We present a simulation and visualization system for a critical application—analysis of the thermal fluid dynamics inside a pressurized water reactor of a nuclear power plant when cold water is injected into the reactor vessel. We employ a hybrid thermal lattice Boltzmann method (HTLBM), which has the advantages of ease of parallelization and ease of handling complex simulation boundaries. For efficient computation and storage of the irregular-shaped simulation domain, we classify the domain into nonempty and empty cells and apply a novel packing technique to organize the nonempty cells. This method is implemented on a GPU cluster for acceleration. We demonstrate the formation of cold-water plumes in the reactor vessel. A set of interactive visualization tools, such as side-view slices, 3D volume rendering, thermal layers rendering, and panorama rendering, are provided to collectively visualize the structure and dynamics of the temperature field in the vessel. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first system that combines 3D simulation and visualization for analyzing thermal shock risk in a pressurized water reactor.  相似文献

Geo-demographic analysis is an essential part of a geographical information system (GIS) for predicting people’s behavior based on statistical models and their residential location. Fuzzy Geographically Weighted Clustering (FGWC) serves as one of the most efficient algorithms in geo-demographic analysis. Despite being an effective algorithm, FGWC is sensitive to initialize when the random selection of cluster centers makes the iterative process falling into the local optimal solution easily. Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), one of the most popular meta-heuristic algorithms, can be regarded as the tool to achieve global optimization solutions. This research aims to propose a novel geo-demographic analysis algorithm that integrates FGWC to the optimization scheme of ABC for improving geo-demographic clustering accuracy. Experimental results on various datasets show that the clustering quality of the proposed algorithm called FGWC-ABC is better than those of other relevant methods. The proposed algorithm is also applied to a decision-making application for analyzing crime behavior problem in the population using the US communities and crime dataset. It provides fuzzy rules to determine the violent crime rate in terms of linguistic labels from socioeconomic variables. These results are significant to make predictions of further US violent crime rate and to facilitate appropriate decisions on prevention such the situations in the future.  相似文献

We present an approach for simulating the natural dynamics that emerge from the interaction between a flow field and immersed objects. We model the flow field using the lattice Boltzmann model (LBM) with boundary conditions appropriate for moving objects and accelerate the computation on commodity graphics hardware (GPU) to achieve real-time performance. The boundary conditions mediate the exchange of momentum between the flow field and the moving objects resulting in forces exerted by the flow on the objects as well as the back-coupling on the flow. We demonstrate our approach using soap bubbles and a feather. The soap bubbles illustrate Fresnel reflection, reveal the dynamics of the unseen flow field in which they travel, and display spherical harmonics in their undulations. Our simulation allows the user to directly interact with the flow field to influence the dynamics in real time. The free feather flutters and gyrates in response to lift and drag forces created by its motion relative to the flow. Vortices are created as the free feather falls in an otherwise quiescent flow.  相似文献

Fast Hybrid Approach for Texturing Point Models   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We present three methods for texturing point models from sample textures. The first method, the point parameterization method, uses a fast distortion‐bounded parameterization algorithm to flatten the point model's surface into one or more 2D patches. The sample texture is mapped onto these patches and alpha blending is used to minimize the discontinuity in the gaps between the patches. The second method is based on neighborhood matching where a color is assigned to each point by searching the best match within an irregular neighborhood. The hybrid method combines the former two methods, capitalizing on the advantages of both. The point parameterization method is used first to color most of the points, and the point neighborhood‐matching method is then applied to the points belonging to the gaps between the parameterized patches to minimize the discontinuity. We opt for fast texture generation, while some discontinuities may appear in the gaps of anisotropic textures.  相似文献

The order reduction method for singularly perturbed optimal control systems consists of employing the system obtained while setting the small parameter to zero. In many situations the differential-algebraic system thus obtained indeed provides an appropriate approximation to the singularly perturbed optimal control problem under consideration. In this paper we show, however, that the set of singularly perturbed optimal control systems for which the order reduction approach is invalid is dense (in the L norm) in the class of systems which we consider. Second-order sliding modes are used to keep exactly a constraint of the second relative degree or just to avoid chattering, i.e. in the cases when the standard (first order) sliding mode implementation might be involved or impossible. Design of a number of new 2-sliding controllers is demonstrated by means of the proposed homogeneity-based approach. A recently developed robust exact differentiator being applied, robust output-feedback controllers with finite-time convergence are produced, capable to control any general uncertain single-input-single-output process with relative degree 2. An effective simple procedure is developed to attenuate the 1-sliding mode chattering. Simulation of new controllers is presented.  相似文献

Boundary cell-based acceleration for volume ray casting   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Several effective acceleration techniques for volume rendering offer efficient means to skip over empty space, providing significant speedup without affecting image quality. The effectiveness of such an approach depends on its ability to accurately estimate the object boundary inside a volume with minimal computational overhead. We propose a novel boundary cell-based acceleration technique for ray casting which skips over empty space by accurately calculating the intersection distance for each ray. Very short distance estimation time is achieved by exploiting a projection template to calculate the parallel-projection values of each boundary cell and the coherency of adjacent cells. Since no hardware acceleration is used, the projection procedure can also be efficiently parallelized. Experimental results are provided to demonstrate the performance of our new algorithm.  相似文献

This paper introduces a novel neuro-dynamical model that accounts for possible mechanisms of action imitation and learning. It is considered that imitation learning requires at least two classes of generalization. One is generalization over sensory–motor trajectory variances, and the other class is on cognitive level which concerns on more qualitative understanding of compositional actions by own and others which do not necessarily depend on exact trajectories. This paper describes a possible model dealing with these classes of generalization by focusing on the problem of action compositionality. The model was evaluated in the experiments using a small humanoid robot. The robot was trained with a set of different actions concerning object manipulations which can be decomposed into sequences of action primitives. Then the robot was asked to imitate a novel compositional action demonstrated by a human subject which are composed from prior-learned action primitives. The results showed that the novel action can be successfully imitated by decomposing and composing it with the primitives by means of organizing unified intentional representation hosted by mirror neurons even though the trajectory-level appearance is different between the ones of observed and those of self-generated.  相似文献

Combining predicate and numeric abstraction for software model checking   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Predicate (PA) and numeric (NA) abstractions are the two principal techniques for software analysis. In this paper, we develop an approach to couple the two techniques tightly into a unified framework via a single abstract domain called NumPredDom. In particular, we develop and evaluate four data structures that implement NumPredDom but differ in their expressivity and internal representation and algorithms. All our data structures combine BDDs (for efficient propositional reasoning) with data structures for representing numerical constraints. Our technique is distinguished by its support for complex transfer functions that allow two-way interaction between predicate and numeric information during state transformation. We have implemented a general framework for reachability analysis of C programs on top of our four data structures. Our experiments on non-trivial examples show that our proposed combination of PA and NA is more powerful and more efficient than either technique alone.  相似文献
