The sub-rating channel assignment strategy for PCS hand-offs

A new personal communications services (PCS) hand-off scheme is proposed. This scheme provides for hand-off to radio ports on which there is no free channel by “sub-rating” an existing connection. With sub-rating, an occupied full-rate channel is temporarily divided into two half-rate channels: one to serve the existing call and the other to serve the hand-off request. The blocking probabilities (combined forced terminations of existing calls and blocking of new call attempts) of this new scheme compare favorably with the standard scheme (nonprioritizing) and the previously proposed prioritizing schemes. The costs for this scheme are presented and discussed, as well as the additional procedural complexity of implementing on-the-fly sub-rating and the impact of continuing the conversation on a lower rate channel (which may lower speech quality of increase battery drain). Analytical models and simulations investigating the traffic impacts are presented, as are the results that show that even in the highest offered load considered a 3-min conversation in the busy hour experiences less than half a second of sub-rated conversation on average and only about 3% of the calls experience more than 5.12 s of sub-rated conversation. This scheme can increase capacity by 8-35% for systems with 1% call incompletion probability

MPP中确定临界处理器数的方法

本文提出了并行求解问题时所应征用ＭＰＰ系统中临界处理器数的选择方法，该方法根据问题图中每一结点的时间特征进行选择，可操作性好，易于实现，特别适用于基于互连网络的ＭＰＰ系统和分布式系统。     

发动机扭矩与转速关系经验公式试验研究

在对发动机外特性曲线扭矩与转速实验数据分析的基础上，对原有的经验公式进行了分析、改进，提出了新的经验公式．由这一经验公式所计算的数值，在最大扭矩与最大功率点之间，可与实验数据拟合得很好．与原经验曲线相比，新经验曲线与实验曲线的离差可下降50％以上．     

水泥膨胀珍珠岩砂浆的保温试验研究与应用

荆江分洪北闸加固工程２号护坦（斜面）混凝土的保温层采用了水泥膨胀珍珠岩砂浆，并对这种材料的保温效果进行了试验研究。试验表明：水泥膨胀珍珠岩砂浆降低最高温差，减小内表温差，缩小表温变幅和防止混凝土表面裂缝效果显著。在北闸２号护坦混凝土表面铺设１万平方米保温层，获得良好效果。

在腹部CT扫描时,需令病人暂停呼吸以保证图像的清晰度,为此可采用两种方法:口令法和腹带固定法。本文以实例分析了这两种方法特点和适用对象。     

用红外热象技术研究有凸台热源倾斜板的散热

本文介绍红外热象技术在工程热物理研究中某些应用的探索。作为实例，通过热象技术，实验研究了具有水平凸台离散热源的倾斜板的散热，在研究它的自然对流换热部份结合利用激光全息干涉技术。此间着重于分析倾斜角对散热的影响。     

Boundary element analysis of thin plates internally bounded by rigid patches

Procedures are described for modelling a structural system consisting of thin Kirchhoff plates with internal patch areas capable of displacing as rigid flat surfaces. The physical prototype for these patches could be interconnection points for one-dimensional frame type elements of various shapes and layout, rigidly connected at these finite size 'joints' in the plate. The numerical procedure for modelling the thin plate is the Direct Boundary Element Method (DBEM) and a simple overview of this procedure is provided. Potential trouble spots, of which the user should be aware, are described. The paper will be of interest to structural engineers for analysis of frames having both plate and simple frame elements, for example, building frames; and also to researchers seeking the greater detail that this refined procedure can provide. As a practical tool, the methods described are computationally competitive with existing procedures, including the more rugged approaches used by building structural engineers for dynamic and torsional analysis.     

Comparison of Displacement and Mixing Diffusers

In order to cumpare the peformance of different supply diffuers of ventilation air, the airflow passern, temperature stratifiation and contaminant dispersion in a furnitured office ventilated by three kinds of air diffuer were numerically investigated. The air diffuers studied in this paper are a quarter-cylinder displacement diffuer on the floor and mixing diffuers (linear and vortex diffuers) on the ceiling. The heat sources in the of-fice are considered to be 50% convective and 50% radiative. The k-? two-equatwn model of turbulence is employed to predict the turbulent diffusion. The results show that the displacement diffuser provides a rather uniform flow field with low velocify in most areas, and the vertical temperature difference from floor to ceiling is as high as 6 K. With the linear diffuser, the air velociry is high, and the temperature is uniform both horizontally and vertically. The air velocity generated by the vortex diffuser is moderate. The distributions of the temperature and the contaminant are rather uniform.     

Principles for radiation of time-harmonic elementary current in magnetized electron plasma half-space

The radiation emitted by a time-harmonic elementary current in magnetized electron plasma half-space, bounded by an ideal electric plane, is investigated using an exact formulation. It is found that: conventional image principle holds for vertical magnetization case; while for parallel magnetization case, coupled image principle seems to be valid.
