Atomic layer deposition of transition metals   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Atomic layer deposition (ALD) is a process for depositing highly uniform and conformal thin films by alternating exposures of a surface to vapours of two chemical reactants. ALD processes have been successfully demonstrated for many metal compounds, but for only very few pure metals. Here we demonstrate processes for the ALD of transition metals including copper, cobalt, iron and nickel. Homoleptic N,N'-dialkylacetamidinato metal compounds and molecular hydrogen gas were used as the reactants. Their surface reactions were found to be complementary and self-limiting, thus providing highly uniform thicknesses and conformal coating of long, narrow holes. We propose that these ALD layers grow by a hydrogenation mechanism that should also operate during the ALD of many other metals. The use of water vapour in place of hydrogen gas gives highly uniform, conformal films of metal oxides, including lanthanum oxide. These processes should permit the improved production of many devices for which the ALD process has previously not been applicable.  相似文献

We introduce a new approach for finding overlapping clusters given pairwise similarities of objects. In particular, we relax the problem of correlation clustering by allowing an object to be assigned to more than one cluster. At the core of our approach is an optimization problem in which each data point is mapped to a small set of labels, representing membership in different clusters. The objective is to find a mapping so that the given similarities between objects agree as much as possible with similarities taken over their label sets. The number of labels can vary across objects. To define a similarity between label sets, we consider two measures: (i) a 0–1 function indicating whether the two label sets have non-zero intersection and (ii) the Jaccard coefficient between the two label sets. The algorithm we propose is an iterative local-search method. The definitions of label set similarity give rise to two non-trivial optimization problems, which, for the measures of set-intersection and Jaccard, we solve using a greedy strategy and non-negative least squares, respectively. We also develop a distributed version of our algorithm based on the BSP model and implement it using a Pregel framework. Our algorithm uses as input pairwise similarities of objects and can thus be applied when clustering structured objects for which feature vectors are not available. As a proof of concept, we apply our algorithms on three different and complex application domains: trajectories, amino-acid sequences, and textual documents.  相似文献

A double approach method for versatile detection of similar objects from the real environment is introduced. By searching both the shape and textural data from the video image, it is possible to solve a generalized location problem without a loss in overall reliability in near–real time. An average “real” process is determined from 55 processes automated by an automation system. This a first step in developing realistic benchmark processes for making objective evaluation tests between the performance of different automation systems. The most important properties of the average process that are independent of the automation system used and that are important performance indicators are presented in the paper.The real process, representing the statistical mean of the process data best, is a papermachine with a pulp making department. The process has 141 analog inputs, 50 binary inputs, 90 analog outputs, 63 binary outputs, 77 motor controls, 8 motor value controls, 308 process interfaces, and 165 displays.  相似文献

We address one of the central issues in devising languages, methods and tools for the modelling and analysis of complex biological systems, that of linking high-level (e.g. intercellular) information with lower-level (e.g. intracellular) information. Adequate ways of dealing with this issue are crucial for understanding biological networks and pathways, which typically contain huge amounts of data that continue to grow as our knowledge and understanding of a system increases. Trying to comprehend such data using the standard methods currently in use is often virtually impossible. We propose a two-tier compound visual language, which we call Biocharts, that is geared towards building fully executable models of biological systems. One of the main goals of our approach is to enable biologists to actively participate in the computational modelling effort, in a natural way. The high-level part of our language is a version of statecharts, which have been shown to be extremely successful in software and systems engineering. The statecharts can be combined with any appropriately well-defined language (preferably a diagrammatic one) for specifying the low-level dynamics of the pathways and networks. We illustrate the language and our general modelling approach using the well-studied process of bacterial chemotaxis.  相似文献

A new instrument, density monitor (DENSMO), for aerosol particle size distribution characterization and monitoring has been developed. DENSMO is operationally simple and capable of measuring the effective density as well as the aerodynamic and the mobility median diameters with a time resolution of 1 s, from unimodal particle size distributions. The characterization is performed with a zeroth order mobility analyzer in series with a low pressure impactor and a filter stage. The operation of DENSMO was investigated with sensitivity analysis and, based on the results, optimal operation parameters were determined. DENSMO was also compared, in lab test measurements, against a reference method with several particle materials with bulk densities from 0.92 to 10.5 g/cm3. The results show that the deviation from the reference method was less than 25% for suitable materials.

This article discusses observations made when the state space of the 2 × 2 × 2 Rubik’s cube was constructed with various programs based on various data structures, gives theoretical explanations for the observations, and uses them to develop more memory-efficient data structures. The cube has 3,674,160 reachable states. The fastest program runs in 20 s and uses 11.1 million bytes of memory for the state set structure. It uses a 31-bit representation of the state and also stores the rotation through which each state was first found. Its memory consumption is remarkably small, considering that 3,674,160 × 31 bits is about 14.2 million bytes. Getting below this number was made possible by sharing common parts of states. Obviously, it is not possible to reduce memory consumption without limit. We derive an information-theoretic hard average lower bound of 6.07 million bytes that applies in this setting. We introduce a general-purpose variant of the data structure and end up with 8.9 million bytes and 48 s. We also discuss the performance of BDDs and perfect state packing in this application.  相似文献

The nucleation and growth of single‐walled carbon nanotubes is observed in situ in a transmission electron microscope. Carbon atoms are implanted into catalytically active metal particles by electron‐beam sputtering. The metal particles are then shaped with a focused electron beam. Once the particles have a region of high surface curvature, spontaneous nucleation and growth of single‐walled carbon nanotubes occurs on the metal particles. It is shown that the local solubility of carbon in the metal determines the nucleation of nanotubes. This is confirmed by atomistic computer simulations treating the solubility of carbon in a metal particle as a function of the size of the system.  相似文献

The HIF prolyl 4-hydroxylases (HIF-P4H) control hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF), a powerful mechanism regulating cellular adaptation to decreased oxygenation. The gastrointestinal epithelium subsists in “physiological hypoxia” and should therefore have an especially well-designed control over this adaptation. Thus, we assessed the absolute mRNA expression levels of the HIF pathway components, Hif1a, HIF2a, Hif-p4h-1, 2 and 3 and factor inhibiting HIF (Fih1) in murine jejunum, caecum and colon epithelium using droplet digital PCR. We found a higher expression of all these genes towards the distal end of the gastrointestinal tract. We detected mRNA for Hif-p4h-1, 2 and 3 in all parts of the gastrointestinal tract. Hif-p4h-2 had significantly higher expression levels compared to Hif-p4h-1 and 3 in colon and caecum epithelium. To test the roles each HIF-P4H isoform plays in the gut epithelium, we measured the gene expression of classical HIF target genes in Hif-p4h-1−/−, Hif-p4h-2 hypomorph and Hif-p4h-3−/− mice. Only Hif-p4h-2 hypomorphism led to an upregulation of HIF target genes, confirming a predominant role of HIF-P4H-2. However, the abundance of Hif-p4h-1 and 3 expression in the gastrointestinal epithelium implies that these isoforms may have specific functions as well. Thus, the development of selective inhibitors might be useful for diverging therapeutic needs.  相似文献

4. Conclusions It has been proposed that thickened pericardium is the main cause of the cardiac malfunction in Mulibrey nanism cardiopathy. In contrary, we showed that the pericardial thickness was normal in all our patients. Diastolic 1/3 filling was rapid, but in normal limits when taking into account the young age of our patient population. Although, LV time volume curves did not show remarkable pathologic changes, a restrictive physiology cannot be definitively excluded. LV end diastolic volumes and cardiac output were clearly reduced in our patients. It could be possible that in the course of time the reduced cardiac output affects clinical pattern of heart failure despite of normal systolic function. The reduced LA largest volume and atrial cyclic volume change may partly contribute to the low cardiac output observed in our patients.  相似文献
