The solubility of 35 steroids in supercritical carbon dioxide at 40°C was examined qualitatively and quantitatively for the pressure range between 80 and 200 bat. Relations between structure of the compound and its solubility were established and rules of thumb worked out which enable us to estimate the solubility of a steroid in an extraction with supercritical gases, based upon the number of hydroxyl and carboxyl groups of the steroid basic structure. In the most favourable case we obtained solubilities of sterols with approximately 1 mg/Nl at 200 bar. All compounds with more than three hydroxyl or carboxyl groups in the molecule, and the corresponding glycosides are insoluble. 相似文献

Strength and Toughness, Criteria of Safety for Construction of Apparata. In the chemical research technique often high requirements are being set on the materials of apparata due to pressure, temperature and corrosive medias. While the strength necessary to avoid macroscopical deformation can be guaranteed today without difficulties, this does not go similarly for the toughness. The toughness of steel being a condition in the strength calculation is the real safety criterion for welded structures. This is especially applicable in the case of local peak stress due to construction or of micro cracks caused during manufacturing or service. If – as mostly in practice – local inhomogeneities and unknown residual stresses are existing, the linear fracture mechanics can only be applied with empirical factors. The best safety even with unforeseen overloadings can be seen in such a toughness, which avoids brittle fracture at all. The possible test methods will in any case have to reliably consider also the heat affected zones of weldings, since brittle cracks also in tough matrix can only be absorbed under limited stresses. 相似文献

Summary We propose in this paper a logical complexity measure — Horn complexity — for Boolean functions which measures the minimal length of quasi-Horn definitions of such functions by propositional formulae. The interest for this complexity measure comes on the one hand from the observation that the satisfiability problem for Horn formulae is in P, on the other hand from a strong connection to Cook's problem. This study attempted to find out whether the low content of glucosinolates in the seed of the rapeseed cultivar Bronowski significantly affects the nutritional value of the seed meal. Glucosinolates were extracted from unheated meal with cold acetone, a process giving rise to only a slight inactivation of enzymes. Mice fed with a diet containing this meal as the protein source showed similar growth, feed intake and protein efficiency ratio to mice fed with heat-treated meal. When glucosinolates were added to the acetone-extracted meal, bringing them to about the same amount as before the acetone extraction, the growth response of the mice was as poor as that of mice fed with unheated, unextracted meal. Thus, even such low amounts of glucosinolates as found in Bronowski seed meal significantly affect the nutritional value of the diet as long as the appropriate enzymes are present. Besides myrosinase, other enzymes influencing the hydrolysis of glucosinolates appear to exist in the meal. 相似文献
