Preparation of starch microspheres using epichlorohydrin is a time consuming method and requires around 18 hr for cross-linking reaction. To reduce reaction time, terbutaline sulfate (TBS) loaded degradable starch microspheres (DSM) were prepared using formaldehyde as the cross-linking agent. All microspheres were spherical in shape and had a porous, rough surface with a mean particle size of 18-24 microm. Whatever the cross-linking time, it was seen that the release of the TBS was not complete during the release experiments. The influence of enzyme on the degradation of microspheres was moderate. Following intravenous administration, initial uptake of microspheres by the lung was higher than those of other organs. 相似文献

It is becoming evident that sustainable development methods are now being considered by governments and corporations from all countries at both local and global level. Firms are increasingly looking to strike a balance between profit, preserving the local environment, and energy savings, rather than just looking for profit. In this paper, an enterprise input–output analysis based on production processes is used to investigate two tile manufacturers, one located in China and the other in Italy. The aim of the paper is to describe their energy/materials use and consequent pollution/waste emissions, and to make a comparison between them. As this industry uses huge quantities of energy, it is useful to monitor these consumption uses along with pollution levels. Conducting polymers containing polyether pseudocages (P I , P II , P III ) have been synthesized via chemical oxidation of 1,5‐bis(1,1‐pyrrole)‐3‐oxabutane (M I ), 1,8‐bis(1,1‐pyrrole)‐3,6‐dioxahexane (M II ), and 1,11‐bis(1,1‐pyrrole)‐3,6,9‐trioxaundecane (M III ) using anhydrous FeCl3 in CHCl3. Because as obtained polymer resins did not give any response toward any cations, they were reduced (undoped) using chemical reducing agents. Tetrabutylammonium hydroxide was found to be more effective in undoping to obtain more reproducible and reusable polymer resins. The undoped polymer resins were tried in the extraction of rare earth metal ions from the aqueous medium. Among them, only P III resin removes La(III), Eu(III) and Yb(III) and can be employed for the preconcentration of these metal ions. For batch extraction of La(III), Eu(III) and Yb(III) at neutral pH values, percent recoveries of 98.0 ± 1.0, 90.7 ± 1.4, 87.3 ± 4.0, respectively, has been obtained. The sorption capacity is found as 1.3 mg of La(III) per gram of P III resin. In this study, we report on a unique, one-step fabrication technique enabling the simultaneous synthesis of vertically aligned multi-walled carbon nanotubes (VA-MWCNTs) with dual height scales through alcohol catalyzed chemical vapor deposition (ACCVD). Regions of VA-MWCNTs with different heights were well separated from each other leading to a self-patterning on the surface. We devised a unique layer-by-layer process for application of catalyst and inhibitor precursors on oxidized Si (100) surfaces before the ACCVD step to achieve a hierarchical arrangement. Patterning could be controlled by adjusting the molarity and application sequence of precursors. Contact angle measurements on these self-patterned surfaces indicated that manipulation of these hierarchical arrays resulted in a wide range of hydrophobic behavior changing from that of a sticky rose petal to a lotus leaf. 相似文献

Polyimide (PI)/hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) composites were produced via the thermal imidization procedure from solution mixtures of a polyamicacid, which is prepared from 3,3′,4,4′‐benzophenonetetracarboxylic dianhydride and 3,3′‐diaminodiphenyl sulfone (DADPS) in N‐methyl‐2‐pyrrolidone (NMP), and alkoxysilane functionalized h‐BN. The structure, thermostability, thermal behavior, and surface properties of the resulting materials were characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The thermal characteristics of PI/h‐BN films were better than the pure PIs. The physical and mechanical properties of the films were evaluated by various techniques such as contact angle, chemical resistance, and tensile tests. The flame retardancy of the composite materials was also examined by the limiting oxygen index (LOI). The synthesis, characterization, and application as polymers and anti-wear additives of nanosized zinc oxide particles obtained by conventional and supercritical ethanol drying are reported in this study. The nanaoparticles of ZnO produced by the two different drying techniques were characterized using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometry, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to elucidate the shape, size, composition, and stability of the nanoparticles. ZnO nanoparticles were then applied to poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC) powder and light mineral oil to assess their effectiveness and suitability as additives in diverse areas. XRD analysis revealed ZnO crystalline structure with average particle size of 24.7 nm for zinc oxide nanoparticles prepared by supercritical ethanol drying while SEM showed well-isolated and monodisperse particles with average size of 61.08 nm. 相似文献

Bis[(4 ‐β‐(2‐bromopropanoate)ethoxy)phenyl]phenylphosphine oxide was used for the first time as the initiator of atom transfer radical polymerization of styrene and methyl methacrylate in the presence of CuBr/N, N,N′, N″, N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine as catalyst/ligand and dimethyl sulfoxide as solvent. The presence of phosphine oxide linkages in the backbone gives the polymers special properties; low Tg, high char yield, and decreases the oxygen induction time value. A linear increase of number average molecular weight (Mn) versus monomer conversion was observed, and the molecular weight distribution was relatively narrow (Mw/Mn = 1.1–1.3). FTIR, 1HNMR, gel permeation chromatography, ultraviolet spectroscopies were used for the characterization of the related polymers. The importance of flame-retardant and smoke-suppressed poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) compositions is increasing gradually in the polymer industry since PVC releases smoke and toxic gases (hydrogen chloride, HCl) during heating at temperatures above 140°C with the result of dehydrochlorination reaction. In this study, the synergistic effects of zinc borate (ZB)-zinc phosphate (ZP) on the thermal stability of PVC were investigated using thermal techniques. The induction and stability time values of PVC plastigels were obtained at 140° and 160°C. The results revealed that PVC plastigels having only ZP and ZB retarded dehydrochlorination of PVC compared with the unstabilized sample. However, the plastigels with both ZB and ZP had a superior synergistic effect on char formation of PVC. Since the induction periods of the samples having both ZB and ZP were higher than those of the unstabilized samples having only ZB or only ZP, the synergistic effect was observed. 相似文献

Fuel properties of rapeseed oil and soybean oil methyl esters (e.g. density, cetane number and viscosity etc.) are similar to those of the diesel fuel. These methyl esters can be used as diesel engine fuel by mixing withy diesel fuel. In this study a comparison of diesel fuel, the rapeseed oil methyl ester and the soybean oil methyl ester was made from the engine performance and emissions point of view. The tests were carried out with a four-cylinder diesel engine for tree different injection pressures such as 250, 300 and 350 bar with each of these fuels. For the purpose of comparison, tests were also conducted at full load conditions with diesel fuel. As the result, the performance and emission values of rapeseed oil (R) and soybean oil (S) methyl esters were found to be nearly the same with those of diesel fuels (D) when injection pressure was increased to 300 bar. 相似文献
