Four commercial polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membranes were applied to the pervaporation of an azeotropic mixture containing trimethyl borate, a precursor to boronic acids used in Suzuki couplings and a gaseous anti‐oxidant in solder flux or brazing. The degree of cross‐linking of the chains in the active layer played a crucial role in the membrane process using the membranes PERVAP 4155‐80, PERVAP 4155‐40 and PERVAP 4155‐30. PERVAP 4155‐30 reached the best results from all tested membranes; an impressive selectivity with fast permeation was also achieved with the PERVAP 4060 membrane. Methanol preferentially passed through PERVAP 4155‐30, but trimethyl borate was favorably pervaporated from the mixture by PERVAP 6040, due to the diverse affinities of the membranes. 相似文献

An addition of boron largely increases the ductility in polycrystalline high-temperature Co–Re alloys. Therefore, the effect of boron on the alloy structural characteristics is of high importance for the stability of the matrix at operational temperatures. Volume fractions of ε (hexagonal close-packed—hcp), γ (face-centered cubic—fcc) and σ (Cr2Re3 type) phases were measured at ambient and high temperatures (up to 1500 °C) for a boron-containing Co–17Re–23Cr alloy using neutron diffraction. The matrix phase undergoes an allotropic transformation from ε to γ structure at high temperatures, similar to pure cobalt and to the previously investigated, more complex Co–17Re–23Cr–1.2Ta–2.6C alloy. It was determined in this study that the transformation temperature depends on the boron content (0–1000 wt. ppm). Nevertheless, the transformation temperature did not change monotonically with the increase in the boron content but reached a minimum at approximately 200 ppm of boron. A probable reason is the interplay between the amount of boron in the matrix and the amount of σ phase, which binds hcp-stabilizing elements (Cr and Re). A molecule of the photoreceptor Ca2+-binding protein recoverincontains four potential EF-hand Ca2+-binding sites, of whichonly two, the second and the third, are capable of binding calciumions. We have studied the effects of substitutions in the second,third and fourth EF-hand sites of recoverin on its Ca2+-bindingproperties and some other characteristics, using intrinsic fluorescence,circular dichroism spectroscopy and differential scanning microcalorimetry.The interaction of the two operating binding sites of wild-typerecoverin with calcium increases the protein's thermal stability,but makes the environment around the tryptophan residues moreflexible. The amino acid substitution in the EF-hand 3 (E121Q)totally abolishes the high calcium affinity of recoverin, whilethe mutation in the EF-hand 2 (E85Q) causes only a moderatedecrease in calcium binding. Based on this evidence, we suggestthat the binding of calcium ions to recoverin is a sequentialprocess with the EF-hand 3 being filled first. Estimation ofCa2+-binding constants according to the sequential binding schemegave the values 3.7 x 106 and 3.1 x 105 M1 for thirdand second EF-hands, respectively. The substitutions in theEF-hand 2 or 3 (or in both the sites simultaneously) do notdisturb significantly either tertiary or secondary structureof the apo-protein. Amino acid substitutions, which have beendesigned to restore the calcium affinity of the EF-hand 4 (G160D,K161E, K162N, D165G and K166Q), increase the calcium capacityand affinity of recoverin but also perturb the protein structureand decrease the thermostability of its apo-form. 相似文献

The thermal treatment of waste-tyre by co-gasification with lignite was investigated on a commercial scale during the Lurgi gasification process. The experiments proved that this material can be treated in a mixture with lignite in the process of oxygen–steam pressure co-gasification in a moving bed, because a waste-tyre admixture improves the net calorific value of the raw gas obtained by 3% in comparison with that from the gasification of lignite alone. Further, it was found that the H2S and CH3SH contents in the raw gas are lower in the case of co-gasification than those from the gasification of lignite alone. Considering the very low reactivity of the char from waste-tyre and the resultant unburned carbon in the ash, the optimal content of the waste-tyre admixture in the gasified feed should not exceed 10 wt.%, whereas short-term increases of up to 20 wt.% will not cause any technological problems or significant economic losses. 相似文献

Skin whitening products are commercially available for cosmetic purposes in order to obtain a lighter skin appearance. They are also utilized for clinical treatment of pigmentary disorders such as melasma or postinflammatory hyperpigmentation. Whitening agents act at various levels of melanin production in the skin. Many of them are known as competitive inhibitors of tyrosinase, the key enzyme in melanogenesis. Others inhibit the maturation of this enzyme or the transport of pigment granules (melanosomes) from melanocytes to surrounding keratinocytes. The drugs based on platinum metals represent one of the oldest, but also one of the most effective groups of chemotherapeutic agents. Thanks to many clinical studies it is known that resistance of tumor cells to drugs is a frequent cause of chemotherapy failure. With regard to platinum based drugs, multidrug resistance can also be connected with increased expression of low-molecular weight protein metallothionein (MT). This study aimed at investigating the interactions of MT with cisplatin or carboplatin, using the adsorptive transfer technique coupled with differential pulse voltammetry Brdicka reaction (AdTS DPV Brdicka reaction), and a comparison of in vitro results with results obtained in vivo. The results obtained from the in vitro study show a strong affinity between platinum based drugs and MT. Further, we analyzed extracts of neuroblastoma cell lines treated with cisplatin or carboplatin. It is clear that neuroblastoma UKF-NB-4 cisplatin-resistant and cisplatin-sensitive cell lines unlikely respond to the presence of the platinum-based cytostatics cisplatin and carboplatin. Finally, we determined the level of MT in samples from rabbits treated with carboplatin and patients with retinoblastoma treated with the same drug. 相似文献

The knowledge of the molecular basis of communication in bumblebee communities is limited. None of the enzymes that participate in pheromone production have been characterized. Here, we cloned the gene encoding the Delta(9) desaturase from cDNA prepared from the total RNA of the pheromone gland and fat bodies of Bombus lucorum male. Functional expression of BlucNPVE desaturase in Saccharomyces cerevisiae and GC-MS analyses revealed its preference for C(18) saturated fatty acids. This suggests that Delta(9) desaturase is involved in the desaturation of metabolic fatty acids stored in triacylglyceroles (TAGs), because oleic acid is the most abundant fatty acid bound in TAG in B. lucorum and it is present in low concentration in the pheromone blend. The incubation of pheromone precursors with a dissected labial gland as well as direct injection of labelled pheromone substrates into B. lucorum males revealed that esterification of pheromone products occurs in the labial gland. These results support both the biosynthesis of pheromones from common lipids and the de novo synthesis of unsaturated pheromones in the labial gland. 相似文献

Plasma spraying enables to create layers with thickness in a millimeter range adhering on various substrates. This paper provides a study of electric and mechanical properties of BaTiO3 coatings prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying. The spraying was carried out by a direct current gas-stabilized plasma gun. BaTiO3 was fed into the plasma jet as a feedstock powder prepared by a reactive sintering of micrometer-sized powders of BaCO3 and TiO2. Microstructure and phase composition are reported and discussed in connection with electric and mechanical properties. The ability of the used techniques to detect precisely the phase transformation temperatures of BaTiO3 plasma sprayed coatings is discussed as well. A depth-sensing indentation measurement was done between 290 and 520 K to provide local mechanical characterization. The elastic modulus has shown slightly higher values than that reported typically in papers focused on BaTiO3 ferroelectric thin films. The average Vickers microhardness is tested to characterize the samples in larger scale. A wear resistance in a slurry environment is reported as well. Dielectric properties are reported for the temperature window of existence of the tetragonal ferroelectric phase. Relative permittivity and loss factor are studied at frequency from 50 Hz to 1 MHz and temperature from 260 to 400 K. 相似文献
