This paper presents algorithms for designing assembly lines with overlapping work stations where technological limitations may restrict simultaneous performance of certain work elements on the same copy of a product. Computational procedures for the handling of these physical constraints are developed, utilizing techniques from disjunctive graph theory and illustrated with sample problems.  相似文献

Traditionally assembly line balancing problems have been examined under the assumption of serial work station design. Thus no pair of work stations could be simultaneously working on the same copy of a product. This paper presents two models for which this assumption is dropped. The algorithms developed for operational design of such assembly lines are presented along with sample problems to demonstrate the computational procedures and advantages of these models.  相似文献

We investigated the chemical composition and phytotoxicity of the essential oil extracted from leaves of Artemisia scoparia Waldst. et Kit. (red stem wormwood, Asteraceae). GC/GC-MS analyses revealed 33 chemical constituents representing 99.83% of the oil. The oil, in general, was rich in monoterpenes that constitute 71.6%, with β-myrcene (29.27%) as the major constituent followed by (+)-limonene (13.3%), (Z)-β-ocimene (13.37%), and γ-terpinene (9.51%). The oil and β-myrcene were evaluated in a dose–response bioassay under laboratory conditions for phytotoxicity against three weeds—Avena fatua, Cyperus rotundus, and Phalaris minor. A significant reduction in germination, seedling growth, and dry matter accumulation was observed in the test weeds. At the lowest treatment of 0.07 mg/ml Artemisia oil, germination was reduced by 39%, 19%, and 10.6% in C. rotundus, P. minor, and A. fatua, respectively. However, the inhibitory effect of β-myrcene was less. In general, a dose-dependent effect was observed and the growth declined with increasing concentration. Among the three weeds, the inhibitory effect was greatest on C. rotundus, so it was selected for further studies. We explored the explanation for observed growth inhibition in terms of reactive oxygen species (ROS: lipid peroxidation, membrane integrity, and amounts of conjugated dienes and hydrogen peroxide)-induced oxidative stress. Exposure of C. rotundus to Artemisia oil or β-myrcene enhanced solute leakage, indicating membrane disintegration. There were increased levels of malondialdehyde and hydrogen peroxide, indicating lipid peroxidation and induction of oxidative stress. We conclude that Artemisia oil inhibits plant root growth through generation of ROS-induced oxidative damage.  相似文献

Greenhouse technology is a practical option for the production and drying of agricultural products in controlled environment. For the successful design of a greenhouse, the selection of a suitable shape and orientation is of great importance. Of various shapes of greenhouses, the even-span roof and the Quonset shape greenhouses are the most commonly used for crop cultivation and drying. The orientation of greenhouses is kept east–west for maximum utilization of solar radiations. Hybrid and modified greenhouse dryers have been proposed for drying of products. The agricultural products dried in greenhouses are found to be better in quality as compared to open sun drying because they are protected from dust, rain, insects, birds and animals. In the presented research, work investigations have been made for mechanical properties of the functional prototypes prepared from biocompatible filament of fused deposition modelling (FDM), comprising of hydroxyapatite (HAp), polypropylene (PP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The functional prototypes will be used in clinical dentistry (mainly for joining application for job-type production activities). The filament has been prepared in house using twin screw extrusion process. For evaluation purpose, standard tensile specimens as per ASTM D-638 have been prepared on FDM. This study highlights the effect of three parameters of FDM (namely: infill percentage, layer thickness and speed of extrusion head) on the mechanical properties (namely: load at peak and load at break). The results of the study suggest that infill density has majorly contributed, 92% on load at peak and 89% for load at break, and deposition speed has very less contribution i.e., 1% towards the mechanical strength of the specimen. Further, the results are supported with thermal analysis using differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), which ensures that the specimen prepared are thermally stable and can be put in for joining applications for job-type production activities in clinical dentistry.  相似文献

Although once perceived as inert structures that merely serve for lipid storage, lipid droplets (LDs) have proven to be the dynamic organelles that hold many cellular functions. The LDs’ basic structure of a hydrophobic core consisting of neutral lipids and enclosed in a phospholipid monolayer allows for quick lipid accessibility for intracellular energy and membrane production. Whereas formed at the peripheral and perinuclear endoplasmic reticulum, LDs are degraded either in the cytosol by lipolysis or in the vacuoles/lysosomes by autophagy. Autophagy is a regulated breakdown of dysfunctional, damaged, or surplus cellular components. The selective autophagy of LDs is called lipophagy. Here, we review LDs and their degradation by lipophagy in yeast, which proceeds via the micrometer-scale raft-like lipid domains in the vacuolar membrane. These vacuolar microdomains form during nutrient deprivation and facilitate internalization of LDs via the vacuolar membrane invagination and scission. The resultant intra-vacuolar autophagic bodies with LDs inside are broken down by vacuolar lipases and proteases. This type of lipophagy is called microlipophagy as it resembles microautophagy, the type of autophagy when substrates are sequestered right at the surface of a lytic compartment. Yeast microlipophagy via the raft-like vacuolar microdomains is a great model system to study the role of lipid domains in microautophagic pathways.  相似文献

Water Flow Calibration Facilities (WFCFs) are widely used for the calibration of water flowmeters all over the world. Last two decades have witnessed significant research contributions in the development of instrumentation and techniques with special emphasis on reducing the measurement errors and improving the measurement uncertainty in flow calibration. It is difficult to find a consolidated report/review of such developments for the new entrants/researchers/metrologists in this field. Therefore, authors considered that it is high time to review the literature and compile a concise report to this effect. Present paper is an attempt to publish terse review on the historical background, recent developments and current status of WFCF and related works. The work going on at National Physical Laboratory, India, in this direction is also briefly described.  相似文献

Utilizing lentil protein as a novel ingredient for producing texturized vegetable proteins (TVPs) can provide new opportunities for the production of next-generation hybrid meat products. TVPs from lentil protein isolate were manufactured using low-moisture extrusion cooking at different combinations of screw speed (SS), feed moisture content (MC), and barrel temperature (BT) profile. In total, seven different combinations of processing treatments were tested, and the resulting TVPs were characterized for their physical (rehydration ratio, texture profile analysis, color, and bulk density), techno-functional (oil and water holding capacities), and microstructural properties. The processing conditions of higher SS and lower MC resulted in increased values of several textural profile attributes (springiness, cohesiveness, and resilience), increased water holding capacity (WHC), and decreased bulk density. Compared to raw lentil protein, TVPs showed enhanced oil holding capacity, though WHC either decreased or remained constant. The extrusion response parameters (die pressure, torque, and specific mechanical energy) showed positive correlations with several physical properties (texture, WHC, and total color change), revealing their potential for serving as important TVP quality indicators. TVPs produced at SS, MC, and BT of 450 rpm, 30%, and 140°C, respectively, showed relatively better overall physical and techno-functional quality and can be used as meat extenders in hybrid meat patties. Overall, this research evidenced the viability of lentil protein as a potential ingredient for producing low-moisture TVPs.  相似文献
