Incorporating Ancestors' Influence in Genetic Algorithms   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1  
A new criterion of fitness evaluation for Genetic Algorithms is introduced where the fitness value of an individual is determined by considering its own fitness as well as those of its ancestors. Some guidelines for selecting the weighting coefficients for quantifying the importance to be given to the fitness of the individual and its ancestors are provided. This is done both heuristically and automatically under fixed and adaptive frameworks. The Schema Theorem corresponding to the proposed concept is derived. The effectiveness of this new methodology is demonstrated extensively on the problems of optimizing complex functions including a noisy one and selecting optimal neural network parameters.  相似文献

A mixture-of-experts framework for adaptive Kalman filtering   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
This paper proposes a modular and flexible approach to adaptive Kalman filtering using the framework of a mixture-of-experts regulated by a gating network. Each expert is a Kalman filter modeled with a different realization of the unknown system parameters such as process and measurement noise. The gating network performs on-line adaptation of the weights given to individual filter estimates based on performance. This scheme compares very favorably with the classical Magill filter bank, which is based on a Bayesian technique, in terms of: estimation accuracy; quicker response to changing environments; and numerical stability and computational demands. The proposed filter bank is further enhanced by periodically using a search algorithm in a feedback loop. Two search algorithms are considered. The first algorithm uses a recursive quadratic programming approach which extremizes a modified maximum likelihood function to update the parameters of the best performing filter in the bank. This particular approach to parameter adaptation allows a real-time implementation. The second algorithm uses a genetic algorithm to search for the parameter vector and is suited for post-processed data type applications. The workings and power of the overall filter bank and the suggested adaptation schemes are illustrated by a number of examples.  相似文献

Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) are the sixth most common cancers worldwide. More than half of patients with HNSCC eventually experience disease recurrence and/or metastasis, which can threaten their long-term survival. HNSCCs located in the oral cavity and larynx are usually associated with tobacco and/or alcohol use, whereas human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, particularly HPV16 infection, is increasingly recognized as a cause of oropharyngeal HNSCC. Despite clinical, histologic, and molecular differences between HPV-positive and HPV-negative HNSCCs, current treatment approaches are the same. For recurrent disease, these strategies include chemotherapy, immunotherapy with PD-1-inhibitors, or a monoclonal antibody, cetuximab, that targets epidermal growth factor; these therapies can be administered either as single agents or in combination. However, these treatment strategies carry a high risk of toxic side effects; therefore, more effective and less toxic treatments are needed. The landscape of HNSCC therapy is changing significantly; numerous clinical trials are underway to test novel therapeutic options like adaptive cellular therapy, antibody-drug conjugates, new targeted therapy agents, novel immunotherapy combinations, and therapeutic vaccines. This review helps in understanding the various developments in HNSCC therapy and sheds light on the path ahead in terms of further research in this field.  相似文献

Multilayers of CeO2/ZrO2 thin films were deposited on Si (100) substrates using pulsed laser deposition at an optimized oxygen partial pressure of 3×10−2 mbar and at room temperature. The CeO2 layer thickness was 10 nm, while the ZrO2 layer thickness was varied as 10, 20 and 30 nm. CeO2 and ZrO2 layers were deposited alternately to obtain 25 bilayers. High temperature x-ray diffraction (HTXRD) results showed that the multilayer films had cubic ceria and tetragonal ZrO2. Thermal expansion coefficients were calculated for CeO2 and t-ZrO2 and found to increase with the decrease of ZrO2 layer thickness. The cross sectional transmission electron microscopy (XTEM) of CeO2/ZrO2 multilayer also indicated that ceria was found to be in cubic phase while zirconia contained predominantly tetragonal phase along with cubic phase in thermally annealed specimen.  相似文献

By means of theory and experiments, the application capability of nickel ditelluride (NiTe2) transition‐metal dichalcogenide in catalysis and nanoelectronics is assessed. The Te surface termination forms a TeO2 skin in an oxygen environment. In ambient atmosphere, passivation is achieved in less than 30 min with the TeO2 skin having a thickness of about 7 Å. NiTe2 shows outstanding tolerance to CO exposure and stability in water environment, with subsequent good performance in both hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions. NiTe2‐based devices consistently demonstrate superb ambient stability over a timescale as long as one month. Specifically, NiTe2 has been implemented in a device that exhibits both superior performance and environmental stability at frequencies above 40 GHz, with possible applications as a receiver beyond the cutoff frequency of a nanotransistor.  相似文献

Soft, capacitive tactile (pressure) sensors are important for applications including human–machine interfaces, soft robots, and electronic skins. Such capacitors consist of two electrodes separated by a soft dielectric. Pressing the capacitor brings the electrodes closer together and thereby increases capacitance. Thus, sensitivity to a given force is maximized by using dielectric materials that are soft and have a high dielectric constant, yet such properties are often in conflict with each other. Here, a liquid metal elastomer foam (LMEF) is introduced that is extremely soft (elastic modulus 7.8 kPa), highly compressible (70% strain), and has a high permittivity. Compressing the LMEF displaces the air in the foam structure, increasing the permittivity over a large range (5.6–11.7). This is called “positive piezopermittivity.” Interestingly, it is discovered that the permittivity of such materials decreases (“negative piezopermittivity”) when compressed to large strain due to the geometric deformation of the liquid metal droplets. This mechanism is theoretically confirmed via electromagnetic theory, and finite element simulation. Using these materials, a soft tactile sensor with high sensitivity, high initial capacitance, and large capacitance change is demonstrated. In addition, a tactile sensor powered wirelessly (from 3 m away) with high power conversion efficiency (84%) is demonstrated.  相似文献

With the recent development of LTE‐A/5G technologies, data sharing among mobile devices offer an attractive opportunity to reduce Internet access. However, it requires smart strategies to share the data with low trade‐offs in time, cost, and energy. Several existing schemes offer a super‐peer‐based two‐tier model using a distributed hash table (DHT) organization for smart devices having device‐to‐device (D2D)/Bluetooth/WiFi capabilities. The primary focus of these schemes has been to reduce Internet usage by increased D2D content sharing. However, the real challenge is not in creating a two‐tier model, but evolving an efficient overlay that offers enhanced opportunities for D2D content sharing over the existing model. In this paper, we formulated a P‐median‐based selection of tier‐1 devices in a distribution network and solved it using the Lagrangian relaxation method. The tier‐2 devices become clients seeking content sharing services from tier‐1 devices. A strong motivation in this work is to raise a user's perception of the grade of service known as quality of experience (QoE). We analyzed the challenge for QoE assessment in resource‐constrained smartphones under the proposed model of enhanced D2D communication. Our focus is to establish a framework to evaluate QoE for applications and services over LTE‐A/5G networks with an improved D2D communication level. The simulation and the experimental results validate the claim that substantial improvements in QoE are possible with the proposed mathematical model for selecting and placing tier‐1 mobile devices and maintaining a DHT for D2D communication.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the development of multilevel hysteresis current regulation strategies. Two such strategies have been discussed and some modifications in their control tasks have been proposed to achieve more reliable and improved performance. In general, the multiband concept has been used while making the proposals. The hysteresis band size considerations have also been presented by taking into account the desired and existing system conditions. The proposed modulation schemes have been applied to a five-level flying-capacitor inverter, whose operation under hysteresis current control mode is much less established. A new method of flying-capacitor voltage balancing is proposed which ensures balanced flying-capacitor voltages and, at the same time, maintains the desired current profile. It uses a time-based approach for controlling the capacitor voltages and achieves appreciable voltage spectrum under wide range of load power factor conditions. The performance of the proposed strategies is confirmed through both simulation and experimental investigations.  相似文献

This paper describes an algorithm for finding the minimal cutsets between a specified source and terminal nodes of directed/undirected networks. Adjacent nodes of a source node/merged node are determined by the collection of node numbers of columns corresponding to non-zero elements of the first row of the adjacency matrix to form the reduced adjacency matrix (RAM) corresponding to merged nodes. Connectivity of RAM has been checked to obtain the minimal cutsets.  相似文献
