In this study, in order to eliminate the drawbacks of elution step and to reach higher enrichment factors, a novel preconcentration/separation technique for the slurry analysis of sorbent loaded with lead prior to its determination by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry was described. For this purpose, at first, lead was collected on ethylene glycol dimethacrylate methacrylic acid copolymer (EGDMA-MA) treated with ammonium pyrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) by conventional batch technique. After separation of liquid phase, slurry of the sorbent was prepared and directly pipetted into graphite furnace of atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Optimum conditions for quantitative sorption and preparation of the slurry were investigated. A 100-fold enrichment factor could be easily reached.
The analyte element in certified sea-water and Bovine-liver samples was determined in the range of 95% confidence level. The proposed technique was fast and simple and the risks of contamination and analyte loss were low. Detection limit (3δ) for Pb was 1.67 μg l−1. 相似文献

We introduce a method that exploits the “active” nature of the force-sensing integrated readout and active tip (FIRAT), a recently introduced atomic force microscopy (AFM) probe, to control the interaction forces during individual tapping events in tapping mode (TM) AFM. In this method the probe tip is actively retracted if the tip–sample interaction force exceeds a user-specified force threshold during a single tap while the tip is still in contact with the surface. The active tip control (ATC) circuitry designed for this method makes it possible to control the repulsive forces and indentation into soft samples, limiting the repulsive forces during the scan while avoiding instability due to attractive forces. An algorithm for a parallelized coupled model based on finite element method (FEM), boundary element method (BEM), and scaled boundary FEM (SBFEM) for harmonic and transient dynamic response of large-scale 2D structures embedded in or on layered soil media is presented. The BEM and SBFEM are used for modelling the dynamic response of the unbounded media. The standard FEM is used for modelling the finite region and the embedded structure. The objective of the development of this parallelized coupled model is to use the power of high performance computing, and to take into account the advantages and evade the disadvantages of the above mentioned numerical methods for modelling of the unbounded media in soil-structure interaction (SSI) systems. The development of the parallel algorithm for this model is essential for solving arbitrarily shaped large-scale SSI problems, which cannot be solved within reasonable elapsed times by a serial algorithm. The efficiency of the proposed parallel algorithm and the validity of the coupled model are shown by means of three numerical examples, indicating the excellent accuracy and applicability of the parallel algorithm with considerable time-savings in large-scale problems. 相似文献

This experimental study focused on improving performance characteristics of a low-heat rejection (LHR) diesel engine operating with biodiesel fuel. To ensure LHR conditions, the cylinder head and valves of the test engine were coated with a Y2O3-ZrO2 (yttria-stabilized zirconia) layer of 0.35?mm thickness over a NiCrAl bond coat of 0.15?mm thickness. The fuel used in the engine tests was produced from sunflower oil with transesterification methods. The engine test results showed that brake-specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and brake thermal efficiency were improved with biodiesel usage and thermal barrier coating (TBC) application. The effect of variation of supercritical water properties with temperature and pressure on the mixing characteristics of streams having different temperatures in a T shaped channel is investigated numerically by considering steady, low Reynolds number flows with the assumption of negligible bouyancy effects. The Reynolds number of the cold stream in the range 0.1 to 100, inlet temperature of hot stream varying from 300 K to 800 K, the ratio of mass flow rate of cold stream to total mass flow rate in the range of 0.1 to 0.90 and the operating pressures from 25 MPa to 45 MPa at a cold fluid inlet temperature of 293.15 K are considered as parameters controlling the mixing of hot and cold streams. The effect of property variations on the outcome of the mixing is more important for low Reynolds numbers and hot fluid inlet temperatures above the pseudo-critical temperature and result in a non-uniform temperature distribution in the outlet section. 相似文献

A non-invasive optical measurement technique for food analysis is presented, which allows for a reliable determination of the absolute pressure in beverage bottles with carbonated contents. The method uses a tunable laser diode with an emission wavelength around 2004 nm to record three to four absorption lines of CO2 and evaluates the pressure broadening of the lines proportional to the absolute pressure. With the developed measuring method, a standard deviation of repeated absolute pressure measurements of up to 5.5 bar of less than 50 mbar could finally be achieved in field measurements on sealed soft drink bottles made of PET. 相似文献

This study was performed to investigate certain major and toxic metal concentrations in different tissues of three demersal fish species (Triglia lucerna, Lophius budegassa, Solea lascaris). Generally, skin and liver exhibited higher metal concentrations than did muscle. Sodium and arsenic concentrations were found at higher levels in muscle tissues than in livers and skin, while zinc and nickel in different organs were classified as follows: skin > liver > muscle tissues. The concentrations of trace metals in fish samples indicated that S. lascaris was more contaminated than were other fish species, followed by L. budegassa and T. lucerna. It may be concluded that consumption of these species from this region is not likely to pose a threat for human health. However, although the concentrations are below the limit values for fish muscles, a potential danger may emerge in the future, depending on domestic waste waters and industrial activities in the region.
