This paper starts a sequence of three articles that follow an unconventional approach in finite element research. The ultimate objective is to construct high-performance elements and element-level error estimators for those elements. The approach takes off from our previous work in high-performance elements and culminates with the development of finite element templates. The present paper concentrates on the patch test and evolved versions of the test that have played a key role in this research. Following a brief review of the historical roots, we present the Individual Element Test (IET) of Bergan and Hanssen in an expanded context that encompasses several important classes of new elements. The relationship of the IET to the multielement forms A, B and C of the patch test and to the single-element test are investigated. An important consequence of the IET application is that the element stiffness equations decompose naturally into basic and higher-order parts. The application of this decomposition to the “sanitization” of the non-convergent BCIZ element is described and verified with numerical experiments. Two sequel papers in preparation are subtitled ‘the algebraic approach’ and ‘element-level error estimation’. These apply the fundamental decomposition to the derivation of templates for specific mechanical elements and to the construction of element-level error estimators, respectively.  相似文献

Proper integration of scheduling and control in Flexible Manufacturing Systems will make available the required level of decision-making capacity to provide a flexibly-automated, efficient, and quality manufacturing process. To achieve this level of integration, the developments in computer technology and sophisticated techniques of artificial intelligence (AI) should be applied to such FMS functions as scheduling. In this paper, we present an Intelligent Scheduling System for FMS under development that makes use of the integration of two AI technologies. These two AI technologies — Neural Networks and Expert Systems — provide the intelligence that the scheduling function requires in order to generate goodschedules within the restrictions imposed by real-time problems. Because the system has the ability to plan ahead and learn, it has a higher probability of success than conventional approaches. The adaptive behavior that will be achieved contribute to the integration of scheduling and control in FMS.  相似文献

This study, guided in part by G. A. Marlatt and J. R. Gordon's (1985) abstinence violation effect (AVE) model, examined whether variability in cognitive and emotional reactions to binges accounts for recurrence of binge eating. Attributional, cognitive, and affective reactions to 2 successive binges, as well as the latencies between each binge and a subsequent binge, were evaluated through a series of structured phone interviews with 50 nonpurging normal-weight female bingers. Reported mood after binging was unrelated to binge latency. However, when Ss made more intense internal, global, and uncontrollable causal attributions for a binge, a subsequent binge followed significantly sooner. Within-subject variations in AVEs across binges prospectively predicted within-subject variations in the speed with which another binge followed. Analyses suggested that cognitive states (e.g., AVE and guilt) evoked by particular events were better predictors of how quickly binging repeats than were stable differences in attributional style. Rat brain cortex slices and synaptosomes preincubated with [3H]noradrenaline were used to investigate whether the NMDA-evoked noradrenaline release is modulated by agonists or antagonists at presynaptic alpha 2-adrenoceptors. In experiments on slices, noradrenaline and the preferential alpha-adrenoceptor agonists talipexole (former B-HT 920) and clonidine inhibited the NMDA-evoked tritium overflow whereas the selective alpha 1-adrenoceptor agonists cirazoline and methoxamine were ineffective. The alpha 2-adrenoceptor antagonists rauwolscine and idazoxan facilitated the NMDA-evoked tritium overflow whereas the preferential alpha 1-adrenoceptor antagonist prazosin was ineffective. The concentration-response curve of talipexole for its inhibitory effect on NMDA-evoked overflow was shifted to the right by idazoxan (apparent pA2 = 7.5). The EC50 of NMDA (97 mumol/l) for its stimulating effect on tritium overflow was not substantially changed by blockade of alpha 2-autoreceptors with 1 mumol/l rauwolscine (EC50 of NMDA in the presence of the alpha 2-adrenoceptor antagonist, 155 mumol/l), but the maximal overflow of tritium was increased 2.5 fold by this rauwolscine concentration. In experiments on synaptosomes, talipexole and noradrenaline inhibited the NMDA-evoked tritium overflow. The inhibitory effect of talipexole was abolished by idazoxan which, given alone, was ineffective, as was prazosin. Talipexole did also not produce an inhibition when tritium overflow was evoked by NMDA in the presence of omega-conotoxin GVIA 0.1 mumol/l; the latter, by itself, decreased the response to NMDA by about 55%.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

An electrochemical study of the electroreduction in anhydrous acetonitrile of 7α,12,20-O-trimethyl-conacytone, an abietane quinoid diterpene derivative from the natural product 7α-O-methyl-conacytone, showed two reduction signals. At the first reduction step, fast chemical reactions involving the loss of the methoxyl group located at C-7 with simultaneous regeneration of the quinoid moiety were observed. This electrogenerated quinone is reduced again, at the same potential used with the former quinone, resulting in a two-electron peak. These results were obtained by cyclic voltammetry and double-step chronoamperometry experiments. The electrolysis under methylating conditions of 7α-O-methyl-conacytone, at potential values of the second electron transfer, generates as major products, methoxy-hydroquinone, where the methoxy group at C-7 is lost, which is in agreement with the proposed mechanism. Therefore, the second reduction signal was attributed to the reduction of semiquinone intermediates by a mechanism not elucidated.  相似文献

The Steady radial distribution of chemical species in a wire‐to‐cylinder ozone generator filled with pure oxygen has been computed by applying four different plasma chemistry models of increasing complexity. The most complete model considers ten species (e, O2 +, O2 ?, O3 ?, O?, O2, O2(1Δg), O2(1g +), O and O3) and 79 reactions, including ionization by electron impact, electron attachment and detachment, electron-ion recombination, charge transfer, etc. The chemical model is coupled with the electrical model through Poisson's equation. The spatially averaged ozone density has been computed as a function of the current intensity and compared with the experimental values obtained by UV spectroscopy.  相似文献
