In this article, a powder‐bed class of additive manufacturing (AM) is incorporated into the manufacturing of graphene nanocomposite 3D structures. For AM of graphene‐based 3D structures, graphene oxide (GO)/hydroxyapatite (Hap) nanocomposite (GHN) was synthesized at different GO to Hap percentage (wt.%), including 0.2% and 0.4% to develop a printable powder. The synthesized powder was utilized in a powder‐bed AM system to fabricate 3D porous structures of GHN powder. It was shown that at layer thickness of 125 μm and core binder saturation level of 400%, the compressive mechanical strength of the samples with higher content of graphene was improved significantly. 相似文献
This paper updates a method for generating small, accurate kinetic models for applications in computational fluid dynamics programs. This particular method first uses a time-integrated flux-based algorithm to generate the smallest possible skeletal model based on the detailed kinetic model. Then, it uses a multi-stage optimization process in which multiple runs of a genetic algorithm are used to optimize the rate constant parameters of the retained reactions. This optimization technique provides the user with the flexibility needed to balance the fidelity of the model with their time constraints. The updated method was applied to the reduction of a methane-air model under conditions meant to approximate the end of a compression stroke of an internal combustion engine. When compared to previous techniques, the results showed that this method could produce a more accurate model in considerably less time. The best model obtained in this study resulted in relative errors ranging from 0.22 to 1.14% on all six optimization targets. This reduced model was also able to adequately predict optimization targets for certain operating conditions, which were not included in the optimization process.
Diffusion joining of commercially pure titanium was successfully prepared via transient liquid phase bonding in vacuum environment. The process was carried out using AMS 4772 silver-based filler alloy at 900–1000°C for various holding time under the vacuum of 6?×?10?7?Torr. Optical and scanning electron microscopy equipped with an EDS analyzer was conducted for microstructural evaluations. Mechanical properties were also investigated by shear test, fractographic assessment and X-ray diffraction analyses. The tendency to achieve isothermally solidified joint increased by increasing bonding time. No sign of athermal solidification was detected of sample bonded at 1000°C for 90?min. Consequently, the bonding condition of a high quality joint was obtained. Elemental analyses revealed that filler alloy’s elements (Ag, Cu) distributed more uniformly in fully isothermal solidified bond, whereas the aggregation of these elements is considerable in athermally solidified bond. Shear test results represented that the highest shear strength attributed to the sample bonded in isothermal solidified condition (bonded at 1000°C for 90?min). 相似文献
This paper introduces pictorial intelligent system for human identification (PiSHi), an image-based captcha which uses three human cognitive abilities to distinguish humans from machines. The first is the human ability to easily recognise the image’s upright orientation. The second is the human brain’s ability in recognising a picture’s content when it is only partially visible. And the third is the human ability in unconscious decision making when encountering pictorial challenges. This work models such complicated human patterns in problem solving for the first time. In order to extract these behavioural patterns and save them in a pattern database, we have implemented our own captcha and performed a series of experiments. PiSHi’s interface presents the user with a set of distorted pictures and asks her to click on the upright orientation of all the pictures in any preferred order. Next, it captures the user’s interaction patterns, compares them with the ones saved in the pattern database, and grants her a corresponding credit. Based on this credit, the user either passes or fails the test, and participates in updating the picture database. Our experiments indicate that human users can solve our proposed captcha effectively—with an accuracy of 99.44 %. Besides, our proposed system is secure against several types of attacks including random guessing and reverse image search engines. The results offer the possibility of utilising the identified human behavioural models in practical captchas. 相似文献
The paper presents further experiments with an extended version of a comprehensive model for assessment of energy technologies and research and development (R&D) planning to evaluate the impact of innovation programs on development of Iranian electricity-supply system. This analytical instrument is a model of energy R&D resource allocation with an explicit perspective of developing countries which has been linked to a bottom-up energy-systems model. Three emerging electricity generation technologies of solar PV, wind turbine and gas fuel cell are considered in the model and the impact of innovation programs on cost-reducing innovation for them is examined. The main results provided by the modeling approach include optimal allocation of R&D resources, induced capacity expansion policies to guarantee the effectiveness of R&D activities, competitive cost of emerging technologies, impact of innovation programs on optimal structure of electricity-supply system and benefits of innovation programs in the long-run. 相似文献
Due to their non-polluting nature and environment friendliness, Renewable Energies have gained great deal of attention and deserve a substantial body of both theoretical and empirical research. Amongst other factors, the low operational cost and simple maintenance procedures attributed the Oscillating Water Column (OWC) are perhaps the main reasons why this system is the most used concept for the ocean wave energy capture. In this paper, through extensive experimental research various geometrical designs of an OWC system is investigated and the optimized set up for the maximum energy harness is obtained. The initial chamber dimensions were 10 × 50 × 53 cm with the chamber being placed in an open channel with wave-simulating equipment with dimensions of 16 × 0.7 × .05 m. For various chamber geometries, with the aid of a air rotameter and a Pitot tube equipped with a digital manometer, the outlet air flow and velocity from the chamber was measured and registered. The measurements were then interpreted to provide design data for the optimal geometry of the chamber that may yield the maximum conversion of wave energy to useful energy. 相似文献
A gas sensor was developed to measure the concentration of binary gas mixtures. This sensor works based on the permeability change of different gas mixtures across the polymeric membranes. Although high values of permeability and selectivity are needed for an ideal separation, the performance of this sensor mainly depends on the permeability factor. Polysulfone and silicone rubber were applied as the membrane base and coat, respectively. Moreover, in contrast to existing polymeric sensors that use hollow fibers, the present sensor is made of flat membranes. This new design is cheaper, smaller, and easier to use in comparison to the hollow fiber polymeric sensors. In order to test the sensor applicability, nitrogen and carbon dioxide were used as model gases. The effect of pressure on the response time and sensor accuracy was studied for the aforementioned gases. The response time (T95%) of this low price sensor was 50?s, and the tolerance of measuring concentration was approximately 1.4% at 2?bar feed pressure. Also, increasing the feed pressure can improve the response time or accuracy of the sensor. 相似文献
SiC coatings were generated on graphite using slurry sintering (SS) and pack cementation (PC). The samples’ ablation features were assessed by an oxyacetylene torch. The rates of mass ablation of the PC–SiC and SS–SiC coatings were approximated 2.17?×?10?3 and 9.52?×?10?3 g s?1, respectively, decreased by 84.1 and 29.6% compared to the uncoated samples. It was mainly attributed to the formation of a SiO2 layer on the surface. The continuous SiO2 molten film formed via the PC–SiC oxidation generates a sealing mechanism which can be an obstacle against the oxygen diffusion and hinder more ablation. This is while discontinuous SiO2 film formed from the thin SS–SiC cannot protect the graphite effectively. The non-isothermal oxidation test shows that without the SiC coating, the sample weight is lost largely from 25 to 1500 °C, and its weight loss was 2.2% after the TGA. However, after coating, the samples possessed excellent oxidation protection and weight losses of SS–SiC and PC–SiC coatings are down to 1.3 and 0.6%, respectively. The more oxidation of the graphite substrate occurred due to the formation of macrocracks in the coating during the TGA and also the formation of holes on SiO2 glass layer owing to release of CO or CO2. 相似文献
