An efficient method for the synthesis of 1-hydroxy-2-nitropyrene from 1-hydroxypyrene is presented. The synthesis utilizes a recently described nitrating agent for aromatic compounds, 4-nitro-ethyl-2,3,5,6-tetrabromo-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-one. Application of this procedure for synthesizing nitro-derivatives from hydroxyarene precursors of fluoranthene, phenanthrene and chrysene is discussed.  相似文献

The incorporation of hard particles into soft hydrogels can improve the mechanical properties and provide necessary bioactivity to the hydrogels for desired biomedical applications. Hydrogel composites containing hydroxyapatite (HA) are promising materials for orthopedic applications. In this study, injectable poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) hydrogel precursor solutions containing HA particles and model protein bovine serum albumin (BSA) were synthesized in situ by photopolymerization. In vitro BSA release properties from the hydrogel composites containing various amounts of HA were investigated and discussed. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy were employed to investigate the interaction between HA and the hydrogel network and the morphology of the hydrogel composites. It is found that PEG hydrogel composites containing HA sustained the release of BSA for at least 5 days and the presence of HA slowed down BSA release. Photopolymerized hydrogel composites containing HA may find potential use as a drug delivery matrix for orthopedic tissue engineering. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. The aim of this study was to determine if changes in omega‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acid status following tuna oil supplementation correlated with changes in scores of depression. A total of 95 volunteers receiving treatment for major depression were randomised to consume 8 × 1 g capsules per day of HiDHA (2 g DHA, 0.6 g EPA and 10 mg Vitamin E) or olive oil (placebo) for 16 weeks, whilst undergoing weekly counseling sessions by trained clinical psychologists using a standard empirically validated psychotherapy. Depression status was assessed using the 17 item Hamilton rating scale for depression and the Beck Depression Inventory by a psychodiagnostician who was blind to the treatment. Blood was taken at baseline and 16 weeks (n = 48) for measurement of erythrocyte fatty acids. With HiDHA supplementation, erythrocyte DHA content rose from 4.1 ± 0.2 to 7.9 ± 0.4 % (mean ± SEM, p < 0.001) of total fatty acids but did not change (4.0 ± 0.2 to 4.1 ± 0.2 %) in the olive oil group. The mean changes in scores of depression did not differ significantly between the two groups (?12.2 ± 2.1 for tuna oil and ?14.4 ± 2.3 for olive oil). However, analysis of covariance showed that in the fish oil group there was a significant correlation (r = ?0.51) between the change in erythrocyte DHA and the change in scores of depression (p < 0.05). Further study of the relationship between DHA and depression is warranted.  相似文献

Secondary analysis of the 2007 Australian National Children’s Nutrition and Physical Activity survey was undertaken to assess the intake and food sources of EPA, DPA and DHA (excluding supplements) in 4,487 children aged 2–16 years. An average of two 24-h dietary recalls was analysed for each child and food sources of EPA, DPA and DHA were assessed using the Australian nutrient composition database called AUSNUT 2007. Median (inter quartile range, IQR) for EPA, DPA and DHA intakes (mg/day) for 2–3, 4–8, 9–13, 14–16 year were: EPA 5.3 (1.5–14), 6.7 (1.8–18), 8.7 (2.6–23), 9.8 (2.7–28) respectively; DPA 6.2 (2.2–14), 8.2 (3.3–18), 10.8 (4.3–24), 12.2 (5–29) respectively; and DHA 3.9 (0.6–24), 5.1 (0.9–26), 6.8 (1.1–27), 7.8 (1.5–33) respectively. Energy-adjusted intakes of EPA, DPA and DHA in children who ate fish were 7.5, 2 and 16-fold higher, respectively (P < 0.001) compared to those who did not eat fish during the 2 days of the survey. Intake of total long chain n-3 PUFA was compared to the energy adjusted suggested dietary target (SDT) for Australian children and 20 % of children who ate fish during the 2 days of the survey met the SDT. Fish and seafood products were the largest contributors to DHA (76 %) and EPA (59 %) intake, while meat, poultry and game contributed to 56 % DPA. Meat consumption was 8.5 times greater than that for fish/seafood. Australian children do not consume the recommended amounts of long chain omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA, which could be explained by low fish consumption.  相似文献

The CO/tert‐butylstyrene/ethylene terpolymerization catalyzed by Pd‐(N‐N′) complexes was studied. The results evidence that the olefin preferentially inserted in the terpolymer chain is strictly related to the nature of the nitrogen ligand, mainly to its steric constraints, and not to the kind of ligand. Indeed, slight variations in the backbone of the nitrogen ligands coordinated to palladium allow for the synthesis of terpolymers with a controlled composition.  相似文献

In this work platelet lysate (PL) and adipose‐derived mesenchymal stromal cells (ASCs) seeded on nonwoven fibroin mats were in vitro and in vivo evaluated for tissue regenerative applications. Nonwoven mats obtained by a large scale water entanglement technique were characterized for their physico‐chemical properties. Results indicated a high purity of fibroin fibers, their stability after sterilization process and appropriate technological properties suitable for tissue engineering. Moreover, the scaffolds in vitro supported adhesion and migration of ASCs and the presence of PL improved the cell proliferation. The products were then applied on epithelial/dermal wounds carried out on the dorsal surface of rabbit: the skin reparative process was solved in 9 days, with a completely restitutio ad integrum of the epithelium in animals treated with PL alone; ASCs did not further improve the wound healing. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In order to determine the influence of the inorganic support on the asymmetric induction, different chiral chromium(III)-salen complexes have been incorporated within the cavities of zeolites Y, EMT and into the interlamellar region of K-10 montmorillonite. These heterogeneous catalysts are able to promote the asymmetric ring opening of epoxides with trimethylsilylazide to afford chiral azido trimethylsilyl ethers and azido alcohols with modest enantiomeric excess that varies depending on the inorganic support. The factors that have been found to play a negative influence diminishing the enantioselectivity of the supported Cr(III)-salen catalyst compared to the unsupported complexes are the following: (i) the presence of adventitious acid sites, (ii) the encapsulation of no sufficiently stereogenic ligands and (iii) the change in the reaction mechanism from bimetallic to a single metal reaction mechanism. Protein Expression Changes in Maize Roots in Response to Humic Substances   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Humic substances are known to affect plant metabolism at different levels. We characterized humic substances extracted from earthworm feces by diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform (DRIFT) spectroscopy and used them to treat corn, Zea mays L., seedlings to investigate changes in patterns of root protein expression. After root plasma membrane extraction and purification, proteins were separated by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, and differential spot intensities were evaluated by image analysis. Finally, 42 differentially expressed proteins were identified by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The majority of them were downregulated by the treatment with humic substances. The proteins identified included malate dehydrogenase, ATPases, cytoskeleton proteins, and different enzymes belonging to the glycolytic/gluconeogenic pathways and sucrose metabolism. The identification of factors involved in plant responses to humic substances may improve our understanding of plant-soil cross-talk, and enable a better management of soil resources.  相似文献

Synthesis of highly crosslinked methacrylate copolymers of in form of microspheres is presented. They are prepared from tetrafunctional methacrylate derivative of bis(4‐hydroxyphenyl)sulfide, bis[4‐(2‐hydroxy‐3‐methacryloyloxypropoxy)phenyl]sulfide (BES‐DM), and divinylbenzene (DVB). In chemical structure of these copolymers exhibit hydroxyl and ester groups of hydrophilic nature. Additionally, copolymer contains sulfur atoms coming from BES‐DM monomer. Porous structure of the copolymers in the dry and wet state was studied. Microspheres possessing the largest pore volume and specific surface area were subjected to chromatographic investigations. The results show that polar functional groups existing in the chemical structure of the studied microspheres have influence on reversed‐phase HPLC retention mechanism. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Switching Knowles DiPAMP’s {DiPAMP=1,2‐bis[(o‐anisyl)(phenyl)phosphino]‐ ethane} MeO groups with i‐PrO ones led to the i‐Pr‐SMS‐Phos {i‐Pr‐SMS‐Phos=1,2‐bis[(o‐isoprop‐ oxyphenyl)(phenyl)phosphino]ethane} ligand which displayed a boosted catalyst activity coupled with an enhanced enantioselectivity in the rhodium(I)‐catalyzed hydrogenation of a wide‐range of representative olefinic substrates (dehydro‐α‐amido acids, itaconates, acrylates, enamides, enol acetates, α,α‐diarylethylenes, etc). The rhodium(I)‐(i‐Pr‐SMS‐Phos) catalytic profile was investigated revealing its structural attributes and robustness, and in contrast to the usual trend, 31P NMR analysis revealed that its methyl (Z)‐α‐acetamidocinnamate (MAC) adduct consisted of a reversed diastereomeric ratio of 1.4:1 in favour of the most reactive diastereomer.  相似文献
