Time series of vegetation indices (VIs) obtained by remote sensing are widely used to study phenology on regional and global scales. The aim of the study is to design a method and to produce a reference data set describing the seasonal and inter-annual variability of the land-surface phenology on a global scale. Specific constraints are inherent in the design of such a global reference data set: (1) the high diversity of vegetation types and the heterogeneous conditions of observation, (2) a near-daily resolution is needed to follow the rapid changes in phenology, (3) the time series used to depict the baseline vegetation cycle must be long enough to be representative of the current vegetation dynamic and encompass anomalies, and (4) a spatial resolution consistent with a land-cover-specific analysis should be privileged. This study focuses on the SPOT (Satellite Pour l’Observation de la Terre)-VEGETATION sensor and its 13-year time series of reflectance values. Five steps addressing the noise and the missing data in the reflectance time series were selected to process the daily multispectral reflectance observations. The final product provides, for every pixel, three profiles for 52 × 7-day periods: a mean, a median, and a standard deviation profile. The mean and median profiles represent the reference seasonal pattern for variation of the vegetation at a specific location whereas the standard deviation profile expresses the inter-annual variability of VIs. A quality flag at the pixel level demonstrated that the reference data set can be considered as a reliable representation of the vegetation phenology in most parts of the Earth.  相似文献

During hydrogen gas loading, Pd thin films exhibit an anomalous reduction of resistivity change with decreasing film thickness. In this paper we show that this effect can mainly be attributed to a stress-dependent reduction of hydrogen solubility at a given hydrogen pressure. Different stress states of the thin films result from different bonding to a rigid substrate. Strongly buckled thin films show bulk-like pressure–resistivity isotherms. The resistivity changes as a function of hydrogen concentration appear to be independent of film thickness. The apparent Sieverts’ constant seems to be larger for thin films compared to bulk, and increases with cycling of the thin films.  相似文献

Treatment of patients with urothelial carcinoma (UC) of the bladder or renal cancer has changed significantly during recent years and efforts towards biomarker-directed therapy are being investigated. Immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) or fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) directed therapy are being evaluated for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) patients, as well as muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) patients. Meanwhile, efforts to predict tumor response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) are still ongoing, and genomic biomarkers are being evaluated in prospective clinical trials. Currently, patients with metastatic UC (mUC) are usually treated with second-line ICI, while cisplatin-ineligible patients with programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) positive tumors can benefit from first-line ICI. Platinum-relapsed UC patients harboring FGFR2/3 mutations can be treated with erdafitinib, while enfortumab vedotin has emerged as a novel third-line treatment option for mUC. In metastatic (clear cell) renal cell carcinoma (RCC), ICI was first introduced as second-line treatment after vascular endothelial growth factor receptor—tyrosine kinase inhibition (VEGFR-TKI). Currently, ICIs have also been introduced as first-line treatment in metastatic RCC. Although there is no evidence up to now for beneficial adjuvant treatment after surgery with VEGFR-TKIs in high-risk non-metastatic RCC, several trials are underway investigating the potential beneficial effect of ICIs in this setting.  相似文献

Selective switching of enzymatic activity has been a longstanding goal in synthetic biology. Drastic changes in activity upon mutational manipulation of the oligomerization state of enzymes have frequently been reported in the literature, but scarcely exploited for switching. Using geranylgeranylglyceryl phosphate synthase as a model, we demonstrate that catalytic activity can be efficiently controlled by exogenous modulation of the association state. We introduced a lysine-to-cysteine mutation, leading to the breakdown of the active hexamer into dimers with impaired catalytic efficiency. Addition of bromoethylamine chemically rescued the enzyme by restoring hexamerization and activity. As an alternative method, we incorporated the photosensitive unnatural amino acid o-nitrobenzyl-O-tyrosine (ONBY) into the hexamerization interface. This again led to inactive dimers, but the hexameric state and activity could be recovered by UV-light induced cleavage of ONBY. For both approaches, we obtained switching factors greater than 350-fold, which compares favorably with previously reported activity changes that were caused by site-directed mutagenesis.  相似文献

Chronic inflammatory diseases and transplant rejection represent major challenges for modern health care. Thus, identification of immune checkpoints that contribute to resolution of inflammation is key to developing novel therapeutic agents for those conditions. In recent years, the CD83 (cluster of differentiation 83) protein has emerged as an interesting potential candidate for such a “pro-resolution” therapy. This molecule occurs in a membrane-bound and a soluble isoform (mCD83 and sCD83, respectively), both of which are involved in resolution of inflammation. Originally described as a maturation marker on dendritic cells (DCs), mCD83 is also expressed by activated B and T cells as well as regulatory T cells (Tregs) and controls turnover of MHC II molecules in the thymus, and thereby positive selection of CD4+ T cells. Additionally, it serves to confine overshooting (auto-)immune responses. Consequently, animals with a conditional deletion of CD83 in DCs or regulatory T cells suffer from impaired resolution of inflammation. Pro-resolving effects of sCD83 became evident in pre-clinical autoimmune and transplantation models, where application of sCD83 reduced disease symptoms and enhanced allograft survival, respectively. Here, we summarize recent advances regarding CD83-mediated resolution of inflammatory responses, its binding partners as well as induced signaling pathways, and emphasize its therapeutic potential for future clinical trials.  相似文献

Cod liver oil (CLO) with no added antioxidants (REF), 200 mg/kg ascorbyl palmitate (AP), and/or 800 mg/kg tocopherol concentrate (TOH) were stored in sealed bottles with a small headspace of air at 25°C in the dark. A binary mix of TOH +AP affected the sensory perception of CLO by leading to a more grass/cucumber-like and less herring oil-like impression, whereas TOH alone had no effect. This was caused by the different influence of the antioxidants with regard to formation of volatile oxidation products. TOH+AP promoted formation of, e.g., hexanal, 2-hexenal, and 2,6-nonadienal and inhibited formation of, e.g., 2,4-heptadienal. TOH affected the proportions of trans, cis-and trans,trans-2,4-heptadienal that were formed and inhibited formation of, e.g., 1-penten-3-ol, whereas formation of acetic acid and some other volatiles was inhibited by both antioxidants. The total amount of volatiles increased during the experiment, and with REF were significantly higher (P<0.05) than with TOH. The PV increased during the first 2 wk of storage. PV levels were in the order of TOH>REF>TOH+AP. The observed effects could partly be explained by hydrogen donation from TOH to peroxyl radicals, but the mode of action for AP was unclear.  相似文献

Combustion and industrial processes are an important source of particles. Due to the new PM 10 and PM 2.5 standards for ambient air quality, a sampling system for PM 10/PM 2.5 in-stack measurements was designed and calibrated. In this new system, the exhaust gas is isokinetically sucked into a two stage impactor through the inlet of a plane filter device and the aerosol is fractionated in the particle size classes >10 w m, 10-2.5 w m, and <2.5 w m. Due to a relatively high volume flow (ca. 3.2 m 3 /h, depending on exhaust gas conditions), sampling times are kept short, e.g., 30 min for dust concentrations of 10 mg/m 3 . The impactor was calibrated in the laboratory and then operated at various industrial plants. Parallel measurements with identical devices showed average standard deviations of 3.1% (PM 10) and 3.4% (PM 2.5). Measurements of the cascade impactor together with the plane filter device gave plausible results and average PMx/TSP ratios of 0.49 (PM 2.5/TSP) and 0.78 (PM 10/TSP), showing a large variability for different processes. Elemental analysis using total-reflection X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, together with the size-fractionated sampling, proved to give characteristic patterns of the emitted aerosols, which can be used for a subsequent fingerprint modelling for source apportionment of ambient air pollution.  相似文献

The present research investigated the role of executive functioning in person perception. Given the assumption that perceivers' recollective preference for unexpected material relies on the operation of an executive cognitive process (i.e., inconsistency resolution), it was anticipated that only under dual-task conditions in which executive functioning is impaired would one expect inconsistency resolution to be impaired and perceivers' memory bias for unexpected material to be eliminated. When concurrent mental activity impairs the operation of nonexecutive cognitive operations, inconsistency resolution and the related process of individuation were not expected to be impaired. The results of 2 experiments using different memory measures (e.g., free recall and source identification) supported these predictions.
