It is the purpose of the paper to promote the ion beam sputtering technique and its biomedical applications among not only ion beam users but also other research workers, and especially, among biologists and medical doctors. The objectives of this article are threefold. Firstly, it supplies a conceptual background for discussing the main question of this work, i.e. biomedical applications of sputtering. Secondly, the title issue and some related problems, important in the biomedical use, are widely presented and discussed. Finally, clinical implication and potential applications are shown.  相似文献

Following our previous papers on mechanism of cyclic esters' polymerization coinitiated by tin(II) octoate [tin(II) bis-(2-ethylhexanoate), (Sn(Oct)2)] in the presence of either the low molar mass coinitiator (an alcohol, hydroxy acid, or H2O) or a macromolecule fitted with a hydroxy end group (ROH), the present work deals with ?-caprolactone (CL) and l,l-lactide (LA) polymerizations coinitiated with zinc octoate (Zn(Oct)2) or aluminum acetylacetonate (Al(Acac)3). A series of kinetic measurements revealed that similarly as in the Sn(Oct)2 coinitiated process, these polymerizations proceed by simple monomer insertion into the …Mt-OR bond, reversibly formed in the reaction -Mt-L + ROH ? …-Mt-OR + LH (where Mt = Sn, Zn or Al; L = Oct or Acac), taking place throughout the whole polymerization process. MtLn itself does not play an active role in the polymerization. Applicability of the commercially available Zn(Oct)2 or Al(Acac)3 for the aliphatic polyester (103 ≤ Mn ≤ 4 × 105) synthesis is also discussed.  相似文献

The assumption of homogeneous isotropic turbulence when modeling drop breakage in industrially relevant geometries is questionable. We describe the development of an anisotropic breakage model, where the anisotropy is introduced via the inclusion of a perturbed turbulence spectrum. The selection of the perturbed spectrum is itself motivated by our previous large-eddy simulations of high-pressure homogenizers. The model redistributes energy from small to large scales, and assumes that the anisotropic part of the Reynolds stresses is confined to the energy-containing range. The second-order structure function arising from the perturbed spectrum is used in the standard framework of Coulaloglou and Tavlarides to calculate breakage frequency. While the base model exhibits non-monotonic behavior (by predicting a maximum value for a certain drop size), the effect of anisotropy is shown to increase breakage frequency in length scales larger than this peak, thereby reducing non-monotonicity. This effect is more pronounced for small turbulence Reynolds numbers.  相似文献

Ion bombardment modification of surface geometrical structure, i.e. surface roughness alteration (Part 1) and changes in surface shape (this paper) are considered. Two surface shape alteration methods, masked and maskless pattern etching, are described. They have been applied to modify various kinds of targets, including metals (99.9% aluminium and 99.9% titanium), metal alloys (stainless steel of 1H18N9T and SS 316 LC), alumina ceramic (96% Al2O3) and Teflon. The results of experiments, where narrow beam glow discharge (GD) and broad beam Kaufman type guns have been used as ion sources, are presented. Approximation of a real surface shape profile by a so-called mean line, which is very helpful in the case of ion patterned but extremely rough surfaces, is also discussed. Finally, the practical aspects of ion bombardment modification of surface shape phenomenon, i.e. its application to sputtering yield and sputtering velocity measurements, are shown.  相似文献

In this paper we explore the thesis that the role of argumentation in practical reasoning in general and legal reasoning in particular is to justify the use of defeasible rules to derive a conclusion in preference to the use of other defeasible rules to derive a conflicting conclusion. The defeasibility of rules is expressed by means of non-provability claims as additional conditions of the rules.We outline an abstract approach to defeasible reasoning and argumentation which includes many existing formalisms, including default logic, extended logic programming, non-monotonic modal logic and auto-epistemic logic, as special cases. We show, in particular, that the admissibility semantics for all these formalisms has a natural argumentation-theoretic interpretation and proof procedure, which seem to correspond well with informal argumentation.In the admissibility semantics there is only one way for one argument to attack another, namely by undermining one of its non-provability claims. In this paper, we show how other kinds of attack between arguments, specifically how rebuttal and priority attacks, can be reduced to the undermining of non-provability claims.  相似文献
