The paper describes a theoretical study concerning the performance of an externally pressurized multirecess hydrostatic/hybrid flexible journal bearing system by varying the geometric shape of recess and using the membrane flow valve restrictor as a compensating element. The four different recess geometries of the bearing studied in the present study are a square recessed bearing, a circular recessed bearing, an elliptical recessed bearing and a triangular recessed bearing. The equation governing the flow of lubricant in a journal bearing together with 3D elasticity equation and restrictor flow equation are solved by using the Finite Element Method. The study describes the effect of recess shape, bearing flexibility and a method of compensation on the performance characteristics of a hydrostatic/hybrid journal bearing system. A comparative performance of the membrane compensated hydrostatic/hybrid journal bearing system has also been studied vis-à-vis capillary, orifice and constant flow valve restrictors. The results presented in this study amply demonstrate that the shape of recess/pocket of a hydrostatic/hybrid flexible journal bearing system affects the performance of the bearing quite appreciably and a proper selection of recess shape along with a suitable compensating device is needed to get an improved performance from the bearing.  相似文献

To explore the potential of aporphine alkaloids, a novel series of functionalized aporphine analogues with alkoxy (OCH3, OC2H5, OC3H7) functional groups at C1/C2 of ring A and an acyl (COCH3 and COPh) or phenylsulfonyl (SO2Ph and SO2C6H4‐3‐CH3) functionality at the N6 position of ring B of the aporphine scaffold were synthesized and evaluated for their arachidonic acid (AA)‐induced antiplatelet aggregation inhibitory activity and 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free‐radical‐scavenging antioxidant activity, with acetylsalicylic acid and ascorbic acid as standard references, respectively. The preliminary structure–activity relationship related to AA‐induced platelet aggregation inhibitory activity results showed that the aporphine analogues 1‐[1,2,9,10‐tetramethoxy‐6a,7‐dihydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinolin‐6(5H)‐yl]ethanone and 1‐[2‐(benzyloxy)‐1,9,10‐trimethoxy‐6a,7‐dihydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinolin‐6(5H)‐yl]ethanone to be the best compounds of the series. Moreover, the DPPH free‐radical‐scavenging antioxidant activity results demonstrated that the aporphine analogues 1,2,9,10‐tetramethoxy‐6‐(methylsulfonyl)‐5,6,6a,7‐tetrahydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinoline, 2‐ethoxy‐1,9,10‐trimethoxy‐6‐(methylsulfonyl)‐5,6,6a,7‐tetrahydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinoline, 1‐ethoxy‐2,9,10‐trimethoxy‐6‐(methylsulfonyl)‐5,6,6a,7‐tetrahydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinoline, 2,9,10‐trimethoxy‐6‐(methylsulfonyl)‐1‐propoxy‐5,6,6a,7‐tetrahydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinoline, and 1‐(benzyloxy)‐2,9,10‐trimethoxy‐6‐(methylsulfonyl)‐5,6,6a,7‐tetrahydro‐4H‐dibenzo[de,g]quinoline were the best compounds of the series. Moreover, in silico molecular docking simulation studies of the active analogues were also performed.  相似文献

We have investigated the effect of C60 concentration on the performance of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexoxy-p-phenylene vinylene] (MEH-PPV):C60 blend-based Schottky barrier-based devices. Incorporation of C60 in MEH-PPV leads to a red shift and the reduction of intensity in MEH-PPV absorption spectra. The appearance of a C60 characteristic band in the Raman spectra of the composites indicates the presence of C60 in the blends. A FESEM study reveals that the addition of C60 significantly modifies the surface morphology of the blend films. However, higher concentrations (>?5 wt.%) results in agglomeration of C60 particles. Dark IV measurements allow us to extract various diode parameters including barrier height, ideality factor, and saturation current. Profound variations have been observed in the dominant charge carrier transport mechanism for different C60 concentrations. A photoresponse study demonstrates the enhancement in the photocurrent with the increase in the C60 concentration up to 5 wt.%. Beyond this concentration, agglomeration impedes exciton dissociation and charge transport, which results in a decrease in the photocurrent. Finally, an impedance spectroscopy analysis has been extensively carried out to estimate the internal device parameters, such as junction resistance, capacitance and carrier lifetime. The correlation between these parameters and IV curves has been established.  相似文献

A series of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA)/ethylene‐propylene diene elastomer (EPDM) blends (50/50 ratio) with four types of EVAs were prepared using brabender type batch mixer followed by compression molding. All compression‐molded samples were exposed to gamma radiation at 500, 1000, and 1500 kGy doses and were subjected to mechanical, compression set, thermal and morphological test. The % retention in tensile strength, elongation, and hardness were found higher for higher vinyl acetate (VA) containing radiation aged EVA/EPDM blends. The compression set value was decreased with increase of VA content. The thermal degradation kinetics of high VA containing irradiated blend (EVA40/EPDM) (EVA40 is 40%VA containing EVA) was found slower than those of lower VA containing blend (EVA18/EPDM). The surface morphology for EVA18/EPDM sample was transformed into more irregular one with more cracks and fragmented segments by aging at 1500 kGy dose while surface for EVA40/EPDM sample was found comparatively smooth, fine, and continuous with very few cracks and fragmented parts at similar dose. Thus, from the measured properties and morphology, it was revealed that the degree of degradation of blends kept on decreasing with increase in VA content. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. An inductive energy storage pulse power system is being developed in BARC, India. Simple, compact, and robust opening switches, capable of generating hundreds of kV, are key elements in the development of inductive energy storage pulsed power sources. It employs an inductive energy storage and opening switch power conditioning techniques with high energy density capacitors as the primary energy store. The energy stored in the capacitor bank is transferred to an air cored storage inductor in 5.5 μs through wire fuses. By optimizing the exploding wire parameters, a compact, robust, high voltage pulse power system, capable of generating reproducibly 240 kV, is developed. This study proposes a Vehicle ID‐based CAM Rate Adaptation (VI‐CRA) algorithm for beacon messages in the vehicular network. Foremost, an improved vehicle ID–based analytical model is proposed at the MAC layer of vehicular network. The model weighs the random back‐off number chosen by vehicles participating in the back‐off process, with the vehicle ID incorporated in their respective CAMs. This eventually leads to the selection of a vehicle ID–based random back‐off number, minimizing the probability of collision due to same back‐off number selection. It is worth noting that the improved analytical model outperforms the existing works in terms of average packet delay since only one fourth of the contention window size is used throughout the simulation. To enhance the performance of the analytical model, the paper incorporates a congestion control algorithm, by adapting the rate of CAM broadcast over the control channel. The algorithm is designed considering a wide range of scenarios, ranging from nonsaturated to extremely saturated network (in terms of collision probability) and sparsely distributed to teemed network (in terms of vehicular density). For better analyses of simulation results, the algorithm is applied over different vehicle ID–based back‐off numbers. Simulation results for all the back‐off numbers show that vehicle ID–based CAM rate adaptation algorithm performs better than the traditional fixed CAM rate IEEE 802.11p, even at high vehicular density.  相似文献

Three‐dimensional polymer nanofibrous mats with tunable wettability have been fabricated using a single step non‐conductive template assisted electrospinning process. Cellulose acetate nanofibers are electrospun over a nylon mesh, which acts as the template. The as‐deposited fiber mat is removed from this template to produce a free standing three‐dimensional micropatterned nanofibrous mat. By simply varying the template mesh dimensions, the fraction of the air‐liquid interface can be changed which allows control of the wetting mechanics. It is shown that the water contact angle can be varied from about 30° for a planar network to about 140° for a patterned mat implying a complete transition from hydrophilic to hydrophobic behavior. Furthermore, upon stretching the fiber mat loses its pattern irreversibly and reducing the contact angle from 140° to 110° with increasing stretching. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. To observe the effect of ENGAGE (a poly‐olefin elastomer) on compatibilization of industrially important incompatible blend, high‐density polyethylene (HDPE)/ethylene‐propylene diene elastomer (EPDM), 15 wt % ENGAGE is incorporated into the system and the latter is found satisfactorily efficient as compatibilizer for the above system. To improve some industrially pertinent properties another strategies are also followed in addition, incorporation of magnesium hydroxide [Mg(OH)2] and electron beam (EB) crosslinking into the system. The gel content was found to increase with radiation dose, EPDM content and Mg(OH)2 dispersion. ENGAGE interestingly increases the gel content that is, promotes crosslinking. It is unique that filler dispersion and crosslinked network formation maintain the compatibility of the ternary system, which is confirmed by X‐ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, mechanical properties, and scanning electron microscope. The compatibilization, Mg(OH)2 dispersion, and EB crosslinking improve the mechanical, thermo mechanical, flame retardant properties, and phase morphology considerably. © 2017 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel tubular flow reactor where a straight tube is modified by pinching it periodically at a fixed pitch and at different angles is presented. Pinched tubes (straight tube as well as helical coils) with different pitch and angles between successive pinching are studied. This work reports a detailed hydrodynamic study involving single and two‐phase flow. Mixing experiments showed that having an angle of 90° between successive pinchs achieves the shortest mixing length when compared to lower angles. Pressure recovery along with sequence of high and low shear zones and change of flow direction imposed better mixing. Residence time distribution studies showed that higher number of pinch sections decreases the extent of dispersion, yet it deviates from plug flow. The performance is evaluated by carrying a homogeneous and two‐phase aromatic nitration and also liquid‐liquid extraction.
