Present research work was carried out to clarify the variations among species of genus Paspalum morphologically and palynologically as this genus is taxonomically difficult due to having multiple similar morphologically overlapping characters which make it difficult to identify. Henceforth present research work was carried out to delimit taxa within the same genus by morphological and palynological tools through light microscopy (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Both these tools are considered as the most useful taxonomic characters for taxonomically problematic genera. The results showed a lot of variations among morphological characters. In Paspalum dilatatum, the upper glume was ovate whereas in the other two species, the upper glume was elliptic. The upper glume apex found in P. dilatatum and Paspalum scrobiculatum was obtuse whereas in Paspalum distichum, upper glume apex was acute. Glume nerves showed variation in all three species. Paspalum distichum was 3 nerved, P. scrobiculatum was 5–7 nerved, and P. dilatatum was 5–9 nerved. All three species showed variation in lemma nerves. Paspalum scrobiculatum had 3 nerved lemma whereas in P. distichum 3–5 nerved and P. dilatatum 5–9 nerved lemma were present. In polar and equatorial view, pollen grains ranged from 25 (20–30) to 37.5 (30–45) μm. Paspalum distichum appeared to be the smallest in size whereas P. dilatatum was the largest. Exine thickness ranged from 0.75 (0.5–1) to 1.35 (1.2–1.5) μm. The higher value of pollen fertility was found in P. scrobiculatum as 87.69% and the lowest value was in P. distichum as 78.08%. The accurate prediction of all aspects of cooling tower behavior is very important. Accurately predicting evaporation losses is significant because water in cooling towers is cooled primarily through the evaporation of a portion of the circulating water, which causes the concentration of dissolved solids and other impurities to increase. An empirical relation is developed on the basis of ASHRAE's rule of thumb that is simple and accurate with a wide range of applicability. Fouling in plate‐and‐frame heat exchangers (PHEs) may be defined as the deposition of unwanted material on the heat transfer surface that reduces heat‐transfer and increases the resistance to fluid flow. Once the thermal–hydraulic performance decreases to a minimum acceptable level, cleaning of the equipment has to be done to restore the performance. The decision regarding periodic off‐line maintenance of the heat exchangers is generally based on a thermal–economic performance of the process. In this paper, we discuss a probabilistic maintenance model for PHE by incorporating the risk level and scatter parameter of the four random fouling growth models, namely linear, power law, falling rate and asymptotic models, which are integrated in the dimensionless cost model for a heat exchanger used in a steel plant. All the results are presented in terms of non‐dimensional plots. The results show that there is a strong relationship between tdown and the uptime, particularly in the region where the costs of operation and maintenance are minimum. Over the last few years, vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) have gained popularity for their interesting applications. To make efficient routing decisions, VANET routing protocols require road traffic density information for which they use density estimation schemes. This paper presents a distributed mechanism for road vehicular density estimation that considers multiple road factors, such as road length and junctions. Extensive simulations are carried out to analyze the effectiveness of the proposed technique. Simulation results suggested that, the proposed technique is more accurate compared to the existing technique. Fouling of evaporative cooler and condenser tubes is one of the most important factors affecting their thermal performance, which reduces effectiveness and heat transfer capability with time. In this paper, the experimental data on fouling reported in the literature are used to develop a fouling model for this class of heat exchangers. The model predicts the decrease in heat transfer rate with the growth of fouling. A detailed model of evaporative coolers and condensers, in conjunction with the fouling model, is used to study the effect of fouling on the thermal performance of these heat exchangers at different air inlet wet bulb temperatures. The results demonstrate that fouling of tubes reduces gains in performance resulting from decreasing values of air inlet wet bulb temperature. It is found that the maximum decrease in effectiveness due to fouling is about 55 and 78% for the evaporative coolers and condensers, respectively, investigated in this study. For the evaporative cooler, the value of process fluid outlet temperature Tp,out varies by 0.66% only at the clean condition for the ambient wet bulb temperatures considered. Effects of UV stabilised polyethylene (UV+PE), IR absorbers polyethylene (IR+PE), double layers of polyethylene (D-Poly) and single layer of polyethylene (PE), as greenhouse covers, on aubergine growth, productivity and energy requirement were investigated in a late autumn season (2001). The late and final yields of plants grown in D-Poly houses were higher than those grown in UV+PE, IR+PE and PE. Light transmission was the highest in PE, intermediate in UV+PE and IR+PE, and the lowest in D-Poly houses. Relative humidity was the highest in D-Poly, intermediate in IR+PE and UV+PE, and the lowest in PE houses. The plants in D-Poly houses grew and developed faster (more leaves and flowers) than those in IR+PE, UV+PE and PE houses. Plant growth and development in UV+PE and IR+PE houses was similar. Economic analyses showed that aubergine production was economically viable in D-Poly, UV+PE and IR+PE houses. For aubergine production in climatic conditions similar to Black Sea Region, the D-Poly greenhouse is strongly recommended, because there was a higher productivity and a lower heating requirement in comparison to UV+PE, IR+PE and PE houses. 相似文献

A state-space oriented approach to analyze dynamic errors in a hybrid computer simulation loop is presented. The approach helps to predict the value of the sampling interval that achieves stable simulation with a prescribed accuracy. A pre-perturbation technique to compensate for the serious digital execution time delay error is then developed. It has the advantages that it does not require additional computer hardware and/or software and its utilization does not result in generation of any extraneous modes.The approach points out the contribution of each individual error source in the hybrid computer loop to the overall simulation accuracy. 相似文献
