Nucleate pool boiling of binary mixtures composed of water and normal propyl alcohol (NPA) within a narrow space between heated and unheated horizontal-parallel surface has been investigated under atmospheric pressure. The electrically heated lower surface is made of a sheet of stainless steel 304 with the dimension of 145 x 22 x 0.05 mm and the unheated upper plate is a stainlesssieel cylinder with a diameter of 20 mm. The periphery of the confined space is open and the size of the gap can be varied from 0 to 10 mm. Experimental results show that the heat transfer coefficient of nucleate pool boiling of binary mixture in a narrow space is much greater than that of conventional nucleate pool boiling. It is due to the evaporation of a thin liquid film under the deformed bubble. Experimental results also show that mass diffusion effect is important in both nucleate pool boiling in a narrow space and in conventional nucleate pool boiling. Based on the experimental results, the microlayer evaporation, mass diffusion and the film flow driven by the gradient of the disjoining pressure and the Marangoni effect are discussed. 相似文献

An experimental and theoretical study is performed for bulk separation of H2/CO2 mixture (70/30 volume %) by PSA process with zeolite 5A, a process widely used commercially in conjunction with the catalytic
steam reforming of natural gas or naphtha. For the optimized adsorption conditions of PSA, the characteristics of adsorption/desorption
characteristics have been studied through breakthrough and desorption experiments under various conditions. The purge-to-feed
ratio is important to the H2 product purity only at a long adsorption step time. H2 could be concentrated from 70% in the feed to 99.99% at H2 recovery of 67.5%. The results of all five steps in PSA are successfully predicted by the LDF model considering an energy
balance and nonlinear isotherm. For the model, the effective diffusivities (D,) are obtained separately from the uptake curves
of H2 and CO2. The Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm is used to correlate the experimental equilibrium data and is very well fitted to the results. 相似文献

The reduction of NO
x
with propene or propane in the presence of 1 or 4% O2 was studied at low conversions over a 7.4 wt% Cu-ZrO2 and a 3.2 wt% Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst. The rates of N2 production were compared in experiments using only NO or a mixture of NO and NO2 in the feed. They were also compared with the rates of NO2 reduction to NO under the same conditions, and of NO oxidation to NO2 in the absence of hydrocarbon. It was found that the reduction of NO2 to NO was very fast, consistent with literature data. The data were best explained by a reaction scheme in which the hydrocarbon was activated primarily by reaction with adsorbed NO2 to form an adsorbed oxidized N-containing hydrocarbon intermediate, the reaction of which with NO was the principal route to produce N2 under lean NO
x

Phenolphthalein poly(ether ketone) (PEK-C) was tested using an instrumented impact tester to determine the temperature effect on the fracture toughness Kc and critical strain energy release rate Gc. Two different mechanisms, namely the relaxation processes and thermal blunting of the crack tip were used to explain the temperature effect on the fracture toughness. Examination of the fracture surfaces revealed the presence of crack growth bands. It is suggested that these bands are the consequence of variations in crack growth along crazes that are formed in the crack tip stress field. As the crack propagates, the stress is relaxed locally, decreasing the growth rate allowing a new bundle of crazes to nucleate along which the crack advances. 相似文献

A series of tensile and three-point bending studies was conducted at various temperatures and loading rates using phenolphthalein polyether ketone (PEK-C). Yield stress, Young's modulus, fracture toughness, and crack opening displacement data were obtained for various conditions. In general, both yield stress and Young's modulus increase with decreasing temperature. However, the relationships between fracture toughness, loading rate, and temperature are very complex. This behavior is due to the simultaneous intersection of viscoelasticity and localized plastic deformation. The increased yield stress is the main factor contributing to the reduction in fracture toughness and crack opening displacement. Stress relaxation and dynamic mechanical behavior of phenolphthalein poly(ether ketone) (PEK-C) have been investigated. Using Ferry's reduction method, the master curve was obtained. From the experimental results, we found that the WLF equation is not appropriate in the lower-temperature range (T < Tg). The relaxation spectrum was calculated according to the first approximation method proposed by Schwarzl and Staverman. In addition to the α-transition region, a second transition zone is revealed at low temperature.
