It is discussed how to determine the optimal amount of storage space and the optimal number of transfer cranes for import containers. A cost model is developed for the decision making. It includes the space cost, the fixed cost of transfer cranes which corresponds to the investment cost, the variable cost of transfer cranes and outside trucks which is related to the time spent for the transfer of containers. A simple solution procedure for the optimal solution is provided. The solution procedure is illustrated using a numerical example.  相似文献

Effects of microstructural morphology on dynamic deformation behavior and ballistic impact properties of Ti-6Al-4V alloy plates were investigated in this study. Dynamic torsional and ballistic impact tests were conducted on equiaxed and bimodal microstructures, which were processed by different heat treatments, and then the test data were analyzed in relation to microstructures and tensile properties. According to the dynamic torsional test data, maximum shear stress and fracture shear strain of the bimodal microstructure were higher than those of the equiaxed microstructure, and the possibility of the adiabatic shear band formation was more likely in the equiaxed microstructure than in the bimodal microstructure. In the ballistically impacted region of the equiaxed microstructure, a number of adiabatic shear bands and cracks were observed to be formed along plastic flow lines, and delamination occurred because of cracking along the flow lines or shear bands. In the case of the bimodal microstructure, shear bands were found in limited areas near the penetrated surface without occurring delamination, and their number was smaller than that of the equiaxed microstructure. Thus, ballistic performance of the bimodal microstructure was better than that of the equiaxed microstructure, which was consistent with the dynamic torsional test results.  相似文献

Face recognition using fuzzy Integral and wavelet decomposition method   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
In this paper, we develop a method for recognizing face images by combining wavelet decomposition, Fisherface method, and fuzzy integral. The proposed approach is comprised of four main stages. The first stage uses the wavelet decomposition that helps extract intrinsic features of face images. As a result of this decomposition, we obtain four subimages (namely approximation, horizontal, vertical, and diagonal detailed images). The second stage of the approach concerns the application of the Fisherface method to these four decompositions. The choice of the Fisherface method in this setting is motivated by its insensitivity to large variation in light direction, face pose, and facial expression. The two last phases are concerned with the aggregation of the individual classifiers by means of the fuzzy integral. Both Sugeno and Choquet type of fuzzy integral are considered as the aggregation method. In the experiments we use n-fold cross-validation to assure high consistency of the produced classification outcomes. The experimental results obtained for the Chungbuk National University (CNU) and Yale University face databases reveal that the approach presented in this paper yields better classification performance in comparison to the results obtained by other classifiers.  相似文献

A combination of the extended finite element method (XFEM) and the mesh superposition method (s‐version FEM) for modelling of stationary and growing cracks is presented. The near‐tip field is modelled by superimposed quarter point elements on an overlaid mesh and the rest of the discontinuity is implicitly described by a step function on partition of unity. The two displacement fields are matched through a transition region. The method can robustly deal with stationary crack and crack growth. It simplifies the numerical integration of the weak form in the Galerkin method as compared to the s‐version FEM. Gravity in multi-pass condensers affects the refrigerant flow rate distribution, owing to the gravitational pressure drop that occurs mainly in the U-bend tubes in fin and tube condensers with horizontal tubes. This effect was studied using an experimental approach. A condenser with two ‘nU’ circuits was selected, and the temperature variation of the refrigerant side was measured and compared along each circuit. The critical air velocity, which indicated the initiation of the gravity effect, was found for a given refrigerant flow rate. As the air velocity increased beyond the critical air velocity, the gravity effect (or mal-distribution of the refrigerant flow) developed further. Similarly, the critical refrigerant flow rate was also determined for a given air velocity. As the refrigerant flow rate decreased below the critical refrigerant flow rate, the gravity effect also developed further. The gravity-affected region was shown in the table with rows of air velocities and columns of refrigerant flow rates, and expressed using a single parameter for a given refrigerant flow circuit.  相似文献

Usually many researchers have used the modified Hertzian contact law or experimental static indentation law to analyze impact response of composite laminates subjected to low-velocity impact. In this study, physical meaning of the analytical method using the laws was investigated and the difference between the analytical results obtained using the two laws was also investigated. Furthermore parametric study on contact coefficient and exponent of the contact law was performed. Finally it could be shown that linearized contact law could be well applied to the low-velocity impact analysis of composite laminates. If this concept is used, any general-purpose finite element method software can be used to solve impact problem without direct developing any FEM code by each researcher. In this paper, some analytical results analyzed using a general-purpose commercial FEM software were also presented.  相似文献

In this work, a probabilistic neural network (PNN) that has been applied well to the classification problems is used in order to identify the break locations of loss of coolant accidents (LOCA) such as hot-leg, cold-leg and steam generator tubes. Also, a fuzzy neural network (FNN) is designed to estimate the break size. The inputs to PNN and FNN are time-integrated values obtained by integrating measurement signals during a short time interval after reactor scram. An automatic structure constructor for the fuzzy neural network automatically selects the input variables from the time-integrated values of many measured signals, and optimizes the number of rules and its related parameters. It is verified that the proposed algorithm identifies very well the break locations of LOCAs and also, estimate their break size accurately.  相似文献

The spent fuel storage and transport cask must withstand various accident conditions such as fire, free drop and puncture in accordance with the requirement of the IAEA and domestic regulations. The spent fuel storage and transport cask should maintain the structural safety not to release radioactive material in any condition. And also the effects of the irradiation should be considered because the spent fuels stored in the cask for a long time and be possible to change the mechanical properties of the cask.In this study, the changed mechanical properties of the cask after irradiation for the 30 years storage periods are assumed and applied to the impact analysis using ABAQUS/Explicit code and seismic analysis using ANSYS code. The stress intensity on each part of the cask is calculated and the effects of irradiation are studied and structural integrity of the package is evaluated.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of aligning crystal orientation in the microstructures containing sub micro-sized grains on the thermoelectric properties for polycrystalline Bi-Te materials.Bi-Te powder,prepared through the conventional pulverization process,was sufficiently dispersed in an appropriate solvent,and then was formed into c-axis aligned green bodies under a designated high magnetic field.The green bodies were sintered with spark-plasma-sintering machine.The degree of crystal alignment of sintered bodies was examined with the electron-back-scatter-diffraction SEM and the X-ray diffraction patterns.It was observed that for both p and n type thermoelectric Bi-Te materials,aligning crystal orientation properly made electrical resistivity decreased with keeping Seebeck coefficient and thermal conductivity remained unchanged.As a typical result,the aligned Bi-Te material with the magnetic field of 10 tesla showed 30%enhancement of the thermoelectric performance.  相似文献

Remanufacturing is emerging as a promising solution for achieving green, profitable businesses. This article considers a manufacturer that produces new products and also remanufactured versions of the new products that become available at the end of their life cycle. For such a manufacturer, design decisions at the initial design stage determine both the current profit from manufacturing and future profit from remanufacturing. To maximize the total profit, design decisions must carefully consider both ends of product life cycle, i.e. manufacturing and end-of-life stages. This article proposes a decision-support model for the life-cycle design using mixed-integer nonlinear programming. With an aim to maximize the total life-cycle profit, the proposed model searches for an (at least locally) optimal product design (i.e. design specifications and the selling price) for the new and remanufactured products. It optimizes both the initial design and design upgrades at the end-of-life stage and also provides corresponding production strategies, including production quantities and take-back rate. The model is extended to a multi-objective model that maximizes both economic profit and environmental-impact saving. To illustrate, the developed model is demonstrated with an example of a desktop computer.  相似文献
