The structural stability of the pigment was investigated using X-ray diffraction coupled with SEM and UV–vis–IR analysis, as a function of the relative Co content and calcination temperature. A standard formulation prepared from commercial reagents was also prepared and characterized for the sake of comparison. The pigment was added to a transparent glaze and to a porcelain stoneware body. Since the relative amount of cobalt was low and the sintering temperature of the pigment was not too high (1350–1400 °C), the new pigment system offers an interesting alternative to spinel, olivine and willemite commercial blue pigments. Moreover, the use of several wastes in the pigment formulation does not diminish its colouring performance.  相似文献

The sugar industry is concerned with color formation due to the oxidation of phenolic compounds in the presence of carbohydrates. In this study, we investigated the ozonation of a mixture of five phenolic compounds in water and aqueous sucrose solution: p-coumaric (p-COU), caffeic (CAF), syringic (SYR), and chlorogenic (CHO) acids, as well as the flavonoid quercetin (QUE). The experiments were carried out in a 3-L glass reactor with magnetic stirring and a diffuser plate at the bottom to feed the ozone-oxygen gas mixture. Initial solution concentrations of 5 mg L?1 of each acid, 15 mg L?1 of quercetin, and 40 g L?1 of sucrose were used. The degradation of phenolic compounds followed apparent first-order kinetics, with rate constants and percent removals decreasing in the presence of sucrose. In water, average consumed ozone dosages of 10.4 and 18.7 mg L?1 were necessary for 50% and 90% removals, respectively, for CHO, CAF, and p-COU; for QUE they were slightly higher (13.9 and 20.5 mg L?1, respectively). At a consumed dosage of 20.8 mg O3 L?1, more than 99% removal was obtained for CHO, CAF, and p-COU, while 96.2% was achieved for SYR. In contrast, QUE revealed to be more recalcitrant during ozonation in the absence of sucrose, with only 70% removal at the highest consumed O3 dosage. The consumed ozone dosages for 50% and 90% removals were higher for CHO, CAF, and p-COU in aqueous sucrose solution, which may impact ozone consumption during real sugarcane juice treatment. Sucrose and t-butanol were the main influential parameters that significantly affected the total amount of phenolic compounds degraded.  相似文献

Factorial design and response surface techniques were used in combination with mathematical modelling and computational simulation to optimise an innovative industrial bioprocess, the production of biobutanol employing the flash fermentation technology. A parametric analysis performed by means of a full factorial design at two levels determined the influence of operating variables on butanol yield and productivity. A second set of simulations were carried out based on the central composite rotatable design. This procedure generated simplified statistical models that describe butanol yield and productivity as functions of the significant operating variables. From these models, response surfaces were obtained and used to optimise the process. For a range of substrate concentration from 130 to 180 g/l, the optimum operating ranges ensure butanol productivity between 7.0 and 8.0 g/l h, butanol yield between 19 and 22%, substrate conversion above 90% and final butanol concentration around 25 g/l.  相似文献

The turbulent gas‐liquid flow field in an industrial 100‐m3 stirred tank was calculated by using computational fluid dynamics based on the finite‐volume method. Turbulent effects were modeled with the shear stress transport model, and gas‐liquid bubbly flow was modeled with the Eulerian‐Eulerian approach using the Grace correlation for the drag force interphase momentum transfer. The relative motion between the rotating impeller and the stationary baffled tank was considered by using a multiple frames of reference algorithm. The effects of Rushton and pitched‐blade impeller design parameters such as blade geometry, location, and pumping direction on the mixing performance were investigated. It was found that a combination of Rushton turbines with up‐pumping pitched‐blade turbines provides the best mixing performance in terms of gas holdup and interfacial area density. The approach outlined in this work is useful for performance optimization of biotechnology reactors, as typically found in fermentation processes.  相似文献

Sodium octacosanoate (NaC28‐32) is commonly used as a nucleating agent in polyester and polyamide formulations. In this work, the effect of adding this agent to three chemically identical thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs), but with distinct molecular weights, was addressed, focusing on the study of the crystallization phenomenon. The modified Avrami and Avrami‐Ozawa kinetic models were applied to the isothermal and non‐isothermal crystallization processes, respectively, and both indicated faster crystallization when the nucleating agent was used, with an increase in temperature and rate of crystallization of the TPU. Such effect was partly attributed to the formation of a larger number of crystallization nuclei in comparison to the neat TPU. Besides, the nucleating effect was more pronounced for the TPU with the lowest molecular weight (30,000 Dalton). The Avrami and Avrami‐Ozawa models indicated that the TPU crystallization process occurs with the development of two‐dimensional lamellar aggregates, axialites, and that the incorporation of thenucleating agent does not alter this geometry. Phosphinic-derivative poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene)-based on PS–DVB copolymers with different porosity degrees have been prepared by aromatic electrophilic substitution reaction using PCl3/AlCl3 followed by base-promoted hydrolysis. The phosphorylation reaction was analyzed by infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and thermogravimetry (TG/DTG). In addition, the phosphorous content of the phosphorylated copolymers was determined by spectrophotometry using the method based on sodium molybdate reactant so that the extension of that modification could be assessed. The performance of the phosphorylated resins in the extraction of Pb2+ from aqueous solutions in a batch system was also evaluated. The Pb2+ content was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). These materials presented excellent extraction capacity under the contact time of 30 min and pH 6.  相似文献

The residue from a hydroalcoholic extract of the mushroom Agaricus blazei (MAR) was evaluated for phenolic compounds, flavonoids and antioxidant activity. The ability of MAR to slow the oxidation of Omega‐3 resulting from light exposure in milk matrix, and its bioavailability after in vitro digestion was investigated. MAR presented phenolic compounds and flavonoids and showed antioxidant activity. At each concentration, addition of MAR to Omega‐3‐supplemented milk inhibited the production of conjugated dienes and malonaldehyde compared with samples without MAR. The bioavailability assay showed that polyphenols were still present after in vitro digestion and had antioxidant activity.  相似文献
