The millimeter wave radiation of a dielectric leaky-wave antenna (DLWA) coupled with a metallic diffraction grating with a sinusoidal height profile is experimentally investigated. The interaction between dielectric and grating is contactless and it is from the broad-face of the dielectric line. The measured field patterns are compared with the simulated HFSS patterns. Antenna parameters such as polarization, HPBW, cross-polarization and side lobe levels are measured. The effects of the geometrical parameters of the grating to the radiation are also investigated. Some results are compared with a DLWA which has another diffraction grating profile shape (rectangular). The investigated antenna can be used as a frequency scanning antenna in mm-wave radars because it has low cross and side lobe levels and narrow beam width.  相似文献

In this study, the composites of diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) epoxy resin that have been formed by mixing epoxy resin with allyl glycidyl ether (AGE) and 2,3‐epoxypropyl methacrylate [glycidyl methacrylate (GMA)] were prepared in weight % ratios of 90 : 10, 80 : 20, and 70 : 30. A computer controlled analyzer with 35 MHz and a digital oscilloscope with 60 MHz were used for measuring the velocities of ultrasonic wave. The measurement of ultrasonic velocity carried out by pulse echo method at frequencies of 2.25 and 3.5 MHz at room temperature. The values of acoustic impedance (Z), Poisson ratio (μ), and coefficients of elasticity (L, G, K, E) of composites were calculated by values of densities and velocities that obtained. Thus, the effect of modificating epoxy resin (DGEBA) by AGE and GMA on mechanical properties of DGEBA was investigated using the ultrasonic method. Atomic force microscopy has been used for determining the microstructure of composites. By the results obtained from the investigation, it have been established that the longitudinal and shear ultrasonic wave velocities, and the values of all the elasticity constants of DGEBA were increased by modification with AGE and GMA. Also the most suitable combination ratio for the compound of DGEBA : AGE and DGEBA : GMA has been found as 80 : 20. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Appl. Polym. Sci., 2013  相似文献

The peritoneal environment in endometriosis is known to have growth-promoting effects on endometrial cells. To investigate whether follicular fluid, a contributor to the peritoneal fluid, stimulates endometrial cell proliferation, we incubated endometrial stromal cells in culture with various dilutions of follicular fluid obtained from women with or without endometriosis undergoing oocyte retrieval for in-vitro fertilization. Cell proliferation assays were performed using follicular fluid from 28 women (without endometriosis, n = 13; with endometriosis, n = 15) in eight different endometrial stromal cell culture set-ups. Cell proliferation was assessed by a colorimetric method. Maximum cell proliferation was detected when endometrial cells were incubated with 50% dilution of follicular fluid for 48 h. Follicular fluid from women with endometriosis induced significantly higher cell proliferation than follicular fluid from women without endometriosis (P < 0.05). Our findings indicate that follicular fluid contents may contribute to the growth-promoting factors in the peritoneal fluid of women with endometriosis.  相似文献

This paper presents a methodology for the design of plate-forming dies in cylindrical bending using optimization techniques to reduce the cost of die production by reducing the trial-and-error procedure considerably in determining the final die geometry. The plate thickness is discretized by plane-strain finite-elements. The die is taken to be rigid and its profile is approximated by Bezier curves the control-point coordinates of which are the design variables. The die profile is varied to minimize the difference between the required shape and the shape of the bent plate, considering springback action. The unconstrained optimization problem is solved by the BFGS (Broyden-Fletcher-Goldfarb-Shanno) method. A numerical example is presented where the optimum die profile is obtained for a plate bent into a quarter circle.  相似文献

Productivity analysis and its strategic implications are not only important for manufacturing sector but equally essential for other sectors as well. Branch banking sector is no exception in this sense and banks have to operate more efficiently and effectively in an increasingly competitive environment to sustain or improve their relative positions. This paper discusses the methodology of an empirical study that was employed in analyzing the operating productivities of a set of 44 bank branches of a major commercial bank offering relatively homogeneous products in a multi-market business environment. The methodology was based on the concepts and principles of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results of the study have indicated that this kind of productivity analysis is not only complementary to traditionally used financial ratios but also is a useful bank management tool in reallocating resources between the branches in order to achieve higher efficiencies.  相似文献

The object of the present paper is a review of issues related to the testing of gas and liquid fuel burners which are amongst the most important items of equipment in materials processing and energy producing industries. The text gives basic information about fuels, types of burners and their testing and also about modelling of combustion and formation of pollutants, mainly nitrogen oxides. The first two sections of the text provide an overview of fuels and burner types. The most part of the paper deals with an assessment of conditions and equipment required for testing of gas and liquid fuel burners. Conditions that must be satisfied in burner tests in order to preserve comparable operating conditions as in the real application are stressed. Last part provides an outline of the utilisation of statistical analysis methods and modelling by computational fluid dynamics (CFDs) including the formation of pollutants.  相似文献

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the main cause of mortality in hemodialysis (HD) patients. Epicardial fat tissue (EFT) is a new risk factor in CVD. The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between EFT and coronary artery flow reserve (CFR), which is an early indicator of endothelial dysfunction in coronary vessels of HD patients. We performed a cross‐sectional study including 71 chronic HD patients and 65 age‐ and sex‐matched healthy controls. Epicardial fat tissue was significantly higher in HD patients when compared to healthy controls (6.53 ± 1.01 mm vs. 5.79 ± 1.06 mm, respectively, P < 0.001). On transthoracic Doppler echocardiography, CFR values were significantly lower in HD patients when compared to healthy controls (1.73 ± 0.11 vs. 2.32 ± 0.28, P < 0.001). Correlation analysis showed CFR values to be inversely correlated with EFT (r = ?0.287, P < 0.05). Multiple linear regression analysis was used to define independent determinants of EFT in HD patients. Artery flow reserve, age, body mass index and total cholesterol levels were independently correlated with EFT thickness. This study demonstrated that EFT was significantly higher among HD patients compared to healthy controls. In addition, this study was the first to demonstrate an inverse correlation between EFT and CFR in this patient population.  相似文献

Die springs with rectangular cross section (rectangular die springs) are common in the industry. However, the production of rectangular die springs is difficult, and the cost of production is high. In this study, we examined the use of die springs with circular cross section (circular die springs), which are both easier to produce and less costly, in place of rectangular ones. To this aim, the fatigue life values of both die spring with equivalent specifications were compared experimentally. The results obtained were transferred to the finite element methods software to run the simulation of the fatigue test. From the experimental results obtained, it has been observed that using circular die springs in place of rectangular die springs is always possible, provided that the springs are guided with cast polyamide guides.  相似文献

c-axis-oriented zinc-oxide (ZnO) thin films were prepared on microscope glass substrates by sol–gel deposition. A homogeneous and stable solution was prepared by dissolving zinc-acetate 2-hydrate (ZnAc) in 2-propanol and diethanolamine. Crystalline ZnO thin films were obtained following an annealing process at temperatures between 450°C and 550°C for 1 h. Increasing annealing temperature increased the grain size and the c-axis orientation. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed single-phase ZnO with hexagonal zincite structure. The absorption edge analysis revealed that the optical band-gap energy for the films were between 3.26 and 3.28 eV and electronic transition was direct transition type.  相似文献

Due to the innate complexity of the task drivers have to manage multiple goals while driving and the importance of certain goals may vary over time leading to priority being given to different goals depending on the circumstances. This study aimed to investigate drivers’ behavioral regulation while managing multiple goals during driving. To do so participants drove on urban and rural roads in a driving simulator while trying to manage fuel saving and time saving goals, besides the safety goals that are always present during driving. A between-subjects design was used with one group of drivers managing two goals (safety and fuel saving) and another group managing three goals (safety, fuel saving, and time saving) while driving. Participants were provided continuous feedback on the fuel saving goal via a meter on the dashboard. The results indicate that even when a fuel saving or time saving goal is salient, safety goals are still given highest priority when interactions with other road users take place and when interacting with a traffic light. Additionally, performance on the fuel saving goal diminished for the group that had to manage fuel saving and time saving together. The theoretical implications for a goal hierarchy in driving tasks and practical implications for eco-driving are discussed.  相似文献
