The tracer diffusion coefficients of the elements as well as the integrated interdiffusion coefficients are determined for the Cu3Sn and Cu6Sn5 intermetallic compounds using incremental diffusion couples and Kirkendall marker shift measurements. The activation energies are determined for the former between 498 K and 623 K (225 °C and 350 °C) and for the latter between 423 K and 473 K (150 °C and 200 °C). Sn is found to be a slightly faster diffuser in Cu6Sn5, and Cu is found to be the faster diffuser in Cu3Sn. The results from the incremental couples are used to predict the behavior of a Cu/Sn couple where simultaneous growth of both intermetallics occurs. The waviness at the Cu3Sn/Cu6Sn5 interface and possible reasons for not finding Kirkendall markers in both intermetallics in the Cu/Sn couple are discussed.  相似文献

Diffusion-couple experiments are conducted in the Fe-Pt system. The phase boundary compositions of the phases measured in this study are found to be different than the compositions published previously. In the γ-FePt solid solution, the interdiffusion coefficient increases with the Pt content up to 25 at. pct Pt. Fe is the faster diffusing species in this phase. The trend in the interdiffusion coefficient is explained with the help of calculated driving force for diffusion. To reduce errors, the average interdiffusion coefficients are calculated in the FePt and FePt3 compounds.  相似文献

Ultra-small-angle X-ray scattering (USAXS) is employed to quantify the average size, interparticle spacing, and volume fraction of the primary B2 precipitates in Fe-based superalloys with varying Al concentration. The results are analyzed with a model incorporating polydispersity and interference effects and verified by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) characterizations. As the Al amount increases from 4 to 10?mass pct, there is an approximately 40?pct decrease in the average interparticle spacing and?~30?pct reduction in the average particle diameter.  相似文献

In this contribution, a stability analysis for a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) connected to a weak ac system containing a dynamic load is presented using continuation techniques and bifurcation theory. The system dynamics are explored through the continuation of periodic solutions of the associated dynamic equations. The switching process in the DVR converter is taken into account to trace the stability regions through a suitable mathematical representation of the DVR converter. The stability regions in the Thevenin equivalent plane are computed. In addition, the stability regions in the control gains space, as well as the contour lines for different Floquet multipliers, are computed. Besides, the DVR converter model employed in this contribution avoids the necessity of developing very complicated iterative map approaches as in the conventional bifurcation analysis of converters. The continuation method and the DVR model can take into account dynamics and nonlinear loads and any network topology since the analysis is carried out directly from the state space equations. The bifurcation approach is shown to be both computationally efficient and robust, since it eliminates the need for numerically critical and long‐lasting transient simulations. Diversity of culturable bacterial populations within the Arsenic (As) contaminated groundwater of North Eastern state (Assam) of India is studied. From nine As contaminated samples 89 bacterial strains are isolated. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis reveals predominance of Brevundimonas (35%) and Acidovorax (23%) along with Acinetobacter (10%), Pseudomonas (9%) and relatively less abundant (<5%) Undibacterium, Herbaspirillum, Rhodococcus, Staphylococcus, Bosea, Bacillus, Ralstonia, Caulobacter and Rhizobiales members. High As(III) resistance (MTC 10–50 mM) is observed for the isolates obtained from As(III) enrichment, particularly for 3 isolates of genus Brevundimonas   (MTC 50 mM). In contrast, high resistance to As(V) (MTC as high as 550 mM) is present as a ubiquitous property, irrespective of isolates' enrichment condition. Bacterial genera affiliated to other groups showed relatively lower degree of As resistance [MTCs of 15–20 mM As(III) and 250–350 mM As(V)]. As(V) reductase activity is detected in strains with high As(V) as well as As(III) resistance. A strong correlation could be established among isolates capable of reductase activity and siderophore production as well as As(III) tolerance. A large number of isolates (nearly 50%) is capable of anaerobic respiration using alternate inorganic electron acceptors [As(V), Se(VI), Fe(III), 3NO2−NO32, 4SO2−SO42, S2O32−S2O32]. Ability to utilize different carbon sources ranging from C2–C6 compounds along with some complex sugars is also observed. Particularly, a number of strains is found to possess ability to grow chemolithotrophically using As(III) as the electron donor. The study reports for the first time the identity and metabolic abilities of bacteria in As contaminated ground water of North East India, useful to elucidate the microbial role in influencing mobilization of As in the region.  相似文献

The fate of [1-14C] linoleic acid and [1-14C] linolenic acid in the liver slices and also in the liver tissues of live carnivorous catfish,Heteropneustes fossilis andClarias batrachus, was studied. Incorporation of the fatty acids into different lipid classes in the live fish differed greatly from the tissue slices, indicating certain physiological control operative in vivo. The extent of desaturation and chain elongation of linoleic and linolenic acids into long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids was low. Linolenic acid was oxidized (thus labeling the saturated fatty acid with liberated14C-acetyl-CoA) in preference to linoleic acid, and this oxidation also seemed to be under physiological control since both of the fatty acids were poorly oxidized in the tissue slices and in the killed fish. These fish can therefore recognize the difference in the acyl chain structures of linoleate and linolenate. The higher oxidation of liolenic acid and poor capacity for its conversion to longer chain, highly unsaturated derivatives indicates a higher demand for the dietary supply of these essential fatty acids in these two species.  相似文献

Severe accident studies for very low frequency events for VVER-1000 (V320) are carried out to estimate in-vessel damage progression under steam-rich and starved conditions. The analyses with code ASTEC, jointly developed by IRSN (France) and GRS, Germany), have shown the influence of steam environment on core heat-up followed by material relocation, hydrogen production, vessel failure and aerosol generation along with release to containment. Hydro-accumulator injection for studied transients also gives rise to a steam-rich environment enhancing the material oxidation depending on the injection time and period. The generated information along with PSA-Level 2 is helpful to decide Plant Damage State (PDS) and fruitfully develop accident management strategies for the plant.  相似文献

The advantages of lowering the operation temperature of SOFCs have attracted great interest worldwide. One of the major barriers to decreasing the operation temperature is the ohmic loss of the electrolyte. Maximizing the electrolyte ionic conductivity is of significant importance, especially in the absence of new electrolyte materials. The ionic conductivity of electrolytes can be influenced by many parameters. There has been an enormous effort in the literature for the improvement of the electrolyte ionic conductivity. From a practical point of view, this paper reviews various approaches to enhancing the ionic conductivity of polycrystalline zirconia- and ceria-based oxide electrolytes in the light of composition, microstructure, and processing. Microbial fuel cells are capable of producing electricity through the treatment of wastewater, however, the low power density poses main hurdles towards their wide application. In present work, microbial fuel cell based on multiple anodes, acting as baffle is constructed for achieving higher performance which can be scaled up for real life application. It is investigated for continuous sixty two days using distillery wastewater (WW) in three batches under ambient condition. During first batch, the WW is maintained under stagnant condition inside the anode chamber where as in the rest of the two batches WW is recirculated in the chamber. A maximum power density 427 mW m−2, is achieved under stagnant condition which is further enhanced to 597 mW m−2 under recirculation mode. Recirculation of WW reduces the internal resistance arising from the mass transfer by 50%. Maximum COD removal and Coulombic efficiency obtained is 43% and 23%. Biofouling on the surface of the membrane facing anode chamber is observed.  相似文献
