The objective of the present study is to investigate the efficiency of indirect adiabatic chiller-based cooling system efficiency dependence of outdoor air humidity. The system is located in historical building, in temperate climate of Latvia. The data about electricity consumption, water consumption, chiller operation stages, cooling average temperatures and outdoor air parameters have been acquired for the period of 2.5 month, during the cooling season. Using data collected by BACnet based BMS controllers and adiabatic chiller control system, we have analyzed operation efficiency of the chiller and its dependence of outdoor air humidity. Data range for the period from August 1st till October 13th, 2011 was taken for deeper analysis, which showed that in temperature range 22.0 ± 0.5 ℃ for the studied period of time chiller's COP is slightly dependent on the outdoor air moisture. 相似文献
This paper addresses the order picking sequence problem in an automated warehouse where parts of an order picker's travelling tour are fixed, the length of the layout is significantly longer than the width, and the picker can hold only one item at a given time. The problem is to find an optimal sequence with given vertical paths and so it is a special type of travelling salesman problem. A simple sorting-based heuristic and an efficient clustering-based algorithm are developed for this problem. In order to use the gantry robots more efficiently, a flexible drop buffer assignment is considered and the proposed algorithms are modified for the new operating condition. Fresh-cut Amarillo melon was stored under passive modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for 14 days at 5 °C. Three commercial films were tested: microperforated polypropylene (MPP), bioriented PP (BPP), and oriented PP (OPP). As a control, a macroperforated PP film was used. The effect of a citric acid dip treatment (0.52 mM) on the quality of the melon pieces packaged in OPP film was also evaluated. A similar final gas composition (4 kPa O2 plus 12–13 kPa CO2) within packages was achieved by using the three tested films. This atmosphere was effective for maintaining sensorial quality and microbial safety and for avoiding weight loss and translucency. When citric acid dip was applied, a reduction of microbial counts, a low discoloration, an increase of lightness, and a general improvement of visual appearance were found. However, after 14 days of storage, neither MAP treatments nor citric acid dip were enough to avoid softening of at least 23%, although the highest value (32%) was found in control pieces. Taking into account safety, quality attributes and consumer acceptance, shelf life of fresh processed melon stored under the studied MAP conditions could be stabilised for 10 days. 相似文献
Bayesian change-point detection, with latent variable models, allows to perform segmentation of high-dimensional time-series with heterogeneous statistical nature. We assume that change-points lie on a lower-dimensional manifold where we aim to infer a discrete representation via subsets of latent variables. For this particular model, full inference is computationally unfeasible and pseudo-observations based on point-estimates of latent variables are used instead. However, if their estimation is not certain enough, change-point detection gets affected. To circumvent this problem, we propose a multinomial sampling methodology that improves the detection rate and reduces the delay while keeping complexity stable and inference analytically tractable. Our experiments show results that outperform the baseline method and we also provide an example oriented to a human behavioral study.
Enterprise information security is a talent-centric proposition. Information assurance is a product of the combined expertise, attention-to-detail, and creativity of an information security team. A competitive edge can be obtained by hiring the top information security professionals. Therefore, identifying the right people is a mission-critical task. To assist in the candidate selection process, this research analyzes the enduring traits and values of top security performers. It identifies the personality traits and values which distinguish high-performing information security workers. In a laboratory study, a series of simulations were administered to 61 subjects to assess their ability to solve various information security problems. The characteristics of top information security performers were contrasted against the rest of the cohort. In terms of personality, the top performers have higher levels of conscientiousness and openness. With respect to values, the top performers have stronger theoretical and economic values. 相似文献
