The psychopathology and associated disabilities experienced by persons with schizophrenia have only partially responded to conventional pharmacological and psychosocial treatment approaches. Biobehavioral treatment and rehabilitation employs behavioral assessment, social learning principles, skills training, and a focus on the recovery process to amplify the effects of pharmacotherapy. Utilizing the Medline database, we review a selection of English-language studies published from 1970 to 1994 that support the effectiveness of each of the components of biobehavioral therapy, such as case management, psychopharmacology with behavioral assessment, psychoeducation, family involvement, and social skills training. An integrated biobehavioral therapy directed toward early detection and treatment of schizophrenic symptoms, collaboration between consumers and caregivers in managing treatment, family and social skills training, and teaching coping skills and self-help techniques has been documented to improve the course and outcome of schizophrenia, as measured by symptom recurrence, social functioning, and quality of life. A case vignette is presented to illustrate the successful integration of biobehavioral therapies into a treatment system that focuses on consumers' attempts to become increasingly responsible for recovering from illness.  相似文献

The effect of protracted stress upon the DNA synthesis of the esophageal mucosa of the rat was investigated at various time intervals ranging from one to 56 days. A total of 80 Sprague-Dawley rats were investigated. Lots of 25 rats each were either shock-plunged, subjected to swimming in large basins for two hours or were only transported to the swimming laboratory and used as controls. The remaining 5 rats were non-transported (resting) controls. At the end of the above described procedures, all 80 rats received an intraperitoneal injection of 1 microCi3H-thymidine/gr bodyweight. one hour later the rats were killed. Half of the esophagus was processed for DNA extraction and the other half for autoradiography. When compared to day 0 (resting control rats), the DNA values in experimental animals had increased significantly at day 1, decreased significantly at day 7 in swimming rats and risen once again in both experimental groups at day 14 and more notably at day 28. By 56 days, the values had reached those of day 0. When compared to transported controls at each time interval, both experimental groups had significantly higher DNA values at day 1, significantly lower at day 7 and once again, significantly higher at day 28. Autoradiographic studies of plunged rats showed similar fluctuations in the percentage of labelled basal-parabasal cells in the esophageal mucosa at the various time intervals. The results of this work are similar to those reported previously for the gastric mucosa, the duodenal mucosa and the colonic mucosa of rats subjected to the same stressors.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The electrochemical behaviour, FTIR spectrum and the morphology of polypyrrole-polystyrenesulphonate (PPy-PSS) films obtained potentiostatically at 0.6 V in a 0.05m Py + 1.7 × 10?2m NaPSS medium have been analysed. Different electrochemical parameters have been modified in order to establish the first polaron formation, the reversibility of the redox process and the doping mechanism. The FTIR spectrum confirms the existence of C?O groups in the film structure and two possible explanations are suggested. SEM reveals a higher homogeneity in these films than in PPy films doped with smaller counterions.  相似文献

Background subtraction consists of segmenting objects in movement in a video captured by a static camera. This is typically performed using color information, but it leads to wrong estimations due to perspective and illumination issues. We show that multimodal approaches based on the integrated use of color and depth cues produce more accurate and robust results than using either data source independently. Depth is less affected by issues such as shadows or foreground objects similar to background. However, objects close to the background may not be detected when using only range information, being color information complementary in those cases. We propose an extension of a well-known background subtraction technique which fuses range and color information, as well as a post-processing mask fusion stage to get the best of each feature. We have evaluated the method proposed using a well-defined dataset and different disparity estimation algorithms, showing the benefits of our method for fusion color and depth cues.  相似文献

This article describes an undergoing research at PT Freeport,Indonesia,in which the main goal is to use the microseismic information recorded as a result of mining to analyze cave propagation and stress performance on the actual production and fixed in-frastructure.At the moment,several numerical experiments have been conducted to correlate the mining activity with the microseis-mic events using the data collected during year 2005 and 2006.As a result of the preliminary analysis a micro-and a macrocracking envelop were proposed on the basis of computation of stress behavior at the location of the events.Stresses have been computed us-ing standard elastic continuous boundary element models.The correlation between the average source radius and the stress perform-ance has provided a method to propose a macrocracking criterion.Several techniques have been tested to nucleate the microseismic activity around different geological features.This last attempt was aimed to look at potential overstresses induced over the undercut and extraction level drifts.A method was devised to integrate the microseismicity into a 3-dimensional ride distribution model.This model has shown to be very effective to quantify the overstress induced as a result of computing volumetric microseismieity density.The volumetric microseismic model showed to induce overstress up to 10 MPa over a period of two months.The future work will concentrate on the calibration of the integrated model with actual damage observations made at the current mining infrastructure.  相似文献

The search for more compatibility between ionic liquids (ILs) and polymer matrices in proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is one of the ways in which IL leaking from proton-exchange membranes could be minimized. In this work, it is presented the synthesis of an aromatic high temperature ionic liquid (HTIL), which, incorporated into an aromatic matrix such as sulfonated polyether ether ketone (sPEEK), is expected to diminish the IL leaking that normally affects PEMFC. Phenylethylammonium trifluoromethane sulfonate (PhetaTfO) was successfully synthesized and characterized. Its melting point of 88°C makes it to classify as a HTIL and it was employed as modifier of natural Montmorillonite, forming the phenylethylammonium intercalated montmorillonite (MmtPheta) and thus, ternary membranes containing PhetaTfO, MmtPheta, and sPEEK were prepared and characterized. Immersion tests demonstrated a higher compatibility of PhetaTfO with matrix when compared to the reference DemaTfO, which was reflected in up to 30% lower IL loss by the synthesized IL than the DemaTfO; X-rays diffraction (XRD) patterns demonstrated that the modified clay was properly dispersed inside the membranes, while dynamic mechanical analyses (DMA) results indicated a strong plasticizer effect along the increase of PhetaTfO content inside the membrane, while at the same time, the conductivity increased in an exponential manner, which permitted to identify an empiric exponential equation to evaluate the effect of concentration on ionic conductivity. The maximum conductivity obtained at IL concentrations of around 38 wt% was 0.2 mS/cm. It could expect high ionic conductivities of 10 mS/cm when the concentration of this IL is 60%; nevertheless, in order to achieve that, crosslinking treatments should be done to give the membranes enough mechanical resistance.  相似文献

A solution to the stabilization problem of a compact set by means of the Interconnection and Damping Assignment Passivity‐Based Control methodology, for an affine nonlinear system, was introduced. To this end, we expressed the closed‐loop system as a Port Hamiltonian system, having the property of almost all their trajectories asymptotically converge to a convenient limit set, except for a set of measure zero. It was carried out by solving a partial differential equation (PDE) or single matching condition, which allows the desired energy level or limit set E to be shaped explicitly. The control strategy was tested using the magnetic beam balance system and the pendulum actuated by a direct current motor (DC‐motor), having obtained satisfactory results. Granular computing is a computational paradigm that mimics human cognition in terms of grouping similar information together. Compatibility operators such as cardinality, orientation, density, and multidimensional length act on both in raw data and information granules which are formed from raw data providing a framework for human-like information processing where information granulation is intrinsic. Granular computing, as a computational concept, is not new, however it is only relatively recent when this concept has been formalised computationally via the use of Computational Intelligence methods such as Fuzzy Logic and Rough Sets. Neutrosophy is a unifying field in logics that extents the concept of fuzzy sets into a three-valued logic that uses an indeterminacy value, and it is the basis of neutrosophic logic, neutrosophic probability, neutrosophic statistics and interval valued neutrosophic theory. In this paper we present a new framework for creating Granular Computing Neural-Fuzzy modelling structures via the use of Neutrosophic Logic to address the issue of uncertainty during the data granulation process. The theoretical and computational aspects of the approach are presented and discussed in this paper, as well as a case study using real industrial data. The case study under investigation is the predictive modelling of the Charpy Toughness of heat-treated steel; a process that exhibits very high uncertainty in the measurements due to the thermomechanical complexity of the Charpy test itself. The results show that the proposed approach leads to more meaningful and simpler granular models, with a better generalisation performance as compared to other recent modelling attempts on the same data set.  相似文献

We present a complete mechanized proof of the result in homological algebra known as basic perturbation lemma. The proof has been carried out in the proof assistant Isabelle, more concretely, in the implementation of higher-order logic (HOL) available in the system. We report on the difficulties found when dealing with abstract algebra in HOL, and also on the ongoing stages of our project to give a certified version of some of the algorithms present in the Kenzo symbolic computation system.
