A structurally important self-assembly of dinuclear and trinuclear zinc-benzoate complexes having formula [Zn3(μ-OBz)6(py)2] · [Zn2(OBz)4(py)2] (A) (where OBz is benzoate and py is pyridine ligand) is reported. A design principle for seven coordinated metal carboxylate complexes and coordination polymers of Mn(II), Cd(II) and Na(I)
derived from (3-carboxymethoxy-naphthalen-2-yloxy)-acetic acid (LH2) is presented. The complexes/coordination polymer [Mn(L)(H2O)3]·3H2O (1), [{Cd(L)(H2O)2}·H2O]n (2); [Cd(L)(py)3]·3H2O (3) have metal ions in pentagonal bipyramid environments (py = pyridine). The coordination polymer [{Cd(L)(H2O)2}·H2O]n (2) may be considered to be the self-assembly of hexacoordinated [Cd(L)(H2O)2] units; it reacts with pyridine to form mono-nuclear complex 3. Depending on the reaction conditions, Ni-coordination polymers of L adopt different compositions. From the reaction carried out with NiCl2 and NaOH in quinoline and water, a hetero bimetallic coordination polymer; namely, [[NaL(H2O)]2Ni(H2O)4]n (4) is obtained. A similar reaction in pyridine-water solvent led to [{Ni(L)(py)3}.py]n (5). The coordination polymer 5 has pyridine in its interstices held by C–H···π interactions. 相似文献

Zinc oxide nanorod mediated visible light photoinactivation of model microbes in water 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
The inactivation of model microbes in aqueous matrix by visible light photocatalysis as mediated by ZnO nanorods was investigated. ZnO nanorods were grown on glass substrate following a hydrothermal route and employed in the inactivation of gram-negative Escherichia coli and gram-positive Bacillus subtilis in MilliQ water. The concentration of Zn(2+) ions in the aqueous matrix, bacterial cell membrane damage, and DNA degradation at post-exposure were also studied. The inactivation efficiencies for both organisms under light conditions were about two times higher than under dark conditions across the cell concentrations assayed. Anomalies in supernatant Zn(2+) concentration were observed under both conditions as compared to control treatments, while cell membrane damage and DNA degradation were observed only under light conditions. Inactivation under dark conditions was hence attributed to the bactericidal effect of Zn(2+) ions, while inactivation under light conditions was due to the combined effects of Zn(2+) ions and photocatalytically mediated electron injection. The reduction of pathogenic bacterial densities by the photocatalytically active ZnO nanorods in the presence of visible light implies potential ex situ application in water decontamination at ambient conditions under sunlight. 相似文献

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) functionalized polyethylene additives for improving the properties of lubricating oil has been investigated in which poly(MMA-co-ethylene) were synthesized by using three different polymerization techniques such as miniemulsion, post polymerization and reverse atom transfer radical polymerization with 1.0 molL −1 of MMA and 20 bar of ethylene pressure. The copolymers are block in nature with the composition of 1:3 molar ratios of ethylene:MMA which is independent of polymerization techniques used. 1H NMR analysis confirmed the successful incorporation of the copolymers in the lubricating oil. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals that the addition of poly(MMA-co-ethylene) increases thermal stability of the additive doped lubricating oil by approximately 40°C with a single stage decomposition pattern. Flash point measurements show an increasing flash point values for copolymer doped lubricating oil. From rheological study, the viscosity index of base lubricating oil has found significant increases from 102 to 129 with the addition of poly(MMA-co-ethylene) and the higher molecular weight (MW) of this copolymer provides better thickening efficiency. However, copolymer with higher MW seems to be more susceptible to mechanical degradation resulting in lower shear stability whereas copolymer with lower MW acts as a better pour point depressant. 相似文献
