The aim of this work is to define the pattern of summation of the muscle fibre twitches in the surface mechanomyogram (MMG) generation process. For this purpose, two groups of muscle fibres of the extensor digitorum communis (EDC) were stimulated using needle electrodes. To these two artificial (because made by different muscle fibre types) motor units (MU1 and MU2), we administered: (a) separate stimulations: 3 and 9 Hz (MU1), 8 and 20 Hz (MU2) for 5 s; (b) simultaneous stimulation: 3 Hz (MU1) + 8 Hz (MU2); 9 Hz (MU1) + 20 Hz (MU2) for 5 s. The mechanomyograms, recorded during separate stimulation of MU1 and MU2, were linearly summated for the generation of a mechanomyographic signal to be compared with the one detected during (b) stimulation procedure. The bispectrum and the bicoherence of the generated MMG (MMGg) and of the MMG recorded during simultaneous (MMGs) stimulation were calculated for the detection of the quadratic non-linearity in the system responses. It was found that the MMGg and MMGs presented difference in the bispectrum and bicoherence index only when the 9-20 Hz stimulation pair was considered In conclusion, our data indicate that the MMG derives from the summation of the active muscle fibres twitches and that the latter is linear only for very low firing rates. This is to be carefully considered when studies on MMG modelling will be undertaken.  相似文献

The results of a study on texture evolution during 35 days of storage of amaretti, a typical Italian cookie, packaged in two different ways are reported. Amaretti cookies were wrapped in polyvinylchloride (PVC) film or aluminium foil (ALL), to simulate two different permeability conditions and stored at controlled temperature and humidity. Evolution of texture (such as hardness) and aw were tested instrumentally by a texture analyser and a hygrometer, respectively. Texture was assessed by a cut and puncturing test. Indices for hardening were the area under the curve (N mm) and gradient (N/mm) for the puncturing test and maximum force (N) for the cut test. Both textural tests showed significantly higher hardening of PVC cookies, compared to the ALL cookies. The latter retained good sensorial properties at the end of the storage period, although their internal structure changed from soft and moist to mealy, while the PVC cookies were no longer edible only 10 days after baking. aw values decreased and increased in PVC and ALL lots, respectively. The results suggest that hardening may be explained by water loss in PVC and moisture redistribution in ALL.  相似文献

Feed production systems should consider more sustainable solutions to reduce the pressure on earth's finite resources. In this work, we investigated the effect of microencapsulated condensed tannins (MCTs)-enhanced diet on the cow milk characteristics. The diet reduced the urea content, while preserved and the n-3 and n-6 portion of fatty acids. Aside from the rising of vitamin C level, MCTs had a negative effect on the amount of B group vitamins. MCTs may be considered a promising feed supplement that offers a good trade-off in terms of milk chemical quality while increasing the environmental sustainability of cattle livestock.  相似文献

An investigation of the function of an indolene‐based organic dye, termed D149, incorporated in to solid‐state dye‐sensitized solar cells using 2,2′,7,7′‐tetrakis(N,N‐di‐p‐methoxypheny‐amine)‐9,9′‐spirobifluorene (spiro‐OMeTAD) as the hole transport material is reported. Solar cell performance characteristics are unprecedented under low light levels, with the solar cells delivering up to 70% incident photon‐to‐current efficiency (IPCE) and over 6% power conversion efficiency, as measured under simulated air mass (AM) 1.5 sun light at 1 and 10 mW cm?2. However, a considerable nonlinearity in the photocurrent as intensities approach “full sun” conditions is observed and the devices deliver up to 4.2% power conversion efficiency under simulated sun light of 100 mW cm?2. The influence of dye‐loading upon solar cell operation is investigated and the thin films are probed via photoinduced absorption (PIA) spectroscopy, time‐correlated single‐photon counting (TCSPC), and photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQE) measurements in order to deduce the cause for the non ideal solar cell performance. The data suggest that electron transfer from the photoexcited sensitizer into the TiO2 is only between 10 to 50% efficient and that ionization of the photo excited dye via hole transfer directly to spiro‐OMeTAD dominates the charge generation process. A persistent dye bleaching signal is also observed, and assigned to a remarkably high density of electrons “trapped” within the dye phase, equivalent to 1.8 × 1017 cm?3 under full sun illumination. it is believed that this localized space charge build‐up upon the sensitizer is responsible for the non‐linearity of photocurrent with intensity and nonoptimum solar cell performance under full sun conditions.  相似文献

Previously we demonstrated that Rhodococcus sp. strain DN22 can degrade RDX (hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine) aerobically via initial denitration. The present study describes the role of oxygen and water in the key denitration step leading to RDX decomposition using (18)O(2) and H(2)(18)O labeling experiments. We also investigated degradation of MNX (hexahydro-1-nitroso-3,5-dinitro-1,3,5-triazine) with DN22 under similar conditions. DN22 degraded RDX and MNX giving NO(2)(-), NO(3)(-), NDAB (4-nitro-diazabutanal), NH(3), N(2)O, and HCHO with NO(2)(-)/NO(3)(-) molar ratio reaching 17 and ca. 2, respectively. In the presence of (18)O(2), DN22 degraded RDX and produced NO(2)(-) with m/z at 46 Da that subsequently oxidized to NO(3)(-) containing one (18)O atom, but in the presence of H(2)(18)O we detected NO(3)(-) without (18)O. A control containing NO(2)(-), DN22, and (18)O(2) gave NO(3)(-) with one (18)O, confirming biotic oxidation of NO(2)(-) to NO(3)(-). Treatment of MNX with DN22 and (18)O(2) produced NO(3)(-) with two mass ions, one (66 Da) incorporating two (18)O atoms and another (64 Da) incorporating only one (18)O atom and we attributed their formation to bio-oxidation of the initially formed NO and NO(2)(-), respectively. In the presence of H(2)(18)O we detected NO(2)(-) with two different masses, one representing NO(2)(-) (46 Da) and another representing NO(2)(-) (48 Da) with the inclusion of one (18)O atom suggesting auto-oxidation of NO to NO(2)(-). Results indicated that denitration of either RDX or MNX and denitrosation of MNX by DN22 did not involve direct participation of either oxygen or water, but both played major roles in subsequent secondary chemical and biochemical reactions of NO and NO(2)(-).  相似文献

The best packaging conditions for rocket salad were assessed by subsequent experimental trials. In the first step, a preliminary screening of different packaging materials was performed and two micro‐perforated oriented polypropylene films with different micro‐hole diameters (90 and 110 μm) were selected as best packaging solutions. In the subsequent experimental step, modified headspace conditions were applied without any improvement on product quality. In the last step, the effects of an ethylene adsorbent were analysed. Rocket salad packaged in both films with the ethylene adsorbent recorded a shelf life of about 16 days, compared to the control samples that remained acceptable for 13 days. During storage, the microbial quality (mesophilic and psychrotrophic bacteria, pseudomonadaceae, lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, total coliforms and enterobacteriacae), the pH, the colour changes and the main sensory parameters were also monitored.  相似文献

Emotion detection from the text is a challenging problem in the text analytics. The opinion mining experts are focusing on the development of emotion detection applications as they have received considerable attention of online community including users and business organization for collecting and interpreting public emotions. However, most of the existing works on emotion detection used less efficient machine learning classifiers with limited datasets, resulting in performance degradation. To overcome this issue, this work aims at the evaluation of the performance of different machine learning classifiers on a benchmark emotion dataset. The experimental results show the performance of different machine learning classifiers in terms of different evaluation metrics like precision, recall ad f-measure. Finally, a classifier with the best performance is recommended for the emotion classification.  相似文献

A conformational energy analysis of the isolated chain of syndiotactic poly(m-methylstyrene) under the constraint of a crystalline field is reported. Two different minimum energy conformations having similar energy have been found; the trans-planar conformation with tcm symmetry and the two-fold helical conformation with s(2/1)2 symmetry, according with the observed polymorphic behavior of this polymer. The calculated chain axes are in agreement with the experimental axes of 5.1 and 7.9 Å found for the different polymorphic forms of syndiotactic poly(m-methylstyrene). However, only a metastable disordered modification (form III) having chains in trans-planar conformation has been described. This indicates that, even though the trans-planar conformation is, in the isolated chain as stable as the helical conformation, the packing of the chains in helical conformation is probably more efficient than that of the trans-planar chains.  相似文献

Thanks to their reduced size, great surface area, and capacity to interact with cells and tissues, nanomaterials present some attractive biological and chemical characteristics with potential uses in the field of biomedical applications. In this context, graphene and its chemical derivatives have been extensively used in many biomedical research areas from drug delivery to bioelectronics and tissue engineering. Graphene-based nanomaterials show excellent optical, mechanical, and biological properties. They can be used as a substrate in the field of tissue engineering due to their conductivity, allowing to study, and educate neural connections, and guide neural growth and differentiation; thus, graphene-based nanomaterials represent an emerging aspect in regenerative medicine. Moreover, there is now an urgent need to develop multifunctional and functionalized nanomaterials able to arrive at neuronal cells through the blood-brain barrier, to manage a specific drug delivery system. In this review, we will focus on the recent applications of graphene-based nanomaterials in vitro and in vivo, also combining graphene with other smart materials to achieve the best benefits in the fields of nervous tissue engineering and neural regenerative medicine. We will then highlight the potential use of these graphene-based materials to construct graphene 3D scaffolds able to stimulate neural growth and regeneration in vivo for clinical applications.  相似文献
