Variation in azeotropic parameters in the series of binary systems consisting of homologs of phenol and aniline

Data of practical importance regarding polyazeotropic mixtures are obtained. They permit the determination of the rate at which the composition changes over the azeotropic series and the rate at which the composition of an individual azeotrope shifts with variation in boiling point (pressure) when using rectification.     

Influence of yttrium oxide on the phase formation and sintering of ceramics based on the MgAl2O4 spinel

The influence of dopants of yttrium oxide on the preparation and sintering of the spinel matrix is investigated, and the sequence of the formation of phases in the course of the synthesis of the ceramic material based on magnesium, aluminum, and yttrium oxides is analyzed.     

Measurement of the radius and slip velocity of a rolling wheel by a laser Doppler anemometer

The use of laser Doppler anemometry methods for determining the radius and slip velocity of rolling wheels is justified theoretically and experimentally. It is demonstrated that these methods allow the wheel radius to be measured with a relative error of 0.05–0.02% for the wheel turning angle of 0.6–4.0°. The slip velocity can be calculated in this case with an error of 20%. The slip velocity of a railroad wheel moving with a velocity of 60 mm/s is found.     

Comprehensive method of investigating polyeutectic systems

The technological constraints on the deposition of the main components from the first anthracene fraction by solidification are analyzed by a comprehensive method of investigating polyeutectic systems. The constraints on solidification for the extraction of the main components in the fraction are identified.     

Some approaches to collecting electric voltage generated by SHS reactions

We suggest two approaches to collecting the electromotive force (E _c) generated by SHS reactions such as the use of mechanical systems with a movable voltage-collecting electrode and the so-called battery assembly. The use of the battery system comprising of two reactive systems generating voltage of opposite polarity afforded to increase E _c up to 2.3 V.
