This paper presents a new petabit photonic packet switch architecture, called PetaStar. Using a new multidimensional photonic multiplexing scheme that includes space, time, wavelength, and subcarrier domains, PetaStar is based on a three-stage Clos-network photonic switch fabric to provide scalable large-dimension switch interconnections with nanosecond reconfiguration speed. Packet buffering is implemented electronically at the input and output port controllers, allowing the central photonic switch fabric to transport high-speed optical signals without electrical-to-optical conversion. Optical time-division multiplexing technology further scales port speed beyond electronic speed up to 160 Gb/s to minimize the fiber connections. To solve output port contention and internal blocking in the three-stage Clos-network switch, we present a new matching scheme, called c-MAC, a concurrent matching algorithm for Clos-network switches. It is highly distributed such that the input-output matching and routing-path finding are concurrently performed by scheduling modules. One feasible architecture for the c-MAC scheme, where a crosspoint switch is used to provide the interconnections between the arbitration modules, is also proposed. With the c-MAC scheme, and an internal speedup of 1.5, PetaStar with a switch size of 6400 /spl times/ 6400 and total capacity of 1.024 petabit/s can be achieved at a throughput close to 100% under various traffic conditions. 相似文献

The synthesis of a p‐toluidine/formaldehyde (PTF) resin was performed, and the effects of the molar ratio of the individual monomers and the polymerization conditions on the structure of the PTF resin were studied. Fourier transform infrared and 13C‐NMR spectra were used to characterize the PTF. Wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction patterns revealed the crystalline structures of various PTFs. Polarized optical microscopy revealed that the molar ratio of the monomers had a strong effect on the crystalline morphologies. A longer polymerization time turned out a polymer with a higher intrinsic viscosity and molecular weight, which led to differences in the proton conductivity. All of the PTFs showed a higher proton conductivity than a commercial Nafion membrane at 90–100°C and 0% relative humidity. The proton conductivity of the PTF series could be improved by sulfonation with sulfuric acid and could be maintained after blending with polyurethane. Pure methanol could be used as a fuel source because of the insolubility and nonwetting properties of PTF in methanol to increase the output current density for a PTF membrane electrode assembly. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The popularity of grid services has widened their application to numerous domains and increased the utilization of computational resources. In order to create more incentives for the resources owners to lease their resources and prevent users from wasting the resources, the introduction of a market-oriented grid is inevitable. However, the issues for the negotiation between service provider and consumer over the supply and demand of resources can be complex, with highly interdependent issues. In this research, a simulated automated negotiation mechanism including a co-evolutionary mechanism and a modified game theory approach is proposed, to assist them in reaching an agreement over the conflicting issues. In the proposed architecture, the co-evolution process is able to reduce the multiple dimensional search space into a two-dimension search space and identify the appropriate negotiation strategies for the negotiating agents to form a payoff matrix which can be used for the game theory related stage of their interaction. The multiple stage negotiation process is introduced to improve the negotiation result. In this paper, an application which requires a large amount of computational resources to process the data generated from mobile devises is used to demonstrate that the proposed system is able to resolve the conflicts and obtain a valid solution. 相似文献

As the design trend of modern cellular phones evolves to be miniaturization and versatile sound in quality, the electro-mechanical components including the micro-speaker are essential toward size reduction and broad frequency range of sound. To reduce size, a diaphragm type micro-speaker is commonly employed in industry, while to broaden the sound frequency range corrugations on the diaphragm are adopted. The corrugations are generally capable of leading to fairly flat response over a broad range since diaphragm stiffness is decreased in axial direction. To confirm the aforementioned capability, the modeling on a corrugated diaphragm is performed first using finite element method (FEM) to obtain the associated dynamic equations in terms of modal coordinates; then the equations are next combined with the magneto-electrical model of the voice coil motor (VCM) that is attached to the bottom side of the diaphragm. Finally, the acoustic effects of the air inertia on the diaphragm and vents of the outer case are modeled using basic acoustic theories. Assembling all derived system equations and solving them, the frequency response of the micro-speaker in sound pressure level (SPL) can be simulated. It shows that the diaphragm corrugation in fact helps flatten the SPL response of the micro-speaker (especially in high frequency range) to lessen sound distortion. Furthermore, the corrugation angle approximately below 45° is favored over other angles or flatter SPL response. Experiments are also conducted to verify the theoretical findings. 相似文献
