Vitamin B12 is an animal origin nutrient of a substantial importance in human diet. Its concentration in foodstuffs is low and its chemical forms are diverse, which significantly hampers its precise determination. The determination method of choice is HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography) coupled with inductively-coupled-plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). The main disadvantage of this method is high instrumentation cost and complexity of handling. The aim of this work was to develop a novel approach for determination of vitamin B12 bio-active forms in beef and beef liver. The proposed method comprises the following steps: (i) vitamin B12 is cleaved off from peptides using thermal denaturation in a weakly acidic environment; (ii) sample is cleaned-up using liquid-liquid extraction and reversed phase solid phase extraction; and finally (iii) vitamin B12 is determined using HPLC and single-quadrupole mass spectrometer with ESI source. Vitamin B12 concentrations in various beef meats were in the 2.84-3.95 μg 100g(-1) range. Average B12 concentration in beef liver was 153,60 μg 100g(-1) (n = 15). Major forms of B12 present in beef meat include adenosine cobalamin (AdoCbl) and in smaller quantities hydroxycobalamin (OHCbl). Major forms of vitamin B12 present in beef liver include OHCbl (48.2%), AdoCbl (33.8%), methylocobalamin (MeCbl, 16.3%), and cyanocobalamin (CNCbl, 1.7%). Thermal treatment noticeably decreases B12 the content in meat. Depending on conditions of treatment, B12 concentrations in the 1.04-2.20 μg 100g(-1) range were found in processed meats.  相似文献

Segmentation of anatomical structures in radiological images is one of the important steps in the computerized approach to the bone age assessment. In this paper a method dealing with correct location of the borders in the epi-metaphyseal regions of interest is described. The well segmented bone structures are obtained utilizing the Gibbs random fields as the first segmentation step; however this method does not prove to be adequate in the correct outline of other tissues in the epi-metaphyseal area. In order to correct delineation of cartilage in this region, the second segmentation step utilizing the active contours serving as a post-segmentation edge location technique is applied. Controlling of tension and bending of the active contour requires a set of weights in the energy functional to be set. To adjust the weights and to initially test the methodology a model of region of interest containing three different anatomical structures corrupted with Gaussian noise has been designed. Combined methodology of Gibbs random fields and active contours with the final set of weights was applied to 200 regions of interest randomly selected from 1100 left hand radiographs. A meaningful improvement in terms of ultimate contour location and smoothing has been observed in regions with cartilage or bone convexity developed near the bottom region of the epiphysis.

Methods of imaging phase objects are considered. First the square-root filter is inferred from a definition of fractional-order derivatives given in terms of the integration of a fractional order called the Riemann-Liouville integral. Then we present a comparison of the performance of three frequency-domain real filters: square root, Foucault, and Hoffman. The phase-object imaging method is useful as a phase-shift measurement technique under the condition that the output image intensity is a known function of object phase. For the square-root filter it is the first derivative of the object phase function. The Foucault filter, in spite of its position, gives output image intensities expressed by Hilbert transforms. The output image intensity obtained with the Hoffman filter is not expressed by an analytical formula. The performance of the filters in a 4f imaging system with coherent illumination is simulated by use of VirtualLab 1.0 software.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of a poly(ethylene glycol) surface-active coating on the mechanical properties of biocompatible magnetic fluids. The coating of long-chain polymer molecules on ferrite particles serves as a protective layer that prevents agglomeration of the particles and minimizes the direct exposure of the ferrite surface to the biological environment. A useful method of studying mechanical properties of magnetic fluids is based on using ultrasound.  相似文献

Within this study, the electrochemically inert, molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) γ-LiAlO2 matrix is replaced by oxygen ion conducting ceramics, typical for solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) application. Such solution leads to synergistic ion transport both by molten carbonate mix (CO32-) and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) or samaria-doped ceria (SDC) matrix (O2-).Single unit cell tests confirm that application of hybrid ionic membrane increases the performance (power density) of the MCFC over pure γ-LiAlO2 for a wide range of operating temperatures (600 °C–750 °C). Cell power density with SDC and YSZ matrices is 2% and 13% higher, respectively, compared to the γ-LiAlO2 at typical 650 °C operating temperature of MCFC.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of the particle size distribution (PSD) of a transformer oil-based ferrofluid was studied using an ultrasound method. The measurements of the ultrasound velocity and attenuation were carried out in the absence of an external magnetic field as a function of the volume concentration of magnetite particles at temperatures ranging from 10 °C to 80 °C. The experimental results of ultrasound measurements were analyzed within the framework of the Vinogradov–Isakovich theory which takes into account contributions to acoustical parameters due to friction and heat exchange between magnetic particles and the surrounding carrier liquid. From the best fit of the experimental results and theoretical predictions, the parameters characterizing the PSD at different temperatures were determined. In order to analyze ultrasonic data, the density and viscosity of ferrofluid samples and the transformer oil were also measured.  相似文献

Laser stimulation with 1300 nm as thermal (TLS) and with 1064 nm as photoelectric (PLS) laser stimulation techniques are now widely used in failure analysis of Integrated Circuits. The stimulation signatures when using a 1064 nm laser are often a combination of PLS and TLS along with laser induced impact ionization. The results show the existence of laser induce impact ionization current component when high laser power is applied. This work presents a quantitative investigation of 1064 nm laser stimulation effects on single NMOSFET devices. For high laser power applications the impact ionization current becomes the dominant component for 1064 nm laser stimulation.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine the nutritional value of organic milk in Poland, investigate the influence of diet on antioxidant capacity and degree of antioxidant protection (DAP), and to examine the effect of season on the bioactive properties of milk from organic farms. From 2014 to 2015, 820 milk samples were collected from 6 organic farms during indoor feeding season (IDS) and pasture feeding season (PS). Pasture feeding season + corn grain (PSCG) cows’ daily ration during pasture feeding season was enriched with 4 kg a day of corn to improve dietary energy balance. Milk obtained during PS was found to have a higher fat content, slight but significantly lower protein content compared with milk from IDS. The study showed that the content of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) in milk fat was strongly linked to the concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and, to a lesser extent, on the supply of MUFA. The IDS data (concentration of vitamin E, A, and β‐carotene) showed the lowest values compared with the PS and PSCG groups. Total antioxidant status (TAS) and DAP showed an increasing trend in organic milk. PSCG was associated with highest level of DAP (9% higher than PS and 79% higher than IDS) and TAS (37% higher than PS and 79% higher than IDS). The results obtained show that supplementation of the basic ration with corn grain improved both TAS and DAP. The higher DAP and TAS value is responsible for product stability, considering the risk factor related to levels of cholesterol‐oxide intake in humans.  相似文献

This article has reported the results of rheological testing of low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) and its calcium carbonate composites containing 7, 14, 21, and 28 wt% filler, respectively. The polymer composites were produced in a twin‐screw extrusion process. The assessment of the rheological properties of the polymeric materials was made under extrusion process conditions, using an in‐line rheometer with an extrusion slit die (W = 20, H = 2, L = 150 mm), at temperatures of 170°C, 180°C, and 190°C, respectively. The rheological parameters were determined based on the Ostwald‐de‐Waele power law model. The employed testing stand enabled the assessment of the effect of filler addition and slit die temperature on the variations in viscosity, power law index (n), consistency index (K), maximum flow velocity (Vmax), and maximum flow profiles (Vz), under the conditions of technological processing (extrusion) of plastics.
