In this work, we investigate the electrical performance of critical signal paths in IBM's S/390 MCM packages. We present lumped RLC-models suitable for standard circuit simulators like e.g. SPICE. The models are developed from finite element simulations of typical signal path segments. By comparing S-parameters from simulations of the models to two-port network analyzer measurements we validate the models in a frequency range up to 3 GHz  相似文献

Beach wrack constitutes an unutilized, abundant renewable source of marine macro algae being rich in valuable biopolymers. This work investigates the revalorization of the brown algae Fucus vesiculosus collected from beach wrack as a source of alginate, the main polysaccharide in brown algae which constitutes a potential ingredient for the development of biopolymer films. Enzyme-assisted extraction has been investigated for cell disruption with commercial cellulase blends and proteases. The effect of enzyme type, enzyme activity, and extraction time on alginate yields, molecular weight distribution, functional groups, and purity has been studied.  相似文献

Class-based service differentiation can be realized without resource reservation, admission control and traffic policing. However, the resulting service guarantees are only relative, in the sense that guarantees given to a flow class at any time are expressed with reference to the service given to other flow classes. While it is, in principle, not feasible to provision for absolute guarantees (i.e., to assure lower bounds on service metrics at all times) without admission control and/or traffic policing, we will show in this paper that such a service can be reasonably well emulated using adaptive rate allocation and dropping mechanisms at the link schedulers of routers. We name the resulting type of guarantees best-effort bounds. We propose mechanisms for link schedulers of routers that achieve these and other guarantees by adjusting the drop rates and the service rate allocations of traffic classes to current load conditions. The mechanisms are rooted in control theory and employ adaptive feedback loops. We demonstrate that these mechanisms can realize many recently proposed approaches to class-based service differentiation. The effectiveness of the proposed mechanisms are evaluated in measurement experiments of a kernel-level implementation in FreeBSD PC-routers with multiple 100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces, complemented with simulations of larger scale networks.  相似文献

With possible implications in multiple autoimmune diseases, the retinoic acid receptor‐related orphan receptor RORγ has become a sought‐after target in the pharmaceutical industry. Herein are described the efforts to identify a potent RORγ inverse agonist compatible with topical application for the treatment of skin diseases. These efforts culminated in the discovery of N‐(2,4‐dimethylphenyl)‐N‐isobutyl‐2‐oxo‐1‐[(tetrahydro‐2H‐pyran‐4‐yl)methyl]‐2,3‐dihydro‐1H‐benzo[d]imidazole‐5‐sulfonamide (CD12681), a potent inverse agonist with in vivo activity in an IL‐23‐induced mouse skin inflammation model.  相似文献

Despite increasing evidence for biosynthetic connections between flower pigments and volatile compounds, examples of such relationships in polymorphic plant species remains limited. Herein, color–scent associations in flowers from Papaver nudicaule (Papaveraceae) have been investigated. The spectral reflectance and scent composition of flowers of four color cultivars was determined. We found that pigments and volatiles occur in specific combinations in flowers of P. nudicaule. The presence of indole in the bouquets is strongly associated with the occurrence of yellow pigments called nudicaulins, for which indole is one of the final biosynthetic precursors. Whereas yellow flowers emit an excess of indole, orange flowers consume it during nudicaulin production and lack the substance in their bouquet. By using the honeybee, Apis mellifera, evaluations were made on how color and scent affect the discrimination of these flowers by pollinators. Honeybees were able to discriminate artificial odor mixtures resembling those of the natural flower odors. Bees trained with stimuli combining colors and odors showed an improved discrimination performance. The results indicate that the indole moiety of nudicaulins and emitted indole might be products of the same biochemical pathway. We propose that conserved pathways account for the evolution of color–scent associations in P. nudicaule and that these associations positively affect flower constancy of pollinators.  相似文献

Baeyer–Villiger monooxygenases (BVMOs) catalyze the oxidation of ketones to esters or lactones by using molecular oxygen and a cofactor. Type I BVMOs display a strong preference for NADPH. However, for industrial purposes NADH is the preferred cofactor, as it is ten times cheaper and more stable. Thus, we created a variant of the cyclohexanone monooxygenase from Acinetobacter sp. NCIMB 9871 (CHMOAcineto); this used NADH 4200‐fold better than NADPH. By combining structure analysis, sequence alignment, and literature data, 21 residues in proximity of the cofactor were identified and targeted for mutagenesis. Two combinatorial variants bearing three or four mutations showed higher conversions of cyclohexanone with NADH (79 %) compared to NADPH (58 %) as well as specificity. The structural reasons for this switch in cofactor specificity of a type I BVMO are especially a hydrogen‐bond network coordinating the two hydroxy groups of NADH through direct interactions and bridging water molecules.  相似文献
