinity introduced by Mitra and Mukherjee was also found to be anisotropic. Several important correlations between the structural parameters have been drawn. It has been observed, in agreement with the recent findings of Hosemann and Balta Calleja (ref.10) that the greater the paracrystalline distortion, the smaller the ‘paracrystallite size’. 相似文献
