A lamellar hydrocalumite-type [Ca2Al(OH)6]NO3·mH2O, (HC), was synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), surface area, pore size measurements, CO2-Thermal Programmed Desorption, and later tested as catalysts in the double bond isomerization of 1-butene. The layered structure of HC collapses above 523 K yielding an amorphous material at 573 K which upon calcination at 873–973 K transforms into a mixture of CaO and mayenite Ca12Al14O33. The calcination temperature has a marked effect in the formation of basic sites. Thus for example, HC calcined at 1073 K shows 90% of strong basic sites (CO2 desorption at 1023 K) while they are absent in HC calcined at 573–673 K. HC calcined at 973 K shows high catalytic activity (74% conversion) in the isomerization of 1-butene without any appreciable deactivation after 4 h on stream.  相似文献

In the present investigation, the sliding wear behavior is described for Al2O3/ZrO2 micro/nanocomposites and monolithic alumina of similar grain size under defined conditions of a constant sliding speed and different loads (20–150 N). Nano ZrO2 particles (1.7 vol%) were observed uniformly distributing throughout the composites, and most of them were located within the matrix alumina grains. The wear rate of the alumina and the micro/nanocomposites increased as the contact load increased and a clear transition in friction and wear behavior was observed in both materials. However, the nanocomposite wear resistance at low contact loads was one order of magnitude higher than that of the alumina. In the severe regime, no difference was observed among the materials. The low wear rate (10−7 mm3·(N·m)−1) along with low pullout indicates higher wear resistance of micro/nanocomposites in the mild regime compared with monolithic alumina. Based on the morphological observation of worn surfaces by scanning electron microscope and on residual stress analysis performed by neutron diffraction, some wear mechanisms of Al2O3–ZrO2 micro/nanocomposites are proposed. The high wear resistance of the nanocomposites is discussed in terms of fracture resistance properties and residual stress. Improvements in mechanical and tribological properties of these composites make them promising candidates for biomedical applications.  相似文献

Listeria monocytogenes detection in wastewater can be difficult because of the large amount of background microbiota and the presence of viable but non-culturable forms in this environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate a Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (FISH) assay combined with Direct Viable Count (DVC) method for detecting viable L. monocytogenes in wastewater samples, as an alternative to conventional culture methods. 16S rRNA sequence data were used to design a specific oligonucleotide probe. In order to assess the suitability of the method, the assays were performed on naturally (n = 87) and artificially (n = 14) contaminated samples and results were compared to those obtained with the isolation of cells on selective media and with a PCR method. The detection limit of FISH and PCR assays was 104 cells/mL without enrichment and 10 cells/mL after enrichment. A total of 47 samples, including 3 samples from effluent sites, yielded FISH positive results for L. monocytogenes. Using DVC-FISH technique, the presence of viable L. monocytogenes cells was detected in 23 out of these 47 FISH positive wastewater samples. PCR and culture methods yielded 27 and 23 positive results, respectively. According to these results, FISH technique has the potential to be used as a sensitive method for the detection and enumeration of L. monocytogenes in environmental wastewater samples.  相似文献

Au-Sn solid–liquid interdiffusion (SLID) bonding is an established reliable high temperature (HT) die attach and interconnect technology. This article presents the life cycle of an optimized HT Au-Sn SLID bond, from fabrication, via thermal treatment, to mechanical rupture. The layered structure of a strong and uniform virgin bond was identified by X-ray diffraction to be Au/ζ (Au0.85Sn0.15)/Au. During HT exposure, it was transformed to Au/β (Au1.8Sn0.2)/Au. After HT exposure, the die shear strength was reduced by 50 pct, from 14 Pa to 70 MPa, which is still remarkably high. Fractographic studies revealed a change in fracture mode; it was changed from a combination of adhesive Au/Ni and cohesive SiC fracture to a cohesive β-phase fracture. Design rules for high quality Au-Sn SLID bonds are given.  相似文献

Development research has been carried out in order to solve a practical industrial problem: to counteract axial displacement (axial drift or axial creep) of workpieces during the welding process. Solutions found in the literature generally provide adequate results; however, they are mechanically complex with high purchase and maintenance costs. A mechanically simple and inexpensive solution is proposed in this paper. Axial drift is measured with a low-cost custom-built contact displacement sensor. This sensor can measure axial drift without calibration or set-up operations. It is highly robust in order to function correctly in industrial conditions. A pneumatic cylinder moves the idle turning roll along a rail, modifying the longitudinal position of the idle turning roll in order to counteract axial drift. The position of the idle turning roll is controlled by a control algorithm, which consists of a set of rules. Tests were carried out in order to validate the proposed solution, which can be applied to existing turning rolls thereby significantly reducing costs.  相似文献

Thin films of the semiconductor NiO are deposited using a straightforward combination of simple and versatile techniques: the co-precipitation in aqueous media along with the dip- coating process. The obtained material is characterized by gravimetric/differential thermal analysis (TG–DTA) and X-ray diffraction technique. TG curve shows 30 % of total mass loss, whereas DTA indicates the formation of the NiO phase about 578 K (305 °C). X-ray diffraction (XRD) data confirms the FCC crystalline phase of NiO, whose crystallinity increases with thermal annealing temperature. UV–Vis optical absorption measurements are carried out for films deposited on quartz substrate in order to avoid the masking of bandgap evaluation by substrate spectra overlapping. The evaluated bandgap is about 3.0 eV. Current–voltage (I–V) curves measured for different temperatures as well as the temperature-dependent resistivity data show typical semiconductor behavior with the resistivity increasing with the decreasing of temperature. The Arrhenius plot reveals a level 233 meV above the conduction band top, which was attributed to Ni2+ vacancy level, responsible for the p-type electrical nature of NiO, even in undoped samples. Light irradiation on the films leads to a remarkable behavior, because above bandgap light induced a resistivity increase, despite the electron–hole generation. This performance was associated with excitation of the Ni2+ vacancy level, due to the proximity between energy levels.  相似文献

The human alpha‐Synuclein (αS) protein is of significant interest because of its association with Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. The intrinsically disordered protein (140 amino acids) is characterized by the absence of a well‐defined structure in solution. It displays remarkable conformational flexibility upon macromolecular interactions, and can associate with mitochondrial membranes. Site‐directed spin‐labeling in combination with electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy enabled us to study the local binding properties of αS on artificial membranes (mimicking the inner and outer mitochondrial membranes), and to evaluate the importance of cardiolipin in this interaction. With pulsed, twofrequency, double‐electron electron paramagnetic resonance (DEER) approaches, we examined, to the best of our knowledge for the first time, the conformation of αS bound to isolated mitochondria.  相似文献

This study is related to the application of the X‐ray dual‐energy microradiography technique together with the atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) for the detection of lead on Zea mays stem, ear, root, and leaf samples. To highlight the places with lead intake, the planar radiographs taken with monochromatic X‐ray radiation in absorption regime with photon energy below and above the absorption edge of a given chemical element, respectively, are analyzed and processed. To recognize the biological structures involved in the intake, the dual‐energy images with the lead signal have been compared with the optical images of the same Z. mays stem. The ear, stem, root, and leaf samples have also been analyzed with the AAS technique to measure the exact amount of the hyperaccumulated lead. The AAS measurement revealed that the highest intake occurred in the roots while the lowest in the maize ears and in the leaf.
