MASCEM: a multiagent system that simulates competitive electricity markets   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Around the world, the electricity industry, which has long been dominated by vertically integrated utilities, is experiencing major changes in the structure of its markets and regulations. Owing to new regulations, it's evolving into a distributed industry in which market forces drive electricity's price. The industry is becoming competitive; a market environment is replacing the traditional centralized-operation approach. This transformation is often called the deregulation of the electricity market. MASCEM, a multiagent simulator system, is a valuable framework for evaluating new rules, new behavior, and new participants in the numerous electricity markets that are moving toward liberalization and competition.  相似文献

Differential radar interferometry, using archived ERS data over the region of the Dead Sea Transform, allows to detect ground movement (subsidence or uplift) in playas within the southern Arava Valley segment of the Dead Sea Rift. These measurements are consistent with a mean displacement rate of about 0.4 cm/month, in the direction of the radar beam, during the 8-month period preceding the Nuweiba earthquake of 22 November 1995. In the 3 years following the earthquake, the measured rate was smaller by a factor of 10. These movements are not related to salt diapirs or water pumping activities in the area. The exact location, along faults, suggests a possible correlation with pre-seismic and post-seismic fault deformation.A simple fault model consistent with the observed phenomena associates the observed subsidence/uplift to right and left stepping en-echelon fault patterns related to inter-seismic tensional accumulation along the faults. Further observations are necessary on this site and similar fault areas to corroborate the correlation between seismic activity and the observed phenomena. Monitoring of these sites should continue with differential Global positioning system (GPS) measurements and radar interferometric analysis using Envisat and Radarsat as well as archived data (including J-ERS).  相似文献

The solution behaviour of a new mesogenic side group polyacrylate in tetrahydrofuran and toluene has been investigated by static and dynamic light scattering. In the dilute regime the polymer behaves as typical polydisperse linear chains in good solvent and the dynamics is dominated by a single fast mode. Cluster formation was detected starting at a concentration around 50 g l−1. It seems to be independent of the solvent as well as of polymer molecular weight. In the semidilute regime, the behaviour of the reduced osmotic modulus leads to the conclusion that repulsion between the chains is stronger than in linear macromolecules. The appearance of larger clusters was revealed above a characteristic concentration and is slightly dependent on the polyacrylate molecular weight. The dynamics was generally characterised by a fast mode related to the cooperative diffusion and by a slow mode associated with large clusters. The existence of a network of multiconnected clusters is envisaged with increasing solution concentration.  相似文献

The free amino acids and peptides contents of Mahon cheese during four months of ripening were studied using high performance liquid chromatography and gel electrophoresis, respectively. The total content of free amino acids generally increased throughout the ripening period, except in one batch. Phenylalanine, valine, proline, glutamic acid and isoleucine were the most abundant free amino acids in all the tests throughout the four month period. They accounted for between 67 and 80% of the free amino acids. No difference was found between the pattern of traditionally made and industrially made Mahon cheeses. Electrophoresis of soluble nitrogen showed the main whey proteins as well as other bands corresponding to peptides.  相似文献

Precise timing and asynchronous I/O are appealing features for many applications. Unix kernels provide such features on a per‐process basis, using signals to communicate asynchronous events to applications. Per‐process signals and timers are grossly inadequate for complex multithreaded applications that require per‐thread signals and timers that operate at finer granularity. To respond to this need, we present a scheme that integrates asynchronous (Unix) signals with user‐level threads, using the ARIADNE system as a platform. This is done with a view towards support for portable, multithreaded, and multiprotocol distributed applications, namely the CLAM (connectionless, lightweight, and multiway) communications library. In the same context, we propose the use of continuations as an efficient mechanism for reducing thread context‐switching and busy‐wait overheads in multithreaded protocols. Our proposal for integrating timers and signal‐handling mechanisms not only solves problems related to race conditions, but also offers an efficient and flexible interface for timing and signalling threads. Growth of aerobic mesophilic bacteria in mixed salad without dressing, containing cooked sweet corn and raw endive, was similar to that of raw endive alone. At 9°C, sweet corn permitted the growth of the lactic acid bacterium Leuconostoc mesenteroides , whenever the bacterium was present on raw endive, whereas no growth of lactic acid bacteria was recorded on raw endive alone. Listeria monocytogenes , artificially inoculated in the samples, grew more in the mixed salad than in the raw endive alone, for products stored at 6°C and 9°C. Acidification of sweet corn to pH 5.0 was proposed to reduce the development of L. monocytogenes in the mixed salad to a level similar to that recorded in the raw endive alone. Acidification with citric acid reduced spoilage of sweet corn, whereas acetic acid caused necrosis on the leaves of raw endive.  相似文献

Clustering is an important data analysis tool for discovering structure in data sets. Although research on conceptual clustering has produced algorithms showing significant advantages over earlier numerical ones, existing methods still present some limitations regarding applicability to biomedical domains. In this paper we describe ADAGIO, a conceptual clustering algorithm combining a low-cost preordering process with a breadth-first incremental control strategy that incorporates merging and splitting operators. Experimental evaluation indicated that the algorithm achieves a good balance between structure discovery performance and computational efficiency, and demonstrated the comparative effectiveness of its missing information handling process. ADAGIO is able to handle qualitative, quantitative and mixed-type data. An application example to a cancer domain is given, where the algorithm was able to suggest interesting epidemiological interpretations.  相似文献

Summary Physicochemical and organoleptic properties were studied in two batches of four different types of goat's milk cheese: fresh, washed curd, soft with surface flora, and Majorero, frozen for four months prior to ripening and/or chilled storage. Frozen storage did not produce significant changes in the rheological or sensory characteristics of the cheeses, except in the case of fresh cheese, the textural characteristics of which were adversely affected. The level of proteolysis, estimated from the amino-acid nitrogen, was higher in the pre-frozen washed curd, soft with surface flora, and Majorero cheeses. The level of lipolysis was comparable, except in the soft cheese with surface flora, which presented higher levels of free fatty acids when stored frozen before ripening.
Einfluß des Gefrierens und der Gefrierlagerung auf die physikalisch-chemischen und organoleptischen Eigenschaften von vier Ziegenkäsen
Zusammenfassung Aus Ziegenmilch wurden jeweils zwei Chargen von vier spanischen Käsesorten hergestellt: Frischkäse, gewaschene Käsemasse, Weichkäse mit Oberflächenflora und Majorero -Käse. Von jeder Charge wurde die Hälfte gefroren gelagert und erst nach vier Monaten auf die übliche Weise gereift und/oder gekühlt aufbewahrt. Die physikalisch-chemischen und organoleptischen Eigenschaften wurden danach untersucht. Im Vergleich mit Käsen, die nicht gefroren gewesen waren, ergaben sich keine wesentlichen Unterschiede in den rheologischen und sensorischen Eigenschaften, mit Ausnahme bei den Frischkäsen, bei dem sich die Textur durch die Aufbewahrung in gefrorenem Zustand verschlechtert hatte. Der Gehalt an freien Aminosäuren, ein Maß für die Proteolyse, war höher in der gewaschenen Käsemasse, in dem Weichkäse mit Oberflächenflora und in dem Majorero-Käse, die vier Monate gefroren gewesen waren. Durch die Gefrierlagerung hatte sich der Fettabbau nicht verändert, mit Ausnahme bei dem Käse mit Oberflächenflora, bei dem der Gehalt an freien Fettsäuren erhöht war im Vergleich mit dem Käse, der nicht vier Monate gefriergelagert worden war.

In this paper, we verify how far electric disturbance signals can be compressed without compromising the analysis of encoded fault records. A recently proposed compression algorithm, referred to as Damped Sinusoidal Matching Pursuit (DSMP) has the remarkable feature of obtaining both compact and physically interpretable representations. However, for fault analysis applications, one is primarily interested in how accurate can be the analysis performed on compressed signals, instead of evaluating mean-squared error figures. Unlike previous works in digital fault records compression, the performance of the DSMP compression method is evaluated using a protocol based on fault analysis procedures commonly performed by expert engineers. This protocol is applied for comparing the results obtained in the analysis of both uncompressed records and their compressed versions at different compression ratios. The results show that the DSMP is a reliable compression system since it achieves high compression ratios (6.4:1) without causing fault analysis misinterpretation.  相似文献
