We present uniform asymptotic solutions (UAS) for displacement discontinuities (DD) that lie within the middle layer of a three layer elastic medium. The DDs are assumed to be normal to the two parallel interfaces between the leastic media, and solutions will be presented for both 2D and 3D elastic media. Using the Fourier transform (FT) method we construct the leading term in the asymptotic expansion for the spectral coefficient functions for a DD in a three layer medium. Although a closed form solution will require an infinite series solution, we demonstrate how this UAS can be used to construct highly efficient and accurate solutions even in the case in which the DD actually touches the interface. We present an explicit UAS for elements in which the DD fields are assumed to be piecewise constant throughout a line segment in 2D and a rectangular element in 3D. We demonstrate the usefulness of this UAS by providing a number of examples in which the UAS is used to solve problems in which cracks just touch or cross an interface. The accuracy and efficiency of the algorithm is demonstrated and compared with other numerical methods such as the finite element method and the boudary integral method. 相似文献
Much research has been done on sorting networks but there are very few results concerning their robustness. Our starting point is the balanced sorting network introduced by Dowd et al. and its single-block robust design of Rudolph obtained at the cost of some redundancy and two permuters external to the network. In this article we introduce a new implementation which is more robust than Rudolph's network and needs no redundancy or external permuters. We also consider a class of single-stage designs with redundancy and compare the characteristics of networks discussed. 相似文献
The gradual climate change symptoms in many places on Earth have been observed during the last 20 years. There is a significant increase in frequency and extremity of meteorological and hydrological events (EEA, 2007) that lead to distinct excess or lack of water in landscape. These phenomena affect not only actual quantity of water but also its quality with direct and indirect impacts on aquatic organisms. From the environmental impact point of view, drought events are considered to be more dangerous due to their medium-term to long-term characteristics and large spatial impacts. However, this study presents that the particular flood event had significantly greater impact on water quality than the period of drought even if for only a very short time The paper reviews changes in water quality with all its consequences during selected extreme hydrological situations in the Czech Republic in last 10 years and compares them with the knowledge of impacts of floods and droughts on water quality collected from literature. 相似文献
Pyridyl‐substituted [2.2]paracyclophanes build a multifunctional structural motif that is useful in material chemistry, catalysis and for luminescent structures. Nonetheless, there is still a lack of general methods for the synthesis of these structures tolerating easily accessible bromides as well as different isomeric pyridyl groups. Hence the coupling of functionalized [2.2]paracyclophanes with various substituted and functionalized pyridyl derivatives was achieved using Stille, Suzuki and Kumada coupling conditions. Hereby the Stille coupling of a [2.2]paracyclophane is presented as a versatile reaction for the formation of heteromeric [2.2]paracyclophane‐containing biaryl structures.
We describe the influence of calcium copper titanate (CCTO), and montmorillonite (MMT) on the thermo-mechanical and dielectric properties of poly(methyl methacrylate) PMMA-based composites prepared by an in-situ, thermally activated, radical polymerization for multifunctional structural capacitor applications. MMT was used for its ability to disperse and suspend the CCTO particles through the generation of viscous monomer slurries. X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements together with transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis revealed that the MMT platelets were present in both intercalated and exfoliated morphologies within the polymer matrix. The filler addition was found to improve the thermal stability and the glass transition temperature of PMMA in the composites. Furthermore, the elastic stiffness and dielectric constant of the resultant composites were observed to increase monotonically with filler loading. By contrast, the dielectric breakdown strength of the composite samples was found to diminish with increasing filler loading. 相似文献
The design and first measuring results of an ultra-low power 12 bit successive-approximation ADC for autonomous multi-sensor systems are presented. The comparator and the DAC are optmised for low power consumption. The power consumption is 0.52 μW from a 1.2 V supply with a sample clock of 3.125 kHz and 0.85 μW at 6.25 kHz. This gives 136 pJ per conversion or 66 fJ per conversion step. As per authors’ knowledge, 66 fJ per conversion step is the best reported so far.The ADC was realised in the NXP CMOS 0.14 μm technology; the area was 0.35 mm2. Only four metal layers were used in order to allow 3D integration of the sensors. 相似文献
